No Power, No Luggage, No Problem ( ii )

A group deals with a power outage and missing luggage while snowboarding in Teton Village. They navigate the chaos with humor, figure out workarounds, and keep the trip moving forward anyway.
All right, a little status update. The power went out last night. Apparently 10 power lines fell in the wind in Teton Village, where we're staying. And they're not expect. My luggage is not here. I'm wearing the same underwear that I had on two days ago. Professionals at work right here. Genus Steph Curry only has four toes. I didn't know that. On which four? I'm just joking. Come on. I'm making my argument for the warriors. All right, we've had some breakfast. Still no power. I think we've got a generator, and we're gonna try to make some coffee. So let's go check it out. Making some coffee from a van. Hygiene. Yep. That's Chris, number five, all right. Yeah, I think. I think just like the. That's really the addiction. Yeah, it's really the whole, like, just put a little squirt of water in there, and you're good. All right, there's a couple of us. We're gonna go hike the park and see if we can do some snowboarding then. So we've just made our way to another house where some other people are staying because the park is near here with the jumps. We're gonna try to hike up the mountain, hit a few runs if we can. It's turned into a beautiful day. We don't have power. Ski lifts aren't working. But we're gonna try to make the most of it. But first, coffee. We're gonna get a talking to. Yeah. There's just too much going on, you know, so. Thanks. Y. Sorry. We got shut down from the actual slope, but apparently there's a spot just up this way where we're going to build a little jump, try to hit that a few times. What else do we have to do it? All right, that's gonna wrap it up for this little mini session. I think I jammed my pinky, but after other than that, not too bad. Austin just flew his drone into a tree, and now we're gonna get some random dude off a yelp to come climb that tree 60ft up in the air and get it out. Off to the epic house. All you guys did that? Oh, yeah. Tree climber currently has my hero session on his head. Climbing 75ft up in there to retrieve the drone. Nice. And I have it. What'd you do today? Got some nuts. Got some nuts in town. Just nuts all day. Nothing at all. Just went nuts in town. Nothing at all. Right, John Hill, let's see what you got. I have no idea if I can even ride sa. Do A little bit of snowboarding under the bridge. Now we're going to gear up for some talks. We're all just chilling by the candlelight. Happy birthday, dear Albert. Happy birthday. I really appreciate that we have. Matt's going to be a moderator for this talk and I'm going to have John, Sarah and Timmy come up here and introduce themselves and we'll get going. Come on up, King. Hey, friend. Slap hands. I've had this very organic process of going from being an independent freelancer and working in this particular. All right, it's Thursday, technically the fourth day of epicurrents. It's currently raining outside. We still don't have power. I still don't have my luggage. My luggage is still not here. It's caught somewhere in the limbo of Delta. Even though it was a carry on bag, they made me check it at the door to getting onto the airplane, like right at the gate. And I specifically packed light enough to have a carry on bag so I wouldn't have to deal with this. But it happened anyway and my luggage got stuck in Salt Lake City. Still not here. It's okay. I've been borrowing things, been borrowing some socks. I bought a toothbrush. So I'm good on those two fronts. I've been borrowing Dan's jackets. Dan, thank you so much for your generosity. Timmy Ham has hooked me up with a couple pair of socks. Thank you, Timmy. So, yeah, this is our final full day at epicurrents. The Teton village that we're staying in is closed. The power outage is still in effect. The power line poles are snapped in half. So this whole resort is closed. So we're gonna make a trek down to Jackson property, try to go to Snow King. Gonna grab breakfast, then we're gonna hit the slopes. Then we're gonna come back and just have a good time. We're gonna make it epic regardless of the conditions. I went outside and walked a little bit, called my wife, I wish absorb the Internet connection that I can't get on my phone inside the house. Alright. We got a crew together. We got our stuff on. We're gonna get ready to head to Snow King and see what it's all about here with Marty up here hanging. What's up guys? Hidden Snow King because everything else is down. I'm getting my buddy Matt a large cup of slushy. Make my way back here. So this is where my bag has been hiding this whole time. Maybe not the whole time, but we're gonna go see if we can get it. All right, I got my precious suitcase back in Georgia for a blast. But now I'm ready to go home, say hello to my beautiful wife and my lovely children. Peace out. Underwear. So got that going for me. I could use a little touch up on deodorant as well. That has happened in snowboarding and skateboarding and things like that. And surfing. Yeah. So that's actually more scary than, like, the possible implications of a design decision or a career decision or things like that. All right, epicurrence number five is wrapped up. Taxi's outside waiting. Everybody's packing up, leaving. It was amazing. The power went off on Tuesday night, and it never came back on. I never got my luggage. They tried to deliver it last night to the wrong place. They had the wrong address, and then they took it back to the airport. So my plan now is to take my stuff to the airport, grab my luggage, check it back to Atlanta, and hopefully they can make it make it there on time this time. So all in all, great trip. Thank you, Dan. Thanks everybody else for making it. Awesome. Are you riding in this thing? Okay. Oh. Gotcha. Have fun, man. Good luck, guys. Hey, so good meeting, Dan. All right, buddy, man. Thanks. Awesome time. When's your wife do. Seven more months. Okay, so you got some time. No more epocurances between now and then, right? Probably.
