So editing is one of the number one reasons that most people quit doing faceless YouTube videos, or really any type of YouTube videos for that matter. In fact, even if you're doing personal brand videos like I'm doing right here, editing can be a huge pain. It's something that personally I hate. It was one of the first things that I outsourced and got other people to do, but that's really expensive. And I was only able to do that once I had a pretty big YouTube operation. Now by the end of this video, you're gonna know exactly how to edit your YouTube videos from start to finish. Now for some quick transparency, this video is sponsored by Movavi. Movavi. You can download Movavi for completely free at the link down in the description. You can follow along with me even just with the completely free version. I'll also show you pricing and a discount code later if you do want to get full access. But basically, if you compare this against other editors like CapCut, for instance, which is $179 a year, with Movavi you can get just the editor for about $70 a year, or you can get the whole video suite including a screen recorder and some other tools for $100 per year. And if you do want to use another editor, feel free to do that. The fundamentals I'm going to be showing you here today apply to almost any video editor out there, but I do really like Movavi. It's very simple, it's straight to the point, and if you complicate your life using super complicated editors like I tried to do when I was starting YouTube, it will drive you crazy. So it's really nice to have a straight-to-the-point, simple editor, and there's a bunch of tools that will save you a lot of time, and we'll talk about that in just a second. So first things first, once we have Movavi downloaded, then we can use any of the these tools right here. Now, depending on the plan, you may also even have access to the screen recorder, but if you don't, you can use other screen recorders like OBS, for instance, to record your screen. However, the video editor here is world-class. This is an incredibly great editor. So we're going to go ahead and launch that. Once we have the video editor pulled up, then we can go ahead and add files. We just click this button right here, and I actually have a screen recording file for the video that we're going to be editing. Right here. And this video is going to be a tutorial that shows people how to use my software TubeMagic. Because as you know, on this channel I talk a lot about promoting something with your channel so you can actually make a lot of money from it, as opposed to just making random entertainment videos like most people do. And so this video fits that specification. Now, if you're not sure what type of channel to run or what types of videos to make, do not worry at all. There's only a couple niches that I recommend doing right now. And you can actually see the video that I posted before this one if you wanna see those niches. There's a bunch that can work incredibly well, and Movavi can edit all of those types of videos. So once you have your clip right here, then we're going to simply drag it onto the timeline. Now, for a lot of faceless channels, something to note is that you're going to likely have a voiceover. For this one, the voiceover is baked directly into the screen recording since I simply talked and used my laptop to record. However, if you used, for instance, an AI voiceover using something like ElevenLabs, which is something I recommend, it's incredibly good, indistinguishable from human voices. If you use something like that, then you can download it on your computer and then import that directly into Movavi. Then when you have your voiceover, you'll simply drag it down onto the timeline. What's pretty cool here as well is that you can also turn your speech into text. So you can let their AI recognize the speech and turn it into subtitles, and you can change all of these specifications and everything. Now, I actually do recommend doing this, but not for the entire video. I only recommend having this for the introduction of your video to keep people's attention in the beginning. So what we're going to go ahead and do is click Generate right here, which will generate our auto subtitles. And there we go. Now we have these default subtitles essentially playing throughout the video corresponding to what I'm talking to. This is a personal preference if you want these or not. Some channels have them throughout the whole entire video because they think, you know, if somebody, for example, is watching at work and they don't have sound on, or if they're watching in public and they just want to get the information. But to that, personally, I would say just use YouTube's auto-subtitling. You don't necessarily need these in the videos. However, I do think it keeps engagement to have these just at the beginning of the video for the first 5 or so seconds. Then what you can do, if you don't want it throughout the entire video, is click the subtitle you want to start deleting them on, hold Shift, select all of them, and click Delete on your keyboard, and it deletes all those. Now you just have them for the very beginning of your video. I'm going to delete these here real quick because I want to show you how to edit first and foremost, and then we can go ahead and add things like subtitles later. So let's go ahead and watch through some of our video here and see what we need to cut out. Hey, how's it going guys? Welcome back to another video. In this video, I'm going to be showing you —So as you can see, I made a mistake right there and I stopped, I had to clear my throat. So that's obviously something we're going to be cutting out. And in order to do that, what we can do is kind of zoom in on the timeline by using this slider right here. And then we can see this audio waveform right here where the next speaking starts. So this is my good take right here. So we're gonna drag this to align with the beginning of this. And then we're going to right-click and click Split. You can also click it directly here on this timeline bar right here. or you can also click Ctrl+B on your keyboard. Then we're going to want to delete this clip, and we're going to select Ripple Delete because that's going to delete the clip and then move all the other clips on the timeline to the beginning. So if we click that, now it should begin in the right place, and let's take a look. Do you want to write really good YouTube scripts? Well, the best way to do that is to use— That's perfect. Now we're simply going to go through this video and see where any mistakes are and cut those out. And you can kind of do that visually by looking right here on the timeline, and you can see where there's some big pauses in where I was talking, and that's likely stuff we're going to cut out. And we can click space on the keyboard here to play the script about— and there we go, there was a mistake there, so we will cut that because I was thinking of what to type in. And then we'll cut that right there and again do the ripple delete. And let's go see about The top 10 futuristic tech inventions. And here's another gap here that we need to go ahead and delete. There we go, perfect. So we go throughout the whole video deleting any mistakes. Obviously, if you're using an AI voiceover, there isn't going to be any mistakes likely, unless you don't like the sound of something and you want to regenerate it and replace it, which you can certainly do. However, if you're doing, for example, personal brand videos where you're sitting in front of a camera, or if you're doing faceless videos like this, doing screen recording videos, there are going to be mistakes that you need to cut out. Now, a pure screen recording video can get a lot of views, but usually you want to do some things to spice it up. So we'll talk about that in just a second. But first, what I want to do here is to actually crop this video because you can see my whole bookmark bar here and it looks a little bit messy in my opinion. I just want to be showing TubeMagic, which is the focus of that video. So in order to do that, what I'm going to do is select crop, and there is an AI auto crop, which is really great. Like, let's say you have a 16:9 clip, which is a rectangle clip, but you want to change it to be a vertical or vice versa. That can be really great for that. It'll make it look really good and aesthetically pleasing. But for this, I'm just gonna do manual because this is a super simple crop. We all— we literally want to do here is to drag this and then reposition it, and this shows what is going to be showing. On there. There we go. That's all we want to do. Then we just click Apply, and now we have our video cropped. Now, another thing to note as well, if we, for example, wanted to adjust this audio— because I was just recording the audio directly onto my laptop, it's not the best, I wasn't using a microphone. So if we want to improve it, what we can do is go ahead and select the clip and then select Detach Audio. What that will do is put the audio on another timeline and then allow you to adjust anything that you'd like with it. One of the most important tools here is if you double-click this, I highly recommend you select normalize. What this will do is get rid of any peaks because I was using my laptop audio. Sometimes the audio is gonna peak up and it can cause a really unpleasant sound for people listening to that when that happens. So this will normalize it, so it'll keep it all consistent. And also, if you have audio that's too quiet, it'll also fix that. And if it goes up and down, it'll fix all of that. And now, what if AI could kind of just edit your videos for you? Well, it turns out it actually can to a large extent within Movavi. Because let's say you have some more mistakes here at the end of this clip right here, you can use this tool that cuts out any silence. And so if you click Remove Silence, as you can see, it cut out any extended silence that was throughout this clip right here, and it puts splits between them, and this will keep your video so much more engaging. It won't automatically cut out mistakes, so you'll have to manually take out any mistakes. However, it will cut out those silences that will keep your video so much more punchy and straight to the point, which will keep people engaged a lot more. And then there's a bunch of transitions as well. I don't use transitions too much, to be honest. Really, my most used transition is literally just a simple crossfade. So this is really the only one that I use on my channels. And I don't even use it all the time. Most of my cuts are just a simple straight cut, and that's due to the fact that you don't have to be too fancy with this. I recommend keeping things simple and keeping the point of the video the point, which is getting the information that you want to get out there out there. And you don't need, you know, crazy fancy editing or anything else in order to do that. Now you might be saying, Matt, that's kind of ironic given, you know, the level of editing that you have on your videos here on Make Money Matt, and That's true, but I'm at a point now in my journey where I can afford to hire editors to do that. But you can do all of those things directly here within Movavi. You also get access to different effects if you were to use them. Again, not too crucial for faceless YouTube videos or for the types of YouTube videos we're likely going to be running. However, what is going to be very, very useful is text, and this is going to be titles. I recommend having titles play periodically throughout your video. Due to the fact when you're making a point about something, for instance, let's say you're running a space channel and you're talking about a specific star's name that's kind of hard to pronounce. That'd be a great instance to put a title up on the screen. Let's say you're telling people at the end of this video right here, I'm giving people a call to action on where they can access TubeMagic. It would make sense then to put a title that says TubeMagic.com so people know where to use that. So we can simply drag in this title right here, and then we can go to edit it, and we can put Tubemagic.com, and we can change the size so it'll fit, and we can put that right there like so. We can also even put a background on top of it as well. And what I really like about Movavi is if you play through this here, it's really cool how it fades in to show the title and then fades out by default as well. That's really nice. It's just little touches like this that allow you to move really fast, as opposed to if you're using another editor, you would have to manually add in that and edit everything. It takes a lot of time, but this is a lot faster because you have all these different title presets that you can go ahead and use here. Another really cool thing is, let's say we've applied all these effects and we've applied audio editing tools and other things to a specific clip, and we wanted to copy all those attributes to another clip. They have something called Fast Effect Copying. Where you can copy all of your settings and effects and even color tweaks and everything else directly from one clip to another on the timeline. So if you forget to do it to one clip, you can simply copy it over, which is great. And now another thing, if you really want to spice up your videos a lot, is to have AI clips play throughout your video, or at least just at the very beginning in the intro of your video. So for instance, I generated this Sea Dance 2.0 video right here that was really good. And by the way, if you wanna learn how to generate those videos, feel free to check out my other videos here on the channel that I've done talking about how to do that. Ddance is the current best leading video model. So once we have that clip, we can then put it at the beginning of our video. That'll help keep people engaged. And also let's say we wanted to have someone who's the quote unquote character of the channel, like I like to talk about. Well, you can generate an image of a character, have them pop up in the bottom right-hand corner of the video, and then have them there for the video. That builds IP and that builds an actual brand and increased trust with your viewers. It's something I highly recommend doing, especially with this new AI era that we're going into. The characters that you own are going to be the most important thing that you can own. You don't just want to be creating commoditized content like most people are going to be using AI to do. And then you'll go ahead and drag in that SeeDance 2.0 clip for the beginning right there, add in titles throughout the video periodically that correspond to what's being talked about, generate automatic AI subtitles for just the beginning of the video to keep people's attention This is similar to what people like MrBeast do as well. Feel free to also add in other images. Like, I can put in this image right here of the home page of tubemagic.com since that's what we're talking about. I can put that into Movavi, and then if we want to put some movement on that image— this is just a different image right here, but I'll show you it as an example— then what I can do is go ahead and select Pan and Zoom, and then I can select for either a top to bottom, right to left, left to right, and this will add some nice movement on it. So I like this right to left one, so I just drag that in right there. and then it'll show you the path of the movement right there. And if everything looks good, of course you can adjust this so you can have it finish there. And then you can drag this right here to have a playthrough for the entire clip. And then you can have it focus on what you'd like it to focus on for that specific image. And so then we have the image of the website homepage that we also put as we're talking about it. We put the titles periodically throughout the video explaining what's being talked about, maybe another couple AI videos also throughout it. And then now our video is done and ready to export. And in order to do that, You just click Export right here. Then my recommendation is to choose High Quality because we want it to be as high quality as possible for YouTube. And then choose the location you'd like to save it to, give it a title. I recommend giving it the actual title that you'll upload to YouTube, and then click Start. And so here's the finished video right here that we just made. So you want to write really good YouTube scripts? Well, the best way to do that is to use a software called TubeMagic. Now TubeMagic is a software that I made specifically for myself for writing YouTube scripts. And if you go into TubeMagic, this is what it looks like right here. And we did all that just in a couple minutes thanks to all the tools that Movavi gives us. But do keep in mind that if you just use the free version, you can't export videos longer than 60 seconds and videos will have a watermark. But once you're on a paid plan, you can export videos as long as you want with all of the AI editing tools that I've shown you today with no watermark at all. And if you want the full version with all of this unlocked, feel free to use the code MAT25 for 25% off the 1-year plan, and the link for that will be down in the description. Now, editing is incredibly important for YouTube videos, but it is only half the battle. Once you have an amazing video, people aren't just going to by default watch it. You need to do a few things in order to get as many views as you possibly can on YouTube, and these are things that almost nobody talks about. If you want to discover what those things are, as well as how to monetize your channel and actually make it into a real business, in order to potentially make a lot of money, then feel free to check out this video next to me right here, which is basically a free course and a free guide for doing exactly that. It'll show you the real secret for getting views and making a lot of money from your YouTube channel. My name is Matt Parr. Hope you got value. Thanks to Movavi for sponsoring this, and I'll see you in the next one.
