Coming up right now, Dr. Alex Oyerbach, Toronto Raptors Performance Wellness. This guy has it now.
Let me tell you something.
He just doesn't have a doctorate. Is that a doctorate in clinical psychology? Yes. And he's got a master's and of course he's got an undergrad. He spent time with done time. He was fortunate to spend time with the University of Arizona in the Pac 12, Big 12 and other conferences. He, he is going to talk about peak performance psychology for sales leaders. And this is what's cool. This is perfect timing for him because right now we're kind of like, ah, going into lunch right after this. He is going to jack the stage right now. Come on up, Alex.
They really don't do introductions like this for psychologists at psychology conferences. So this is pretty cool. Excited to spend some time with you guys this morning and it's a pleasure to be here. I'm the sports psychologist for the Toronto Raptors and I'm going to spend the next 35 minutes talking to you about how to create a winning culture because ultimately that's what it's all about. So if I can find my fancy clicker here, we're going to move forward. I'm giving away free stuff because that was a suggestion from Gerhard. So if you raise your hand and answer a question, you might get some free Raptor stuff. What do these people have in common? Coaches. Good start. Our winners. Who said it first? Yeah. Okay, let's get a free shirt going back there. Sorry, Michael. I'm going to have you run around a little bit. And as a bonus, this guy in the top left is actually related to me, but he works for an enemy team or worked for an enemy team. So we're not allowed to own this. Yes. These are coaches who have been some of the most successful coaches in NBA history. Right. We've got nine championships. We've got college coaches up there. We've got two time coach of the year. We've got the winningest coach in NBA history over the first two seasons. And they've all built their programs really on the same core set of principles. And all of it is about this.
Have great coaches. Then after you have great coaches, you get great players, you have a great organization and you tell them one thing. Just win, baby.
So all of you want to win, I would think. I hope so. And this is where it starts. It starts with you as the leader and the. And the coach. Right. So there's a whole line of research that's come out primarily from European sport, but it's making its way into North American sport about what it takes for coaches, leaders in any field to win over and over and over again. And it boils down really first to you in the center as the leader. Right. What is your philosophy? What do you stand for? What do you believe in? What do you bring to work with you when you show up every day? What can people come to expect from you? And then built around that philosophy is the way that you construct your team and your organization. Right. So we've got incredible examples from the sports world. I'm going to spend most of the time talking about sports, sorry for the non sports fans that illustrate these three points. Right. So.
