All right, so obviously you're a customer of Space Goods. At least.
I feel like I have to be nice.
No, don't.
I am nice.
Anyway, all right, so this is me asking my part time team member and girlfriend questions about my brand. When we met, you were a dirty customer, I. E. A competitor. An actual customer of dirty. Right, so you're in the space. You knew spacegoods at the time.
Do you want the real story?
Yeah, go on.
My ex boyfriend used to use your brand. Yeah, that's how I knew about Space Kids.
Is he still a subscriber?
I don't know if he ever subscribed. Yeah, maybe. I don't know.
I'll be able to find him. Yeah, it's a good point actually.
Do you know his surname?
Yeah, I do.
It's really strange.
And would you say his full name?
No.
Artistly, but no, because he's, you know, I know surname. You probably watch this.
Probably. Yeah.
I was always due. Due diligence when you meet a new person.
That's what girls do, not guys. But anyway.
All right, anyway. What did you think of the brand at the time and what do you think now? Tell me honestly. I moan to you all the time about things we're trying to fix and improve and so on, but. And why were you a dirty customer and he was a Space Goose customer?
Like, I just never really researched. I saw an ad and I thought Pure Mushrooms weren't going to buy it because it sounds healthy. I didn't do it for the taste, I did it for the benefit. And what did I think of it back then? I don't think I ever tried it until I met you. Did I ever try his drink? Maybe? I don't know. Like genuinely, I actually don't know. And then when I met you, you sent me loads and I really liked it. And then we were tasting your new flavors recently and I think you can improve your flavors.
Yeah, I do agree, honestly.
Yeah.
Haven't changed massively since the start. They're still better than like 90% of brands in the space. I'm. I'm just saying that. But I still think there's room definitely to improve them, which we are now doing.
Apart from that, I think it's a cool brand actually.
That's not what you say to me all the time though. You always say like, I don't say anything, say it's tacky, it looks.
I've never said that cool enough.
I mean, I agree in certain areas.
Have I ever said that? No, I said your Instagram looks Tacky because your brand is colorful. I didn't say your brand's tacky.
Yeah. All right, so if you were. If you had a crystal ball and could create, you know, different, improved, better version of rainbow dust, say, like, what would you improve or what would you do? What would you introduce to the brand that we haven't currently done? Given how you.
Given my obsession with Dubai chocolate, I'd introduce a Dubai chocolate flavor.
We're actually looking at doing that.
I know.
I think we're now not doing it. For whatever reason.
I'd have more flavors with decaf options.
Why an anti decaf girl? Sorry.
I genetically cannot have caffeine.
Is that an opinion?
It's a fact.
Yeah. A lot of people still assume that rainbow dust is caffeine free. It's kind of a. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing, but people that say, oh, I've been wanting to quit caffeine. I quit caffeine and got rainbow dust. You are aware it's not decafe because.
You used to market it.
Yeah, yeah. But my point is. It's funny. That's funny. But then, like, the positive part of that is, well, they're obviously feeling much better than they were before. So even if it has caffeine, and it kind of proves my point, the caffeine.
Yeah, but people who can't have caffeine still can't drink it. I can't have your coffee flavor.
No, but I mean, people that are maybe sensitive and choosing not to have caffeine that have said, oh, I've changed the rainbow dust. I feel much better thinking it's decaf, but it's not. Which to my point is they're obviously, like feeling flow state rather than coffee anxiety, which is obviously much better because of the other ingredients.
I don't feel as anxious as I would a normal coffee. But I still can't have your coffee. So I would want to see more flavors that are just the mushrooms with the flavorings, you know, like you have, like your strawberry one, which I really love, but I can't.
Just the mushrooms. What do you mean?
As in, like, no actual caffeine in it. Just like the mushrooms and the adaptogens, like more decaf options of different flavors.
Yeah, it's a good point, actually. Can you remind me of that after?
Well, I mean, it's on video.
No, but just even today.
Yeah. Apart from that, what would I change? I think that's it.
Go on.
Maybe adding, like, collagen or protein or something. To some of the flavors. That'd be nice.
That's funny you say that.
My Matcha collagen in the morning.
Funny you say that. There's a whole new product coming. That's.
I love how I'm not in the loop, by the way. I'm supposed to be a team member and you don't tell me anything. I only get told. I only get. I only hear the stress, not the fun stuff.
Yeah. And then, like, how would you describe space? Because if you see, if you're describing someone that didn't know the brand, like, you know, you might describe, I don't know, fucking Gymshark is like a young person's gym brand. How do you describe space goods? What's your perception of the brand? Something I've been thinking about more recently.
As in not the product, but the actual brand.
Well, if you're just describing space goods, like, what would you say? What would you say is.
Well, actually, I was describing it to my nail tech today because she was drinking coffee since she was surgery, and I said, well, my boyfriend actually owns, like, a really cool mushroom. I always call it a really cool mushroom brand.
Well, that's what I mean, because I say pink mushroom brand.
I always say it's a really cool. That's what people think is mushroom brand. Mushroom coffee replacement brand brand. And she's. She was like, ew, does it taste of mushrooms? And I was like, no, it tastes like your normal coffee, but you don't get the jitters. That's kind of what I say.
Yeah. I think a lot of people assume anything functional tastes like shit, because in some brands it does, but it doesn't for us. I mean, it can taste worse in some cases, but I guess that's the challenge. Try and make it taste unfunctional while being better for you.
I think that's your problem, isn't it? Because people don't know until they taste it.
Yeah.
So they assume it's going to say that's. So they won't buy it because they see. I feel like a lot of people hate mushrooms. I love mushrooms. My favorite vegetable.
Yeah, but obviously, like, oh, no, it's a fungi.
It's not vegetable. But.
But I mean, like lion's man. This stuff function. Mushrooms in our blends, not the same as a. Whatever they're called, mushrooms.
But I think people think of it.
As that there's like three types of mushrooms. Functional, psychedelic, psychoactive, and, you know, cooking. What's cookie mushroom called? It's not like fucking chestnut. Yeah, it's not chestnut mushroom from Tesco. Is it different thing?
Yeah, but I think people just see mushroom and they think you've added like chestnut mushrooms and then they're like, oh, why the.
Yeah, probably. Yeah, that's a good point.
I think you should something.
A lot of functional stuff is way more niche than you think. Like we did this event, I wasn't there, but the brand did this event in the Birmingham Bull ring on like Black Friday, like two weeks ago, whatever. And like we gave out like 10, 000 samples and we're asking people that's give their email or whatever and answer a few questions. Most people had never heard of like Lion's man or Ashwagandha. Yeah, Such a London bubble in the UK especially. And you end up assuming when you're in a bubble of anything that everyone knows about your thing, even just in like other stuff. I assume everyone knows about E commerce, for example, and 95 as in like how to run an E commerce business. Not literally buying stuff. Most people don't know that. But then it's the same with like functional ingredients. It's still new and you assume like, oh, you know, the market's small or whatever, but the market was smaller and is growing, but it's definitely not reached saturation and matured fully yet.
I still think it's quite niche, but.
Then more and more brands come in, of course copying us.
But to an average person who's into the gym but not into like wellness, they still don't really know what that is. For example, like my nail tech, she like goes to the gym but she's like, what do you mean mushroom coffee? Like it's still not like a really known thing unless you're like actually into wellness.
I think yeah, it's quite niche which is why we kind of position as don't lead with mushroom. It's more like functional coffee. Coffee that helps with XYZ coffee. Plus it just so happens to have these ingredients taste good, be all in one and look cool. So that's kind of the angle. Any questions for me? Given we're trying to make banger clips for social and ads, as always, we're going to do some customer calling next. In fact, you could hammer that. Just do a few more. I've been waiting on a spreadsheet with numbers. He's gonna help me with the VPN. We're gonna WhatsApp call if anyone answers on a Wednesday at 1pm in the UK. But we can try lunch break. We can try. What would you rate the brand based off Price and taste out of 10?
I don't know how much it costs.
You don't know how much it costs?
29 per bag. I don't know. I get it for free. 29 per bag. Price and taste. I think, I actually think that's a really reasonable price. Some stuff. Is it? Yeah, I think it is.
Well, think about you're making an ad, so don't say it. Isn't it?
Okay, sorry. Okay. I thought we're being brutally honest. No, yeah, I think. Okay, wait, ask the question again.
How do you think we compare to other brands and other options in the space like price, flavor wise, etc.
Flavors the best for sure. One of the best or the best actually. Price. It's also really good. It's like £1 per cup. Right. Which is way cheaper than your Starbucks coffee and it makes you feel better. So it's a win. Win.
Yeah, I think if you compare to people compared to like instant coffee and yes, it's expensive. But then if you compare to any coffee you buy out ever, like Starbucks Costa or whatever, it's significantly cheaper, like 20% of the price. And then also if you compare to buying loads of supplements and coffee, it is also cheaper. But compared to coffee alone, which is kind of the problem with positioning is coffee. Plus it helps with like. I understand what it is and when to take it, but it doesn't help with like, oh, why would I pay this much for coffee? Do you know what I mean?
Yeah, but coffee is actually quite expensive. Like coffee beans for a coffee or.
Like what necessary instant coffee or you mean like beans?
Well, beans or even like I guess maybe instant coffee is cheap, but I feel like a lot of people don't drink instant coffee. They will either have it instant coffee's dog.
Yeah.
For their coffee machine or like an espresso or like a better quality coffee anyway, which is actually like what, £15 in a shop, which isn't actually that much less. And then if you factor in like the adaptogens and stuff, it's actually way cheaper.
Yeah, questions to me. Then we'll try the customer calling, which I'm nervous to do, but we'll try it. You're fine.
What we gonna. What are you gonna do for the customer calling?
I've got a list of our superfans that have ordered like 20 times. Just call them and say yo, any feedback? Thanks. Like as an ad, are you gonna.
Give them free product as a thanks or something?
Maybe.
I think that would be quite good. I saw someone do that actually on TikTok they called their, like, 10, like, super fan customers, and they gave them, like, the gift of Christmas. Of, like, that's a good idea. And that's the. My friend that does kodo, she gave them, like, the gift of, like, a nice smell or something because it's a perfume. And they said, we're gonna send it to you and you can gift it to whoever you want for Christmas.
Yeah, that's good.
