3: Dream Smaller to Manifest Faster | Matt & Corisande Cooke
5 Aug 2026 · 46 min
Matt and Corisande Cooke break down how to manifest faster by starting smaller. They explain the "magic factor"—belief, emotional connection, visualization, and surrender—and show how to reverse-engineer big goals into concrete next steps while staying open to different paths. They share how they manifested a Penguin Random House book deal and a house by shifting their odds through consistent visualization.

Manifestation is life, isn't it?
Yeah.
It's not just one thing you're focused on. No, it's not. Even though you might have one goal, the reality is you and I right now, we're manifesting everything. Now, if I take us back only 4 years ago, we'd sold our house. I'd stupidly put all the equity into a bad investment, practically had no money again, but I still always had in my mind—
People think that the smallest steps are really obvious. No, they're sometimes something you have to really sit with because it's very often something that may be slightly uncomfortable. In order to get to where we want to get to, and what we want to achieve with what we're building, it requires a mindset far beyond just being comfortable.
The further out the objective sought, the longer it takes. Now, I just think personally that you can get there a little bit faster.
You came up with a really obvious answer to the question of how do I get to that life that I'm dreaming of— the car, the house, the relationship, all of those things.
There's no right or wrong way. This is the way that works for Really well for Corisande and I. All right, so welcome back to another episode on Beyond. Today we're really excited because we don't want these episodes to just be Corisande and I rambling and talking about what's going on in our life. We're going to weave that in, of course, but we really want to answer some of the most common questions that we get on this whole manifestation journey because there are so many moving parts at once. So what we're going to do here is primarily dive into the questions that we've been asked from the Beyond community, and then sort of go from there and see where the episode takes us. Now, I would say if you've got questions yourself, like if there's something on your mind, do me a favor, manifest that your question gets asked on one of Coruscant Unite's next episodes. So perhaps you can drop it in the comments below wherever you're seeing this, or send me an email or send us a DM. If you've got a question, if there's a question you know that's on your mind and no one else has asked that question, send it to us. Take the action. Because I definitely wanna talk about action today, um, because I've had a recent epiphany on that. But I wanna start here with a question that we've had in the community from Ruth. And she said, Hi Coruscant, how do you and Matt merge 2 different manifestations when you are together? Do you have a shared vision of your path? And I think that's a really good question because of course There might be people listening to this who are manifesting with their partner, or their partner might have a completely different vision. So what do you say?
Well, great question, Ruth. And I think, so, okay, so how I'd answer this in a few different ways, but if I was to answer it from my own angle here. So we have seasons, I would imagine, you and I. I feel like I put our life into seasons, into sections. Sometimes those seasons are all around things that maybe you've got going on that are really, really important to our business, what we're doing at the time. It involves me. It's very much like a joint thing. And I feel that it would be odd for my attention not to be on that because it's such a huge part of our life at that moment. So, in those situations, it's very much my energy's directed towards— what you're doing, just the energy around it, making sure that I'm focusing on the steps, the sequential steps that you and I have talked about for it to be a success and all of those things. And that's happening right now. But then there might be other times where I might have things as well in the background that might be to do with, just specifically to do with me that I want to focus on. So, it's finding a balance of, I think it's nice to involve your partner and actually to I mean, not everyone has a business with their partner. I understand that. But if you're like Matt and I, we like to look at our life and say, right, what's the direction we want to take it in? And obviously, 2 energies are better than one.
Collective intention.
Yeah. How can we both direct it? So I suppose it depends on what season we're in in our life, but I think it's really about sectioning where you are and sitting and saying, okay, so what can we do together here? What makes sense for us both to focus on here? What's the sequential steps that need to happen? Like, for example, if you're buying a house, you're both buying that house and you're both gonna be moving into it together. So obviously that type of manifestation you wanna be doing together and really getting that collective intent together. So yeah, that's kind of how we, I would say that's how we manage it, would you?
Yeah, 100%. I also think though, you know, this manifestation is life, isn't it? It's not just one thing you're focused on. Even though you might have one goal, the reality is you and I right now, we're manifesting the success of this podcast. You know, our events.
Yeah.
We're manifesting every other area of our business as well as our house, our personal life, our health, everything. So I would say, you know, there's definitely clearly some manifestations of yours that are slightly different to mine, but we see it more as like a lifestyle. But I think if it— if let's say you and I are manifesting the same thing, such as a house, I would always say, and I think this is a great question that anyone can ask, their partner or their friend or whoever they're manifesting with or their children. What does it mean to you? Because if I go right back to when we were manifesting a better financial situation, we used to butt heads a little bit because I would treat money differently to you.
Yeah. Yeah. That's a really good point actually. Yeah.
And I remember saying to Corisande, right, we've got to come together to manifest what this means.
Yeah.
Now, I said to you, Corisande, what does money mean to you? And you, you answered it beautifully. And I just noticed that I had a shared vision for that, but mine was slightly different. Mine was more, I remember back then, more sort of investments and foundations. And you were a little bit more like, yeah, that's sort of important, but I really wanna like focus on like living matter.
Yeah. Didn't you?
Do you remember? Do you remember?
Yeah, absolutely.
So then it helped with the vision for you because we could say, okay, well, we both need to manifest this financial position, but you would visualize it in one way, i.e., a lifestyle and what money could do for us. And I would see that, but I'd also feel, I suppose, a level of grounding and foundations. And we've bought a house and we have investments and we have, you know, it's just how I work.
Yeah.
And I think unless you understand someone else's understanding of what something means, it's hard to manifest together. Yeah.
It's kind of like stepping onto the other side, isn't it?
Yeah.
Observing it from your partner's angle and saying, okay, well, how can we— it's like designing anything. Like, it's literally like designing something and you're doing it together. Okay, well, what do you want from this? Okay, well, I want this. Okay, well, I want this from this. And it's just like bringing the vision together and then going from there.
Absolutely. It's like having the same thing, but it being okay to have a different type of vision around it.
Yeah. So hopefully, Ruth, that's answered your question. We've got a really nice question actually here from Michelle.
Hmm.
And Michelle has asked, so her question is, how to break down a big manifestation into smaller steps without focusing on how, because breaking it up into smaller steps feels like mapping it out and deciding what needs to happen. So for example, if I'd like a house, my next step feels like getting a deposit together, but that also feels like I'm limiting myself because I could get to the end of that goal by multiple different ways which don't involve paying a deposit? I hope that makes sense. Yes, it does.
It's a great question.
I'm loving this, Michelle. Yes.
Now, let me really help people understand what I mean by breaking it down. You don't always have to break a goal down. I just know through the work that I do that the further out the objective's sought, the longer it takes. What that really actually means fundamentally is, Any— every single person on Earth is manifesting right now. But people who don't understand this work, there's billions of people that perhaps have never even heard the word manifestation. They're manifesting, they just don't know it. So therefore, they're unconsciously manifesting, and their life is unfolding probabilistically by chance.
Right.
Great things happen to people all the time, and they won't put it down to anything other than it just happened. That's because life unfolds and renders by chance. That's how it works. We live in a probabilistic universe. So when it comes to manifestation, let's use the house as an example with Michelle. Where I now go in my head is I say to myself, on a scale of 0 to 100, 100% being it's manifested, where am I placing right now my ability for that house to manifest by chance? Not without doing any work.
Mm-hmm.
By chance. Now, if I go take us back only 4 years ago, you know, we'd sold our house. I'd stupidly put all the equity into a bad investment. So we practically had no money again. And we had only just started our business and made it official. So we had no books. So by chance, what was the probabilistic outcome of us buying a house?
Tiny percentage?
Unless we want to have— like here in the UK, they do these, it's called Omaze, and you can win a house, can't you? It's like playing the lottery.
Not even 10%?
Not even, maybe 1%.
Yeah.
Really. Especially if I was clear on a housing goal. Now, the thing is, like Michelle and like you and I going back then, we'd have a vision. So the truth is no amount of Well, you'd have to have a perfect belief system. Like, I'm talking 100%. You'd have to have a perfect ability of dropping outside of your analytical mind and going deep within theta brainwaves where you're highly suggestible. You'd have to 100% be able to connect emotionally, visually to a vision, and you'd have to be able to completely surrender at 100% to the outcome. Now, I want everyone to reflect on that within their own manifestation. Can they do those few things? Can they believe? Can they go deep? Can they connect with it? And can they release it? Now, I know that when we wanted that house, we were under the gun in terms of time pressure. We wanted a child. We wanted a move to Cornwall. We didn't wanna be living with your parents. So release was difficult.
Oh, yeah.
Believing was difficult. So if you're— I call that like the magic factor. If your magic factors can't be at 100%, it is not gonna lift the dial on that 1% base. If you could be like a yogi and go deep in meditation and connect with it emotionally and have not one scrap of doubt, and you could do the meditation and completely let it go knowing the universe is taking care of it, there will be a major synchronicity or because we know intention modifies probabilistic odds, we know that you could lift that 1% base sky high. Now, where this will— and I, what I'm teaching now has come after my intuitive understanding of dream smaller to manifest faster. I didn't know where that came from. I just knew in my gut there was something telling me to do that. Because now when you think about it, well, it's gonna require an enormous amount of energy on those 4 factors to manifest that house, Michelle.
Yeah.
So I would think about reverse engineering it down to what that next step is. Yeah, it could be the deposit depending on the situation you're in. If you're in a job and you've got a career and you've got a salary, then perhaps it is just a deposit. In our case, being entrepreneurs, it wasn't a salary. We needed to build a successful business. So we needed to do 2 things, didn't we? We held the vision in our mind of our house, but we reverse engineered it down to the next steps, which were right down to Getting clients.
Yeah.
And I think Michelle's right for sure. Like, the house could come. Absolutely. You could win the Omaze. Sure. So don't ever take your eyes off the end goal. Corisande and I never do that. We still dreamed about the house. We still felt what it would be like in Cornwall, but we reverse engineered the next step. Whatever that next step is, work out really like on a baseline, like I've just said, If it is the deposit, then the manifestation really is manifesting money. And the only thing is to realize you're not, you're not like working it all out because it might take you on a completely different journey. Sure. But just use logic here. This is why we've been given, gifted this brain to just sort of slightly map out what that could look like. And, and if we think intuitively, well, it makes sense to me that I need to manifest money for a deposit. Your job is not to figure out how it's going to manifest. Your job is to go right. The goal, the manifestation is a deposit. So now, do I believe it? Sort of ish. Okay, well that's highlighting some work. Do I go deeper meditation? Sort of. Okay, we need to go deeper. Can I connect with the vision of money?
No.
Well, I need to work on that, and that highlights what you're doing. Just work on that, and then manifest the next. Perhaps as a step. any money.
Yeah, that's a good point. So you are saying sometimes if you are struggling, then there could be an even smaller step that you don't realize is visible.
And if you don't know this step, manifest the next step by literally going into a meditation or in your gratitude saying, universe, I'm open and ready for a sign. It's not manipulating the process, it's just reverse engineering it from a base probability. In my, I've, look, I've worked with hundreds of people. And the further out that base roughly, and it's subjective, meaning that you are gonna have to be brutally honest about where you are gonna place yourself on that scale of 0 to 100 subjectively, meaning that I think I might be at 1% of this just happening by chance. If that is where you are, then you need to reverse engineer it, in my opinion. But if you are going, do you know what? I think actually I've got a 50% chance. Great. You're already there. Just keep doing the magic.
Yeah.
Keep doing the work, keep doing the meditations, and you're gonna lift odds. Okay.
I like that.
That's what I would say. Kirsty says, hey, Matt and Corisande, I'm wondering the same as Michelle. How can I reverse engineer small stepping stones without falling into controlling the how? Perhaps you could give a perspective on, on what I've just said then.
Well, the smaller steps are sometimes so not the obvious thing that you would imagine. So I sometimes like to draw a triangle. Yep. And I like to put my end goal at the top, and I use the 2 corners at the bottom to really think about— as I'm going up side by side, I make a list of the obvious for me, but then in those obvious ones, I then Say, is there something even more deep that I'm missing here? Because I think the obvious ones are the surface-level ones. It's what your body feels comfortable with you saying.
Mm.
You have to— I think people think that the smaller steps are really obvious, that they're like, oh, well, surely you should know that. No, they're sometimes something you have to really sit with, because it's very often something that may be slightly uncomfortable. Or that you don't want to face, or that you don't want to do at that time, or that maybe is really shouting and screaming at you in the face, but you just aren't open to seeing it yet. So, I think sometimes it's actually, I find mapping out on a piece of paper really, really clear, then I'm able to break it down visually in front of me. I think for some people, just saying a smaller step is really difficult to break down in your mind, but I think when you can physically see it in front of you, You're able to see, well, I think it's something really interesting that there's always something we can be doing in our life, even though it feels like there is nothing. You've exhausted all options. You've done everything. There's always something you can be doing. Because I'll give you an example of this. You were speaking to someone the other day who was asking you this very question. And I took something from your answer, which I thought was really, really interesting, that the person that was asking you the question hadn't actually thought of. And you came up with a really obvious answer to the question of, how do I get to that life that I'm dreaming of? The car, the house, the relationship, all of those things. Let's take the car, for example. You were like, well, go and test drive it now. Have you test-driven the car? No, because obviously I haven't test-driven the car. Well, why? Go and test drive it now. Go and feel what it feels like.
That's a good point. Yeah.
See, even that, like, like, now let's just say I'm just talking materially here. There might be someone that's thinking like they're, they're manifesting their dream car. Okay, well, have you driven it? You might have built it online.
Because Corisande and I, we, you know, there's a bit of a sweet paradox here because I know Corisande and I have gotten to where we are with not taking enough action. And I mean, I don't mean aligned action, I'm talking about just action in general.
Because I hear people that do.
Yes, they do. And like, yeah, there's a lovely soul who's going to be working with us very soon, who's a great example of taking action. She held a vision to work with a company like ours, and she was holding it in her practice and reached out and took the action. And what I find so amazing about action is what you've always got to realize, and I'm starting to say this more, is the action that perhaps you might be afraid to take. is the very thing that someone on the opposite end might be trying to manifest themselves.
Yeah.
So we were actually paradoxically thinking about and manifesting someone for this exact role before she then reached out. So it's like, even though she reached out, we sort of manifested her, and there was this sweet sort of thing. So I think when it comes back to taking action, like you said, if I look at the house we now live in, when we first viewed it, we still didn't know if we could even afford it. We walked around that house and there was, at the time, no proof, was there?
No.
No way. But we needed to feel it. We needed to understand it.
But it's so— you've got to remember, this work is so not the norm. This is so not the normal. Like, you have to imagine that these smaller steps are going to be something that you may not even have considered.
Yeah. And also though, on that though, I would just say there's no right or wrong way. This is the way that works really well for Corisanna and I. You know, there are some amazing people that have manifested amazing things by just holding a big goal. Now, I just think personally that you can get there a little bit faster without it.
Well, I think, look, if you're going to come, you make— you can make it easier for yourself with mindset and everything. Why not?
Because if you're holding that big goal, you've got to ask yourself, are you going to be up against belief? Is this going to happen? When's it going to happen? And perhaps you won't see the sign of the synchronicity and you'll question it. I just wanna give, can I just give one example on this? Just, just for people. I would say if you're torn between, do I reverse engineer or do I hold a big goal? Take 2 manifestations, one where you do reverse engineer it and one where you don't. And, and treat it like a test, like a split test.
Yeah.
I used to do marketing, so I know split testing funnels. And say to yourself, What's my mindset like with A, where I've reverse engineered it? Am I seeing signs, synchronicities towards this? And B, this is my other one that maybe you've just picked outta nowhere, and I'm only focusing on the end result of what I want it to look like. And then see how that tests you. And I just know, I think I've spoken about this a few times when I was manifesting Penguin Random House. I saw Penguin. Everyone knows Split A, where I reverse engineered it. That's written out in my book, right? All the steps. But I still always had in my mind Penguin. You never take your eye off the end goal. Penguin Random House. And I signed with Penguin Random House in February 2024. In around about May 2024, so about 2, 3 months later, I, I'm there. I'm actually now in the process of writing my book. I think you remember this. I'm there writing and an email pings up from Penguin Random House.
Uh-huh. Yeah.
Yeah. I'm like, oh, well, I wonder what my editor might be asking me. Oh, it's not my editor. Go on, it's someone else. Oh, I don't recognize this person. And they said, hi, Matt. Um, I follow you on Instagram. I love what you do. I was just wondering whether you've ever thought about writing a book. And I stood there or sat there, and I was thinking. I remember saying to myself, "What are they on about? What do you? Why are they asking me whether I want to write a book? I'm writing a book with them." It confused me for about five minutes, and I sat there and was thinking, "What's going on?" And then I noticed it was Penguin Random House London. Of course, I've signed with Penguin Random House. New York, realising that even though they're the same company, separate departments have no idea unless they're telling each other what books they've bought.
Yeah.
I then have goosebumps because I go over to my vision board and on my vision board I've got the logo of Penguin Random House, the little penguin, London. And I realised that it would've still worked if I'd have left it. But the question is, because simultaneously I was reverse engineering it, my belief system was increasing. Just a quick one. It amazes me how many people have no idea that I have a digital version of my mind. And let me just explain exactly what that is before you jump back into the episode. So I knew for years that AI is here to stay, and there's a lot of people using AI in a negative way. And I personally love AI. I think it's a great tool and a great study guide for me. And I was wondering whether there was a way that I could utilize AI and artificial intelligence to take everything I know about manifestation. Chances are you're listening to one of our podcasts and perhaps you're tuning into a question and hoping that your question might have been asked by someone else and that perhaps Matt might ask it. Well, the good news is I actually found a way. I created Matt's Digital Mind, and I want you to think about this. This AI was built from scratch, blank canvas with nothing else programmed into it, purely from everything I fed it. So every single podcast I've ever been on, my entire book, all my courses that exist on the internet, everything I've ever done, every single email newsletter that I've ever written, and I've been writing those for 5 years, has been fed into a digital representation of my mind. And what that means is you can actually use my mind to ask me any question, and I'll only answer it based on the intelligence that I've given it. The people in my community absolutely rave about it, and we don't talk about it enough. If you'd love to just come in and try it out, then it's available within the Beyond community. It's there as one of the assets, and come in and try it. You can join with a 7-day free trial on the link below. Come in, explore the community, go and check out my digital mind. And if it is not for you, then you can leave. And perhaps you've just got one question you'd love to ask my mind. Come and join us for 7 days and then cancel your membership. It's absolutely fine. But I think you're gonna love it. And with that said, back to the episode.
I'm wondering the same as, as Michelle. How can I reverse engineer into smaller stepping stones without falling into controlling the how? There's a lot of controlling the how here. A lot of people are struggling with that. I feel like it falls into the letting go.
Yes, it does.
And surrendering, really. I feel like these— this is very much— I can sense the—
People are getting confused. You've got a big vision and a small. It's the same thing. It's a vision.
Yeah.
So what's the how? The how is figuring out how it's going to manifest.
Yeah.
That's just not your job.
No.
Your job, your job is to act, take action, see it in your mind, meditate on it, work on your mindset, work on your beliefs, and not figure out how you're going to make the money.
And I also just want to give just a very, very quick analogy here. People say I'm not very good at surrendering, and I, I know I'm not very good at surrendering my manifestations. However, we all surrender in life every single day. Example of that is I find it hilarious that you order something on Amazon, let's just say, or you order a takeaway, you order something in a restaurant, you do not question the process. Well, where's that ingredients coming? How is it getting to me? Like, when— you don't question any of it. You, you order it, place an order online, you do what you want to do, and you carry on. You carry on.
Such a good analogy, isn't it?
When you think about it, you're not contacting the delivery driver from Amazon and going, well, hang on a minute, well, how are you getting it in the van and what are you doing to get it here?
Why don't we talk about though, because you admit, and I love your honesty, that you do struggle with the how and the letting go.
I struggle hugely with the how because, I mean, what's the how? In my head, I'm like, I have to know how it's happening. That's just me in life. I have to know how everything's happening and going on. So it's a really, it's a really, uh, I It is one that does come up for me a lot, and it's a big test. But as you get deeper into this work, and as I'm going deeper into it, and as I'm getting older, I'm realising that I've grown a baby. Didn't question how he was going to get here.
No, you didn't.
So kind of—
But you did question—
Let go a little bit.
We're here now. We've spoken about this on another episode in this room because of you.
Yeah.
But not because of Coruscant's ego.
No.
You were struggling with direction for, for your presence.
Yeah.
You knew that you weren't just a background person, but you didn't know how you'd get it, you'd overcome and find that. And we weren't even thinking of the podcast, but you put your faith in the unknown. You asked, you set the intention, and you allowed it to guide you in a meditation.
Yeah, I did.
Didn't you? So I think it's, it's that reminder, isn't it?
For sure. Yeah. Matt, how have you worked through the years with talking in public, sharing your story, new clothes? Was that natural, and was it just the process of becoming the new Matt? And did he take the lessons, or was he helped in any way with all of this? I'm curious to know.
I was always helped by you, wasn't I? Well, I think for anyone that understands how I do my my vision practice, it's always written in my book, Be, Do, Have. You always go and meet that future version of you and you ask, who would I love to be? So if an infinite amount of me's exist in the field, which one would I love to be? Go and select him, go and meet him, go and look at him. And I've had to work on it, but I'd always see if I'm thinking a year out, there's a version of me that's slightly upped his game. In some respect, you know, I've lost weight over the years. I've spent more money on clothes, you know, so I'd see that. But then I'd ask him what he did as well. And he'd say to me, you know, yeah, I've upped my game, or I've listened to Corison. I've let Corison lead, you know. But with the public speaking, I think I've been— this is my sort of what, 2023, I think was my first ever talk in Glastonbury. And I just, I think I'd rehearse it. I'd rehearse it and rehearse it and rehearse it. I've never done slides, but I'd rehearse it in my mind. And I always, I used this story again in my book from Michael Phelps, the swimmer. And I was fascinated by him when I was researching him. And I was definitely researching him, you know, end of 2023 too, before I did my first talk, which was how he wouldn't just rehearse winning every race. He'd rehearse—
Yeah.
Things going wrong. And that threw me a little bit because I thought back then, you know, with manifestation and visualization, you should only visualize best-case scenario. But here was Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time, who is visualizing things going wrong. And, you know, he jumped in to swim the 200-meter butterfly in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He's swimming, he's swimming, he's swimming. His goggles break and they leak with water, and every other swimmer would normally stop. You, you, if your goggles have broken, Olympic final, you're out. But because he'd rehearsed swimming so many times in his mind in rehearsal, and also swimming with his eyes closed, his body knew what to do. So he was with his eyes closed visualizing in real time swimming. And he knew exactly when to turn. And he ended up winning, setting a new world record and winning gold.
Amazing.
And that there taught me that when I visualize speaking on stage, will I probably, is there a probable chance that I might be nervous?
Yes.
So even to this day, what do I do? Of course, I'll visualize what I'm wearing, body language, how I'm gonna hold myself, but I definitely visualize first the prep. Right. There might be something that triggers me. There just, there might be something. I might feel like I'm really thirsty. So I have my EFT tapping to hand, a 5-minute grounding meditation to hand, you know, but that's how I handle it. But a help along the way, and perhaps you could answer it too, because you've really helped guide me, is, is suppose how I look is because of you.
I think, I think it's with everything, life goes in levels.
Yeah.
And I think when you get a feeling that you've outgrown a level, I think when you get that feeling that you've outgrown somewhere, it's time to move. And every part of you, fear, wants to keep you in the known, wants to keep you where you are, but you have to move. When you get— I always think when we get too comfortable, it's time to go. And that's genuinely my motto in life. When I feel really, really comfortable, as much as I'm like, ah, this is great, no, move now. Shift. It's time to move because—
How do you feel that?
Uh, I think it's just a knowing inside of me that in order to get to where we want to get to and what we want to achieve with what we're building, it requires a mindset far beyond just being comfortable.
What are you saying? So when you get comfortable—
When I get comfortable, it's time to move.
Yeah. Yeah, it's so true.
It's time to move because you don't get— success isn't created in the comfortable moments. It's not created in, you know, growth isn't created in those moments that feel comfortable. It's the moments that feel really uncomfortable and like you've stepped into a world where you don't belong is the time where you're where you should be.
You know, I think that's such a good point, Corisande, that I want to just touch on. You're a master of that. You're an absolute master at that in our personal life. And I'm a bit of a victim to being comfortable. And I'm more than happy to admit to anyone listening, I know my body, my ego doesn't like change. I get comfortable. I like my office. I like writing my book, my newsletter, filming content, having my coaching clients.
Your little nest.
And I'll have a level of a vision, but you come along and you're like, You know, right, come on.
That's why we make such a great team.
But you did that, if I reflect back, even when I used to work at Waitrose, which is quite a nice supermarket here in the UK for any of our listeners from abroad. And you, you, you turned to me and you said, are you—
Babe, you— I can't claim any of that.
You did not work there. No, no, no, but no, but you did say— but not, not there's anything wrong with working in Waitrose, but you did say to me I said you were better than that. You said you were better than that.
Yeah.
And then you helped me. You, you went and bought me a suit and you drove me, or your mum drove us around when I handed out CVs to real estate offices back in the day.
Yeah. Do you want to do the next question or do you want me to?
I'll find one for you.
Okay.
Okay, so we've got a question here from Bettina. Good morning. I would like to know how you managed to live a normal and natural life. Knowing the path and simultaneously mastering to forget, going ahead with the program subconscious, acting free and unclenched to the method. How do you both manage, especially because your life depends about talking this about this stuff all day long?
So yeah, the answer, Bettina, is we don't live a normal life. No, we don't live a normal life.
No, we're we're we're on all the time.
No, we live a normal life. is balancing this world. So, how we balance this world is, that's why we live in Cornwall.
Yeah.
And we don't live anywhere else in the UK because Cornwall forces us to be present. It forces us to connect back to the simple things like nature, just staring at a nice view, going on the beach as a family. It forces us to do that. So, that is a huge reason. But it also gives us the freedom to step out of that world and really go for what we are Doing and, you know, do things like go for a week and do an amazing event and then come back to that space. So, it's separating your life into sections, I think. It's realising that everything can't mould together. You have to have a section that's home, and when you're at home, you're at home and you are able to switch off. But when you're in work mode, you're in work mode and you're able to be and to— To really allow yourself that space to have those different, like different coats. Like you put on different coats for different seasons. It's the same with what we do. I think we have a coat that's for when we're at home, we're at Cornwall, and we're just chilling. But then there's a coat that goes on when we run an event, and then a coat that goes on when we run a retreat, and when we film our content, there's a level.
Yeah.
That you and I just don't go below. And I think it's just realizing that there's time for switching off, but there's time for going for it.
But also, I think if we're honest, we love this work so much.
So much, yeah.
And when you develop, and I mean this, you develop a relationship with the universe. And I'm not just saying that spiritually, it's a deep knowing that you're connected to something else. And it becomes like an invisible friend.
Yeah.
You know, and why would you ever want to stop chatting to those friends? And, you know, yeah, okay, we might switch off from like business planning and events and selling tickets and people joining our community and things like that. But I think you and I are always plugged in in some respect, you know, always. But I think—
I don't think that can ever leave you, can it?
No, but I think having Humphrey is— we could be more present with each other though, couldn't we, if we're honest? You know, you and I, because we love what we do, we could still own the fact that we should find more time for Matt and Corisande.
We walked through the train station today, and Humphrey isn't with us today. We're here in London for the day filming, and we walked through and we were like, oh, we can hold each other's hands. I felt like a teenager again, like we just stepped out of the cinema and we were like, Yeah. So it just having in a way, sometimes stepping away from the world of it gives you time to sort of come back to yourself.
We had another amazing guest called Nina on who, if anyone's not seen Nina's podcast, so, so, so amazing. So incredible of how she got to where she is through just that sort of intuitive drive. But one thing she said which really resonated and stood out for me is how she's got 2 boys. And the one thing she's she does is she's super busy. She runs a super successful aesthetics clinic here in London. And she said that every day, regardless of what she does, she spends 20 minutes with the boys, but she doesn't ask questions.
I love that. Yeah, it was amazing. Great advice.
She doesn't lead. She follows. So she will be present with them with no phone, nothing else, no questions asked, nothing. Just follow, let them lead, and she follows. And I thought that was so amazing because, because I think as parents, even with Humphrey being not even 2, I might say, he's got this little coffee machine, of course, because we love coffee. So he, you know, he loves like pretending, but I might say to him when I'm with him, oh, Humphrey, let's make a coffee. And I, I think it really taught me that actually to be present Is to follow.
Yeah.
Is to follow the science.
Yeah.
Is to follow the essence of what it means to be present.
Yeah.
It's to follow.
Yeah.
And let the universe lead or let your children lead. And I think if you haven't got children, like, I might even try with you to let you lead and let me follow. But you then might say, Matt, why are you not talking? But you get the point.
Well, if you're thinking like me, planning Are you thinking like, let me lead us in planning something? Because we know that might not materialise.
I didn't give you any context. Cora sounds so funny because we're, you know, we're here today and, you know, she's like, you have no real idea what time the podcast starts because I lead too much.
But it's a good thing because nothing would get done. Okay, so we have a lovely question from Robin. Um, and, oh, this is a great question. I love this. So, are you both on the same frequency? If so, how do you know? Do you have signs that you see showing you that your manifesting is on target? Thank you so much, Robin.
We're not always on the same, uh, vibration because I think things individually could, could knock us off for whatever reason.
Oh, absolutely.
Um, but we—
About bringing each other back on it.
We— I think with, I think with being on the same frequency as your partner or your friend or your children is always knowing. It's a little bit like riding a— if you ever imagine, you can just try and imagine being on a surfboard where there's 2 people. Obviously, the goal is you're both on there and you're riding a current, which we see as a wave, but materially it's just energy. That's the beautiful thing with the concept and the analogy of surfing. So the idea is, in an ideal setup, that you You're both on the board and you're both being carried. But the reality is one of us is probably going to be knocked off. So the goal is you're on the board together and the board doesn't really move because it's such a big board. It's not really going to move properly without the other one being on. So I think where you and I are good is being conscious that when one of us has fallen off. And I think with You, I try my hardest to not coach you. I find that hard because to everyone else, I'm a coach. To you, I'm your husband. And I do find that tricky. But when I know you're, you're not, when you've been knocked off, I'll sit with you and I'll say, do you want your husband or would you like a coach?
Thank you. It's actually so helpful.
And you say, I just want my husband in this moment.
Yeah. Yeah.
I just want you to listen. And I'm like, okay.
Yeah.
Can I just coach you on that thing?
Is there any way I could just tell you how you could do that slightly different? Yeah.
But you've got to just be— I think it starts with just being aware if the other one's off, and sometimes they might just need someone to listen to them.
Absolutely.
Corisande.
Yes.
I think we've covered this a little bit, but it's a question for you from Claire about, I would love to know how to take aligned action, but without it coming from a place of force. Where is the line drawn?
Okay. I can give a really good analogy. I want you to imagine that force— so I want you to feel both emotions here, Clare. So think about the feeling of alignment and the word alignment. Alignment to me feels like, well, it's got the word line in it. Everything's straight. It feels It feels very easy, alignment, it just flows. Force feels very like you're pulling something heavy.
Mm-hmm.
You're forcing, you're pushing, you're physically pushing something. So I want you to imagine those 2 emotions. And whenever anything comes up in front of you, and there's the option to align yourself to it or force it, you've really got to ask yourself here, am I pushing this up a hill? Is it heavy on me? Am I physically, to get this to move, am I pushing it? Because if that's the answer and you're having to do it, then you're forcing it. However, if you take a step and then another step comes, and another, you know, like, let's imagine an invisible staircase, right? A step is shown in front of you, you take the step, and then another step is shown. That just keeps happening. These steps just keep coming up in front of you, and it feels very natural. It feels very organic. It feels like it's just flowing. Don't question it, just go with it. But I think if you're having to push something, you're physically having to do that, you're forcing that outcome.
It's brilliant.
So much harder.
I also would say, before we wrap up this conversation, I think this is a great question to finish on, just using this example. of us being on the podcast.
Oh, great example. Yeah.
For anyone that can put this into their own life.
Yeah.
Let's imagine right now, Cora-san and I would love to manifest or align with a brand or an organization or a person that has a product that we feel that we use and that we feel our listeners would love.
Yeah.
I hate's a strong word, but I really dislike it when people are promoting cat food on a spiritual podcast because you clearly know, okay, I know Is that happening? Yes.
Right.
Okay. Yeah, I know. I know, I know, you know, you want your podcast to be profitable, but personally, I feel myself, if I, if I'm going to do this, I'd love to align with a brand where I feel like I'm using those products myself and that I genuinely feel there's an alignment that my listeners, that it's an ad, but you know what, Matt and Corissa genuinely use it. And I'd, yeah, I'd like to try it out. And it's, and it's a co-creation because we're helping the brand, they're helping us so we can scale. So here's, here's an example of aligned and forced. Aligned action would be, well, why don't I reach out with my team to 20 companies that I know I use their products and it feels aligned, and I'll create a media kit, I'll send a nice email, and I'll reach out, and I'll take the aligned inspired action. Because intuitively it feels like I should. Okay, take the action. I don't hear back from any of them. Now, I could do nothing, or I could now choose to force it. I might just reach out again and just say, just circling back, and I might be being present to perhaps the sign 333. And knowing that's about communication and creativity.
self-expression.
So, you know, I'm going to reach out again, but then I'm going to let go and I'm going to hold at all times in my gratitude and my meditation on an aligned sponsor, aligned organization that sponsors us. And when an opportunity comes, perhaps another company that's not in that original 20, I'll reach out. But forced action is reaching out every single time. And going, they still haven't responded. I'm phoning, I'm phoning them now. I'm phoning them and sending 10 emails and 20 emails and nonstop relentless. So that's the difference between aligned inspired action.
And it's kicking the door down rather than trying to open it.
Exactly. All right.
Well, great chat.
Yes, great chat. Thank you to everyone who has asked our questions. And, um, if you haven't already, please like, subscribe to the channel. That's that one small favor that we would ask because Just if you're watching this on YouTube, then, you know, that will go a long way and share the episode with anyone that, you know, might find it valuable. And again, like I said at the start, please ask your questions for any more episodes like this that Corisanna and I do. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
