Andrew Yang - Joe Biden's UBI?

Joe Biden borrowed Andrew Yang's UBI language on The Late Show, echoing the Fourth Industrial Revolution and retraining truck drivers, but the presenter questions whether it signals real policy or just an attempt to capture Yang voters. Democratic candidates from Williamson to Harris are now flirting with UBI to stay competitive, though few seem authentic about it.

Welcome back to the channel, and I hope you're having a great Friday evening as we go into the weekend. So, um, you know, I kind of predicted— I said that in videos long, long past now. I said things like, you know, Andrew Yang's campaign is going to do so well that politicians are going to do what politicians always do, try to latch on to the campaigns that's performing well, right? Is Joe Biden now going to follow the path of universal basic income? Well, in a recent television show on the Stephen Colbert Show, Joe Biden was on Many of us have discovered that not only has Joe Biden brought up the idea of automation and many of the challenges that go with that, he has specifically latched on to many strong terms and ideas expressed in the Andrew Yang campaign. Ideas like things you've never heard, come out of, um, the candidate's mouth as of yet. Things like Fourth Industrial Revolution, uh, things like retraining truck drivers. You know, nobody has done that yet, but Joe Biden is doing that. Now, why is Joe Biden doing that? And, uh, some of us believe it has something to do with after the Um, last debate, Joe Biden and Andrew Yang. Joe Biden seemed to be interested in, um, uh, the policies of Andrew Yang, uh, automation, his, his universal basic income policy, ways to deal with this. Now, uh, I'm in a bit of a bind here because I did say that any candidate who covered universal basic income I want to talk about their platform. So the bad news is that could be Joe Biden. The good news is hasn't happened as of yet. He hasn't come out and said that his proposal to deal with automation in the fourth industrial revolution is universal basic income. He never said that. However, Stephen Colbert did ask him specifically, and with all this being the case, what is the plan? What do you plan to do about it? Because Stephen Colbert has heard this before. He's heard Andrew Yang on the show. He's hearing it again, and people are seeing the success of Andrew Yang's campaign. He's still around, uh, the guy with the craziest policy in the world, giving every American $1,000 per month hasn't dropped out. He's still moving forward. He's still getting more attention and he is still, uh, a, um, a factor in this campaign, right? So they're taking notice of that and they're wondering why Andrew has the staying power that he has. Now the thing is with Joe Biden talking about this, He is leading himself down the path, or down the pathway rather, of now what is the solution for this? If you cannot train, or I'm sorry, retrain truck drivers, then what proceeds after that, right? You have to have some plan to deal with that, right? So if Joe Biden is interested in automation and, uh, using WORX specifically to Andrew Yang's campaign, there's a few concerns I'd have. One would be, um, you know, is Joe Biden just gonna play that game where he kind of makes us think he's latching on to the idea but never gives anything concrete and pivots once he can get Andrew Yang's votes and doesn't follow through with it. That could happen. And that's many of our concerns. And that's why a lot of us aren't trusting Joe Biden with this for all, uh, you know, is that going to happen? Is he going to try to actually use policies and ideas like the Freedom Dividend and kind of go up against Andrew Yang. The thing I found interesting in the segment with Stephen Colbert was that you can tell when Joe Biden was trying to talk about this, you could tell he was not very informed about it. He wasn't very sure about what he was saying. You could tell he didn't really quite understand it or grasp how to deliver it. But he did something that happens in business a lot, and that's when they'll brand a term that's popular and they'll just latch on to that term, um, to give their business push and momentum. Something similar happened with the, uh, with ideas in the cryptocurrency space like Bitcoin and blockchain. When Bitcoin started to go up in value, businesses and people start to realize that when they put blockchain in the title of their business, it made it more valuable. Made people want to buy the stock because everybody was on a Bitcoin train. So is Joe Biden trying that approach? What is clear is, and as I predicted, we're going to see a lot more people try to some kind of way adapt Andrew Yang's policy. Now here's the good thing about it. Here's the good thing about it. Once this is part of our culture in America, it's going to be very hard to put it to bed. Now, this is a, a new idea, a new concept for us that's starting to catch fire, and we're going to want to stick around. It doesn't really matter, uh, if it doesn't get implemented or not at this point. It is an idea now that is birthed into our society. So now somebody's gonna always be talking about some type of universal basic income to deal with automation as we go into the fourth industrial revolution. So it is here now. It wasn't here before, but it is here now. And so one thing is for sure, Joe Biden doesn't know what he's talking about. He doesn't quite understand. He doesn't have the delivery like Andrew Yang. And by adopting his policies, the only thing it's gonna do is just demonstrate to us just how the American people, just how important the policy is, just how problem solving it is. But then we're going to look at who delivers it better, who can implement it better. And of course we know who that's going to be. That's going to be Andrew Yang, right? So got the question mark there. Joe Biden's universal basic income. He hasn't said he'd do it. He had, he did, he hasn't said he implemented anything like universal basic income. But it is quite interesting that his phrases, his ideas sound almost exactly like Andrew Yang's. And these are very specific terms that could only come from Andrew Yang because we haven't heard words and ideas like this up until Andrew Yang spoke them first and birthed them into our heads. So Joe Biden's mimicking that now. I love Marianne Williamson. Marianne Williamson has already made it part of her campaign. Tulsi Gabbard seemed interested in it. I'll tell you who else looked pretty interested in that idea, like they were trying to figure out a way to make it work. People like Pete Buttigieg. But as people get— as these candidates get desperate and And as they see that they're losing ground anyway against people like Andrew Yang, you best believe they're going to adapt Andrew Yang's— adopt rather Andrew Yang's policy, right, of universal basic of the Freedom Dividend. They're going to try to, but it's not going to come off like Andrew Yang's because this has been Andrew Yang's platform and policy from the beginning. So it is not going to, uh, uh, resonate with the American people like it would coming from the original source of it. But it's But it's gonna be great because it's just, it's gonna turn everybody. In fact, it's gonna turn the entire DNC into, uh, uh, uh, the Freedom Dividend, the idea of the Freedom Dividend, because their, their strongest candidates are gonna be considering some form of it or moving in that direction, right? So it's going to make ideas like the Freedom Dividend universal. And remember what Andrew Yang said. Now, Andrew Yang is running for president because, much like a person who rises to the cause, who rises to the challenge, he understood that someone had to do it. And if not he, then who? But if Andrew found somebody who was really serious about fulfilling universal basic income in a way that it was going to really help the American people and they're going to really get it done, I'm sure he would support that candidate and so would I. But it would have to be an authentic person. It would have to be a person not just using it, uh, to get more points, uh, or to win a presidential election. Um, and unfortunately I don't see many authentic candidates, uh, out there. There's only one I've seen so far That's probably Marianne Williamson. If Tulsi Gabbard tried to do it, I probably believe her too. But people like Joe Biden and, um, the rest of these people, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, if they tried to, uh, just automatically all of a sudden now switch to universal basic income out the blue like this, the Freedom Dividend, and allow the Yang campaign, I certainly wouldn't think they were authentic. I certainly think they'd be doing it just to, uh, win. And that would concern me, uh, as far as how sincere they would be in pushing the policy. My thoughts would be they wouldn't be sincere at pushing it at all. Once they become the president, uh, they would easily just pivot off the topic. And that is my concern about all these candidates just picking up the, the idea. Now, uh, where I do like it is the American people will still be wanting to hold them to task on winning on that idea. And because of that, the American people will be— it will be totally in it now, in the spirit of the American people, to push that and make it happen. And that will be our next best chance of that. But an interesting turn of events. Can't say I'm surprised by them. I'd like to hear what you all think about this. Will we see a Joe Biden universal basic income now? Some version of it? Why is he so interested in this, um, in this, uh, policy idea, right? We'll have to find out and see. Uh, real quick, I want to tell y'all our project BitcoinMYK, uh, our own universal basic income project. Um, you can join it for free. It puts value, uh, money in your pocket, a cryptocurrency that can be converted to your local, uh, currency to help you to, um, meet your basic needs each month. We're pushing to get the value up, uh, and for it to be of use to you all. Um, it's free to sign up. You don't have to use your real name. You don't have to use any real emails. You can use dummy emails. You can use false names. It doesn't matter. We just need to identify a unique person using blockchain technology, uh, and, uh, where this project was created for you all to serve you all. But that's all I want to say in this video.
