Short conversation (video) arguing that advanced AI models—highly capable at finding complex correlations—could discover major scientific breakthroughs (cures, climate solutions) but also expose government corruption, creating political incentives to resist or slow AI-driven transparency and progress.

I don't want to get political with this, but I do think that the government is going to be a bottleneck to progress. Reason I say that is because I was recently listening to a conversation with Ray Kurzweil and Geoffrey Hinton. They were talking about these AI models being the best correlation machines on the planet. They can find correlations between seemingly unrelated things that humans could never spot. And that's the reason why these large language models will likely find the cures to various cancers and diseases and possibly solve climate change and world hunger.
But they're also very good at finding corruption. I think it's going to be a big thing when you can actually see where all the money is moving in the government and that humans cannot process this. And it's a very easy way to like be corrupt and hide that is like through moving money around in like, really sneaky ways. And so, yeah, I can definitely see government people not wanting that to come out.
