Hey guys, I'm Megan Killian, the chief consultant here at MKC Agency. I'm also a professional copywriter who is very short on time, and I like to use ChatGPT to help me build out content strategies so that I can help service my clients better and schedule out content months in advance that we're not down scraping to the last minute, but It also gives me flexibility to send copywriting to graphic design, give them time to design, get things back to me, tweak, look at our analytics, make some final changes, and make sure that we have time to do last-minute requests for our clients. So do you guys want to come with me to create a content strategy using ChatGPT? All right, so first of all, we're going to use ChatGPT-4, uh, because fudge me on using, um, ChatGPT-3. So first and foremost, we're gonna say, I'm building a content strategy for LinkedIn. For, for this example, we'll just use my agency. From Casey Agency.
First, we need to build a list of interests based on what we already know.
Okay, so I know I actually want to build a list of Teachable, relevant topic content pillars based on what we already know.
This is the list of interests from Kippy Agency.
So if you've never built out an ICP, I'm happy to record a separate video on how we build ICPs using ChatGPT. But for today, we're just going to focus on this content strategy where we already have the ICPs built. And the interests. So the list of interests around Casey Agency are leadership, culture, sales, and marketing.
Pretty simple.
And then our ICPs. First and foremost, we have this telecom ISP, Ian, Ian, Wipe Victor, that we've built. And then we've got our MSPs. And again, we've built all this out in advance. So if you want to learn how to do this, just let me know. There's MSPs. In addition to owners and CEOs, we also find sales and marketing leaders to be relevant. So hopefully ChatGPT is going to pick up what I'm putting down. Oh no, it was too long. Um, so we need to shorten this.
I'm gonna remove my cybersecurity MSP.
So we're just gonna focus on content for MSPs and telecom right now. So in another window, I'm building out a document that's gonna say MKC Agency LinkedIn Content Strategy. And for step 1, we're gonna have Who's my ideal audience?
And then for 2, we're gonna have content pillars.
All right, this is definitely gonna need to be clipped a lot to get rid of these like silent bits where I'm just doing stuff. I could make more small talk, but I'm actually really not good at that.
Autism.
So one of the main benefits of having a content strategy is that it doesn't leave you at the last minute kind of wondering like, what the heck you want to do with your time. All right, so let's look at what they built for us. Leadership, culture, sales, marketing, technology trends and innovation, regulation, cybersecurity, international expansion. So NIPS international expansion. So then we've built out our content pillars.
So what's next?
What we want to do is break down those content pillars into 3 to 4 Distinct strategies/types of content.
One should be teachable topics and tips.
So the other 2 to 3 be So I already have like our overarching social media strategy, which allows me to kind of go back and reference.
Our goals.
So I know that our— knowing our goal is to engage engagement by 10% each month.
Is there anything you'd change here?
Then additionally, we want to focus on these goals. So in that doc that I have in another place, we've got defining our goals.
And so then I'm just gonna say, can you define our goals, then define our content pillars, and then define the topics and types of content that will sit under each? Pillar.
So we just kind of want them to help us outline this into a document and, and make it easy to copy and paste so that we could possibly feed it back to ChatGPT later or use it as prompts for ourselves for copywriting.
Copy and paste in our defined goals, and then we're gonna look at our content pillars. And then we're gonna look at what are our content types. Let's define the NPC agency voice in a way that would be easy for you or a content creator. Writer to understand.
So we have our agency voice already worked on. That's gonna be in our brand kit. My brain always immediately stops working as soon as I'm recording, like What the heck?
It's not where I wanted it to be.
I know y'all are like, but Megan, this is taking you so long. But once you do it, then it really helps build out the content for the rest of your everything.
Brand voice.
Okay, so we are much more genuine than corporate, more expert.
Amateur, more witty, very detailed, very creative, very funky, more casual than formal, but still professional, more direct than friendly, but still engaging and authentic. Our vision is to prove that ethical marketing is as scalable and effective Of legacy marketing practices. Our mission is to scale B2B technology companies' marketing presence with ethical marketing practices. Our core values.
Mark.
Authenticity. Family first. Gratitude and positivity. And growth. And then to go deeper on these. So that should help with that part.
These are our content pillars. This is much more Exact than what we had before. But I do want to bring back in the customer success story. So we're gonna give some feedback on that. Then this is the types of content. Come on, ChatGPT. In the meantime, also gonna look at I'm gonna go look at my cloud campaign and look at our analytics and see what types of content has performed well for us in the past.
You can do it, Chachi. The Alex aren't super helpful. But Dark. So we're putting this in under what performs well on LinkedIn.
And again, we're looking for consistency from ChatGPT here, specifically because We're going to feed it back to them, and I'll show you how that works. Okay. ChatGPT again. You're getting ridiculous.
That's a little bit, a little bit too much, but it's okay.
Okay, so now we're gonna give some feedback here. Stop, you're going too far. So we're gonna go with— we're gonna add that just in here. Basic overall tips.
And then 8. So for 8, we want to post 3 to 4 times a week. Create a content schedule for June 2023. So here's what we're gonna do.
Oops, I'm at my limit. But just to give you guys an idea, let me show you what this looks like for my personal, so that you can kind of see where I'm going with this and what it does. So here you'll see list of interests, list of testable topics. What do you wish you'd known 1 to 2 years ago? Choose your 3 primary content bucket topics for each bucket. Analyze that past content, then plan and write your content. So this would be June and July content strategy for me. And then I can go into ChatGPT and you can see that I can like feed it just those things and it will draft content for me. And then I just tweak it based on what I want and add graphics. I hope this has been helpful. Let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
