A creator (Matthew Kelly) recounts founding a company around February 2020 that manufactured eucalyptus-based bedding (pillowcases, Levo cover, fitted sheets) in Portugal and initially saw good Facebook-ad-driven conversions. By Q1 2021 many products began failing; the speaker attributes failures to manufacturing mistakes (a necessary treatment omitted) and emphasizes eucalyptus as a delicate textile, leading to escalating customer complaints.

Validating an idea. How did that look to you? So company formed, let's say Q1, so February 2020. Originally we were manufacturing in Portugal pillowcases, Levo cover, fitted sheet. And we were running, as you say, Facebook ads converting relatively well. So I'm like, okay, so the concept kind of works. In Q1, 2021, pretty much all the products started failing. Back to everything failed, Everything failed. One of the manufacturers for the white company, I'm like, great. They're going to know what they're doing. And they do with cotton and with linen and with lots of other things and with eucalyptus. They don't know what they're doing. And there was a treatment was not added to our product at a particular stage of development. It's a delicate textile in itself, Eucalyptus. Remember, the first few customer, like, complaints came through. I'm like, this is weird. When more and more and more and more customers started complaining, I was like, okay, this is bad news.
