A short segment from a YouTube discussion (hosted by Matt Wolfe) arguing that current debates over AI product form factors repeat past skepticism about devices like the iPhone. The speaker suggests we cannot predict the future dominant form (apps, voice interfaces, new hardware like Humane), praises experimentation, and expects many failures before an unforeseen paradigm succeeds.

Most people were saying, like, couldn't humane have just been an app on your phone or whatever? It's like, don't. You know, I'm old enough to remember, like, when the iPhone came out and, like, people didn't think you needed that. Like, you didn't need an iPhone. Like, that was a totally new concept. And people are like, you know, really, you know, bashing on it. And. And so I think it's kind of naive to think that with AI that we know the form factor that's actually going to work in the future, right? Like, maybe everything will be voiced. So then why do you even need. Maybe you don't need the iPhone. Maybe saying you need the iPhone is like the kind of thing that doesn't make sense, right? And so these kind of new experiments, I think are great, and a lot of them are not going to work. And then somebody's going to, you know, probably nail kind of new paradigm there that, you know, that we can't fully, you know, fathom yet.
