Journal reading 📖 Reflectjons on how I’m living & how it aligns with the vision I have for my life.

Matt Ragland reads from his journal about aligning his life with his vision, drawing on James 1:2–4. He reflects on how renewed consistency with Scripture, daily prayer, and worship music have shifted his desires toward God's will.

What's up everyone? Little reading from the journal. This is October 25th, so pretty recent. Reading James in the Bible, just finished Romans. Reading the Bible and daily prayer, listening to worship songs, it has changed my life. This is in James chapter 1, verses 2 through 4. Count it all joy when you meet trials and temptations. Ask God, for he gives generously. Ask in faith without doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave driven and tossed by the wind. We will fail— we will fade, we will fade away in the midst of our pursuits. Be steadfast under trial. Our temptations are rooted in our own desire. So some of that towards the end was also my, uh, commentary and what I've been thinking about. What do I really want? What am I wishing for? What am I working towards? What am I asking of the Lord? Because for a long time it felt like, am I, you know, what's going on? Asking for stuff, it's not working out. Am I asking in alignment with what God has called me to? And this year I feel like I've gotten a lot more in alignment. And that doesn't necessarily mean that like I'm getting more things, but I'm asking more rightly. I guess. And this is still stuff that I'm figuring out. I've been a Christian my whole life, but one of the great things about it is that, yeah, it's, it's a journey. And I'm still like remembering and realizing and re-remembering things. And what I want to encourage you on is just to continue to line yourself up with the Lord. And for me, that has come with getting back into the Bible. Like I said, I've been a Christian my whole life. This year I've read the Bible more consistently than I have in years. And I don't mean like 2 or 3 years, I mean probably like 10 years. And it has made, it has made all the difference in how I'm living, what I'm asking for, and what I'm working towards.
More from Matt

You don’t have to listen to me. But you do have to be intentional about the systems in your life.
