Artist Max Harding shows twelve new pieces, then explores a hypothetical: what if the president took LSD without knowing? He explains how the drug lets emotional and logical brain regions talk to each other, potentially creating empathy and insight. He weighs the upside against the serious risks of non-consensual exposure.

Millions of people have seen my artwork from around the world, and these are 12 pieces no one has ever seen and the stories behind them. The president will be laced with LSD. Do warn him. When people take LSD, it allows different brain regions that don't normally communicate with each other To communicate. Because of this, people on LSD are led to massive philosophical realizations because the emotional parts of their brain can speak to the logical parts, and all these different brain regions that get suppressed because of trauma now can finally communicate. So if the president was laced with LSD, would I tell him? I don't really know. Because on one case scenario, he may lead to these super deep realizations about life and get more empathy for all beings and become an overall better president. But on the other side, when you lace someone unknowingly, this can cause some very traumatic and severe effects. As much as this compound could help the president, it could also harm him just as much. It's like a weapon. A weapon can be used to save civilizations or take them down. But ultimately, I'd be kind of curious what was going to happen, and I wasn't the person that laced him, so I'd probably just see how things would play out.
