In this informal, on‑the‑street Facebook Live from Paris, author‑coach Mary Schiller thanks viewers for their feedback on a previous video about fearing the demands of a life lived fully. She expands the message, asserting that each person’s calling is uniquely tailored to their innate talents. Schiller illustrates how her own skills—writing, simplifying complex ideas, and a growing interest in public speaking and program creation—have naturally evolved into new, exciting pursuits. She challenges the common excuse of “not knowing my calling,” arguing that everyone has an inner voice that is often silenced by fear and self‑doubt. By taking even the smallest step toward that voice, she claims, internal resources surface and the unknown becomes a space of lightness, love, and creativity rather than terror. Schiller acknowledges that scary thoughts persist but advises treating them as universal background noise. She ties personal financial ambitions to a larger purpose: reaching people with transformative messages. The core call‑to‑action is to simply say “yes” to one’s calling, begin the journey, and engage with her community via comments or email.

Hello, hello, it's Mary Schiller, author and coach of MarySchiller.com. Sorry, the lighting is not too great here where I'm standing, uh, here in Paris, France. I'm in my neighborhood and I was just going out for a walk and I thought today, before I get too hot and perspiring too much, I will jump on and do a Facebook Live. I wanted to thank you all so much for the wonderful comments on the video that I did a couple of days ago where I talked about being afraid that too much will be asked of you if you simply give yourself over to life and you follow the things that are calling to you. Maybe if I stand this way, you'll be able to see me a bit better. There we go. That if you simply say yes to life, if you say yes to the desires and the callings of your heart, that, you know, that you won't be able to handle it somehow. And I was so touched by the comments that I read, and I received several emails from people who were very moved by what I was saying. And really, I've thought a lot about it since then. And I have realized that there's another piece to the message, which is that, um, yes, there is more for you to do, there is more for me to do, but the cool thing is that the thing that we're being called to do is tailor-made to us. It is as if it was designed perfectly for us. Um, that has become really, really fun for me to explore, uh, that, you know, my personal desire to bring more people around to an understanding of what these principles are pointing to has actually capitalized on my natural skills and talents and abilities. You know, things that I had been using in other areas professionally, such as writing and my ability to sort of take complicated information and make it simple for people— those are things I had been doing in my professional life prior to this, but now I'm using them in exciting and new ways that I never dreamed I would do before. And I'm also now looking at things that I've not done before and wondering, wow, you know, it looks really interesting to me to potentially become some sort of public speaker, or it looks really interesting to me to create some larger programs that people can access to develop a business from a new understanding of themselves that doesn't involve so much complexity and, and, um, and, you know, worry about strategies and things. And all of these different things have opened up to me that all play on things I'm already interested in and things that I already want to do and explore. So we seem to have this idea that if, you know, we have this calling of some sort, that we don't have what it takes to answer that calling. And so we say we don't know what it is. I hear that a lot from people. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I don't know what I'm being called to do. Well, to speak candidly to you, I'm not buying it. I'm just not buying it because we all have something inside that is calling to us. But we've gotten very good at not listening to it, at pushing it away, at hearing something else in our heads that says it's not safe to go there, that it could never work, that all of these terrible things will happen to us if we go in the direction of, of our dreams and of what we really want. And what I'm trying to say, maybe not very eloquently today, is that When we listen to that and give it the attention that it deserves, we soon discover that if we take even the tiniest step in that direction, that all of the resources that we have within us come to light, and that where we're going is not this dark, scary, unknown place. It's actually the truth of what you and I are, and there is nothing scary there. If I've learned one thing over the last 4 years, it's that, that the unknown is not frightening. That anytime I have gone towards something that was new and, um, that I hadn't experienced before, that I've never found anything there except lightness and love and excitement and creativity and all of those wonderful things. Does that mean that I never have a scary thought? Of course I have scary thinking because that's universal. And the fact that it's universal means that I don't really have to pay attention to it at all because it's something that everyone experiences. And so I just kind of set all that off to the side and I continue to go towards what is calling to me. And sometimes the things that are calling to me are, you know, seem really unattainable. You know, I have some things that I would like to achieve financially, and I have some reasons why I want to achieve those financial goals, and they seem like, wow, could I ever really do that? But I'm excited to go try because I know that what that means, if I do hit those goals, is that I have reached people with a message that is transformative in some way for them. And that's all I care about. That is all that I care about. And so if you are called to do something more and you want to explore that and you want to say yes to that, then simply say yes to it and start to see for yourself what spins out from that simple act of saying, yes, okay, here I am, I'm ready to go, you know, I'm ready to do what's next, I'm ready to do a big thing, I'm ready to explore what it means to be fully here and consciously living and consciously creating something amazing in this world that can help other people. So that's my message for you today, and I really hope it's been helpful. Wherever you're watching this video, I would love to hear from you, so please feel free to post a comment and I'll respond. And as always, you can get in touch with me by email at mary@marieschiller.com. Thank you so much for watching, and I'll talk to you soon. Bye for now.
