A creator is making 100 YouTube videos to quiet their perfectionist voice. They spent $8,000 on production over ten months but left projects unfinished. Topics range from neuroscientist interviews about multiple personality disorder to philosophy in Minecraft.
I am going to make 100 videos because of the advice of MrBeast.
All you need to do— this applies to people who have not uploaded videos but have dreams of being a YouTuber— is make 100 videos and improve something every time. Do that.
I did this with art pieces. I created 100 art pieces, and from this process, I understood the foundations of storytelling. So now I'm gonna make 100 videos. Some of them are going to be terrible. Others, I'll be talking to top neuroscientists about multiple personality disorder, or I'll be talking about philosophy and Minecraft, or staring at plants for multiple hours straight. Pablo Picasso dedicated his entire life to his craft, to his paintings. Sculpting things that humans can barely imagine. And through all of this wisdom and delicate craftsmanship, he learned one very important thing. To paint like a child, you must have the skills of a master and the openness of a child. He had to reteach himself the basics of how to paint like a child. He would go to the canvas not expecting to create a masterpiece, but to let the inner workings of his mind shine. My inner critic, the voice inside my head, I become obsessed about art pieces, about videos. I want the utmost quality. In the last 10 months, I've spent around $8,000 on videos, and a lot of these aren't even finished because I am just so deeply obsessed. The inner perfectionist, this inner critic, the meanest person I've ever met is inside my own head. No one else is mean to me. Everyone is nice. If they are saying something poor, they are projecting something they feel. They're going through something they don't understand. And the meanest person I have ever met is in my own head. And we are going to conquer it with these 100 videos by letting go. I love you guys. Follow to see what I do.
