Meta just unveiled Orion their groundbreaking new AR glasses, and they are mind blowing. Imagine wearing regular looking glasses that can display holograms, recognize objects, and even let you video call with 3D avatars. These aren't just concepts. I saw them in action myself at Meta Connect. Here's what makes Orion special. First, the display. They use silicon carbide lenses with micro LED projectors, giving you a huge 70 degree field of view. That's way wider than any previous AR glasses. But what's really cool is how you control them. There's voice control, there's eye tracking, and even a wristband that reads your muscle signals for subtle gestures. Pinch your fingers and boom, you've selected an app. Orion can identify objects around you, overlay digital info in the real world, and even help you cook by recognizing ingredients and showing recipes right in front of you. And the best part? No wires. A wireless puck in your pocket does all the computing, giving you the freedom to move around however you want. While Orion isn't available to buy yet, it shows us that the future of AR is closer than we think.
