Matt Wolfe examines whether Sam Altman disclosed his ownership of the Open Air Fund to OpenAI's board. Altman told the Senate he had no financial incentive in OpenAI, but the board apparently didn't know about the fund, raising questions about conflicts of interest and transparency at the company.
I think the most damning One was that OpenAI's board didn't know that Sam Altman owned the Open Air Fund.
That's the one I was looking for.
And in parallel, went in front of the Senate and said, I have no financial incentive in OpenAI.
I mean, to me, at first I thought, like, this is crazy. They learned about it from Twitter. But then, like, the more I thought about it, the more I'm like, that's actually not that really that big of a deal. Right? Because, like, at the time, the API was being used in a lot of tools. It was out there in the wild. And so, basically, OpenAI made their own sort of tool, using their own API to show off what it was capable of. It was a research preview when they first put it out. Right. So, like.
