A short transcript excerpt from a YouTube discussion (hosts Matt Wolfe and another speaker) about an unexpected erotica direction observed in ChatGPT following Sam’s tweet. The speakers contrast expectations for other AI (Elon/Musk and Grok), express surprise at the content, and raise curiosity about how the platform will implement age-verification without simple date prompts.
One of the wildest things about Sam's tweet there that we just read was the sort of erotica aspect of it. I would have not have anticipated ChatGPT to go in that direction. Elon, Musk and Grok, sure. That's what everybody expects him to do.
He tends to do that. Yeah. By default. But, like, Sam, like, are we okay? We thought, like, you were like, you know, PG 13. What is happening? Right.
Yeah, that'll be interesting. And I'm actually really, really fascinated and curious to see how they pull off their sort of age algorithm. Right. Because they basically said they're not going to do a, like, hey, what is your birthday? And then, like, select a date. Right.
In the uk, they, we do have these laws that when you need to enter, like, any adult sort of website, whether it was to buy alcohol, to buy this or to buy that, or like to watch something, you have to prove it with an idea. Like, you have to prove it with a selfie. And that selfie needs to be proven. And obviously the picture is not being used, but just to prove that you are an actually an adult. So I think it's going to be the same route as what we have in the UK right now.
