If your videos get stuck on 0 views... Do THIS

Matt Parr, a creator with over a billion channel views, walks through fixing zero-view videos: verify your account and complete channel branding to build YouTube's trust score, then deliver more value than competitors by combining proven ideas. He recommends creating a one-hour anchor video that other videos link to, optimizing thumbnails and titles, and targeting hyper-specific niches like "creatine for people over 50."

If you've been uploading videos for a significant period of time on YouTube and they're still stuck at zero views, then you're in the same boat as thousands of other YouTubers, and you need to do what I'm about to share with you in this video. This will help you get out of zero view jail because being stuck there is not random. There is a reason for it, and there is a very easy way of getting out of it, which I'm going to show you today in this video. And how do I know I can help you? Well, my name is Matt Parr. I've been doing YouTube for the past 10 years. I've grown tons of channels, gone over a billion views on the platform, made over $10 million on the platform. I know what I'm talking about when it comes to doing YouTube. I'm gonna show you exactly how to get out of zero view jail. If you're tired of uploading videos and not seeing the results that you wanted, you are in the right place. And I'm going to show you several different methods, starting with the first method, which is to fix your channel's trust score. Now, trust score is how YouTube sees your channel, if your channel is a bot or a real person. And we do not want YouTube thinking that we are a bot or that we're producing bad quality spam content. then YouTube's gonna keep us locked in zero view jail. We wanna break out of that. So the way we're going to do that is by going to youtube.com/verify. If your account is not verified, that is number one, should be one of the top things on the list that you do ASAP. That's the first trust factor. The second trust factor is whether you have verified that you are not a bot or not. And the way you do that is by going down one of two paths. The first path is to upload your ID directly to YouTube, and then you can verify your identity that way. That will definitely boost your channel's trust score, I'm sure. Or the second path is uploading a bunch of videos you've established that your channel is trustworthy. This typically takes anywhere from 4 to 12 videos on your channel. Now, if you have more videos than that and you're still not getting the views that you want, keep watching because I'm going to show you some better strategies in just a second. But it's really important that we cover the fundamentals first, which are doing one of those two things. So once we've done that, the third trust factor is channel completeness. We want to make sure that our channel looks professional and it looks complete. And the way we do that is by having a channel logo, a banner art. Also, go to your YouTube Studio, Click Settings, go to Basic Info, and then scroll down till you see something called Channel Keywords. You wanna fill this out then with relevant keywords that relate to your channel. And now the fourth trust factor is your channel age and activity. What I recommend doing is going ahead and subscribing to all of the top videos within your niche that are making videos related to what you're doing. And then go through, spend 20, 30 minutes a day watching some of their videos. You're gonna get so many valuable insights even just for your own channel by doing this. But on top of that, it's also going to hopefully help YouTube see that, hey, this is a real person behind this channel. This is not just a bot. So now we've covered the basics. YouTube no longer thinks you're a bot. Now we have to look at the most important thing, your content. And I know you're probably looking for some crazy hack that you can do. I just showed you how to handle the logistics of making sure that YouTube knows you're a real human. But how do you make sure your content's actually good? Well, method number 2 is going to be solving what I like to call the value problem, because one of the biggest reasons your videos get zero views is due to the fact that they don't give enough value. You might be saying, Matt, value is so subjective. Like, uh, you could say something has entertainment value to one person, but to another person there's no entertainment value. Or you could say, hey, this video is helpful to this person, but it's not helpful to another person. So how do you solve the value problem? What does that even mean? And how can you do it using a data-backed approach? Well, the way that I recommend doing it is, number one, you want to model videos that have already worked. Don't reinvent the wheel, take ideas that have already worked. You might be saying, Matt, that's unethical. That's just stealing. Well, it's not because number one, we're going to give more value. Our video is going to be different than the original video we're doing. And number two, I would recommend you watch the video called Everything Is a Remix. It basically talks about this concept that everything we love in life, including movies and ideas and stories and everything else, are variations of things that have existed in the past that have morphed and people have combined things. So one of the best ways to get great video ideas is to combine two ideas that have already worked, therefore creating something new. But really nothing new was really created. Things were just combined in a new way. So think about the ways you can combine two different video ideas as well for getting great ideas for your channel. You might be saying, Matt, you still haven't answered my question. How do I make sure that my videos actually give value? And that brings me into my secret tool that I've created specifically for this called TubeMagic. Now I created TubeMagic because this is a huge problem, giving value on YouTube. Most people have no idea how to do it. The way to do it is to take the best information from videos that have already worked and then put it into your own video. And with TubeMagic, you can add multiple different videos as context and then select a word count. And by default, all of the best practices for writing incredible YouTube scripts will be built into TubeMagic by default. So then what TubeMagic will do is take all of the best information from multiple different context videos, run it through all of the best practices for writing incredible scripts, Follow your word count so it'll give you exactly what you want, whether that's a 10 or a 15 or a 20-minute video. And then you'll get a god-tier script that actually gives a lot of value, and it's doing so based off of a data-backed approach. Because by definition, your video will give the most amount of value if you take the things that have given the most amount of value from multiple other videos. Plus, we're using Claude as a backend for writing the scripts as well, so you're not gonna deal with issues of YouTube flagging your content as being AI-written. And also on top of this, if you really wanna go the extra mile, Go to the comment sections of your competitors' videos, find any questions anybody has, find any concerns or even funny jokes that people have left in those comment sections. Take those, put those also in your script. That adds even more value. You want your video to be the most valuable on the topic that you're doing within your niche, bar none. Now, method number 3 is one of the most overlooked things that nobody thinks about on YouTube when honestly it blows my mind that people don't because this is one of the most important things for growing your YouTube channel. And that is something that I like to call the next hour strategy. When is the last time you've thought about what people do the next hour after watching any of your videos? Most likely the answer to that question is, haven't really thought about it that much. And that's the issue. If you're not thinking about it and putting in place an actual plan, how are you going to benefit from session time on YouTube? So then the impressions that you do get and the views you do get, which you will be getting now due to the fact that we got Incredible Great Ideas, we've got our channel verified so that YouTube knows we're not a bot, and we've solved the value problem And now how do we keep people on the platform? Because if you keep people on YouTube, YouTube will push your content out to all the viewers and subscribers that you could ever want. And the way that we do that is by mastering the next hour strategy— how people spend their time the next hour after watching one of your videos. We don't want people clicking off of YouTube, we want them staying on YouTube for the next hour, ideally on our own videos. So here's the secret with this. Basically what you want to do is you wanna make an hour-long video on your channel that goes over whatever your channel teaches, whatever your channel entertains people with, whatever your channel happens to be about. You make a 1-hour version of that encompassing the overall theme of your channel. For example, this channel, my channel is about how to make money on YouTube without showing your face. So of course I made an ultra-long video here on my channel that goes over how to do just that. Then every single other video on my channel has an end screen. An end screen is simply a video that pops up at the end of other videos that you can set. And I have it set to go to my ultra long video. Therefore, I have a plan to keep people on YouTube for another hour. And not only that, you can also put links in the descriptions of your videos as well as the pinned comments, also all just directing traffic to that video. And by doing that, not only are you keeping people on YouTube, but if you're really smart with it, you also sell something at the end of that super long video. So after that hour that you've kept people on the platform, then you go ahead and sell something. That's how you make major money off of YouTube. That's how I've made over $10 million off of YouTube. Method number 4 is you want to make people click. Even if you have the best video in the world, but nobody clicks and actually watches your video, it doesn't matter. So how do you make people click? Great thumbnails and great titles. We got a great title already because we're either combining two ideas that have worked or taking an idea that has already worked. But for thumbnails, you want to make sure to use very bright colors. Make everything your thumbnail as big as possible, and also keep any text in your thumbnail as big as possible by using the least amount of words as possible. And if you look at all of the top thumbnails on YouTube in almost any niche, almost all of them follow these guidelines. Obviously there's exceptions to the rule, but this is what you should shoot for, and you should also model what works when it comes to doing thumbnails. The next method is becoming hyper-specific, meaning instead of doing a broad niche, like let's say you're just doing broad health videos in the past, Similar to what this guy Richard Kelly was doing. He was just doing general health videos on his channel. He's getting barely any views until one day he went hyper-specific. He did a specific supplement of creatine specifically for people over the age of 50 years old. I mean, how much more specific can you get? And guess what? He got 1 million views on that video. There's big audiences and niches that you probably aren't even aware of. So think about how you can become hyper-specific instead of just doing pets and animals as a whole, do videos targeted directly towards just Siamese cat owners or videos targeted just directly towards German Shepherd dog owners. This will help you speak directly to that audience. And plus, when your videos then surface within search results, browse features, the suggested video feed, and people who fit that audience demographic see that, they're gonna click a lot more. It'll help you get out of zero view jail a lot easier. Now, once you start all of this rolling, it's imperative that you keep it rolling. Meaning once you start getting momentum and you start getting really great ideas and you start executing on those ideas and making great videos on your channel and keeping people on the platform, YouTube can get very fun. And it's really important that we keep that momentum up as much as we possibly can, because I want to see you build a huge business off of YouTube. And I want to see you a year from now leaving a comment on this video saying, you know what, this video is really a wake-up call to really start giving value in my content, really start treating YouTube as a business opportunity that it can be.
