Andrew Yang - Moving On Up!/ The View

Andrew Yang proposes a $1,000-per-month universal dividend for every American, citing Martin Luther King's idea. He argues it would reinforce identity as Americans while keeping reparations for slavery as a separate conversation.
Yes. Robert Mueller is set to testify July 17th. Should Congress start impeachment hearings?
We'd have to wait until his testimony, but I'm thrilled that he's going to be testifying for Congress.
What would he say that would change your mind to a definite yes?
You know, I'd have to see what the facts were. Also, I've been trying to put it on Congress to make that determination, really, because that's their job.
Okay.
Closing the wealth gap, especially when it comes to the African American community, reparations a part of that?
Well, Martin Luther King championed a dividend for all Americans. I think that's where we should start, $1,000 a month for every American. And then reparations is a whole separate issue because the $1,000 dividend doesn't address the historical legacy of slavery.
Why should rich white people get $1,000 a month?
Well, the great thing is that it'll remind them that they're still an American. But, but, but in Alaska—
Hey, you. Welcome back to the channel. And today we want to talk Andrew Yang. Andrew Yang's moving on up. Uh, so this is Andrew's first appearance, I guess, since the debates. Um, and, um, I believe this appearance is doing more for him than the debates could ever do. This is the best setting for Andrew Yang, uh, being on big nationally broadcast, uh, television shows like The View. Daytime television show reaches millions upon millions of people in the United States, and most politicians go there. I think a great deal of the Democratic candidates have already appeared on The View, and it's definitely good for people getting to know Andrew Yang. Now, what was so great about this particular show was that Andrew got a chance to to really get more deeper to explaining his policies to the people. And I think he did a pretty good job in this segment of The View. I think he did a good job, and I think it's affecting the polls in a very positive way. Again, something that didn't happen with the debates. And so it looks like Andrew's back on the move up again, and this is all a very, very good thing. So watching the episode, there was a few things happened I didn't like, you know, during the, during the show. But for the most part, I thought everything went fairly well. And I was going to kind of do this analysis of it, but then I sat back and thought about something. I watched, I watched Andrew Yang and it hit me. It just came to me. It said, you know what? Maybe there's nothing wrong with Andrew Yang and how he's going about this campaign. I said, maybe it's something wrong with us, the American people, right? You know, uh, excluding the Yang Gang, but also we have to give a chance for the American people to get to know him and know the policies and the debate then offer really good opportunity for that. But But now shows like this, and as he gets back moving on, moving on up, I think that people are going to really start to get on board with Andrew Yang. And I think that's happening now. But I, you know, the only thing I would suggest at this point is that whatever Andrew is doing, keep doing it. I don't think he really needs to change anything. Just keep being who he is and going forward with that. But I would like friends around him. I would like him to have friends around him that aren't afraid to give their opinions to him and let them know when they think something went a little bad or left. But I don't think Andrew really needs to change anything. I think it's pretty cut and dry with Andrew. Once you give him enough time to talk, once there's enough time given over for information to be relayed, and that's something I think time will solve. Uh, I think Andrew's gonna do just fine. Um, I think that what we're seeing now, uh, with a lot of candidates, a lot of them are in ties right now. Uh, Biden's still kind of out in the front, but I, I think his lead is going to start to diminish. And I, I think they're going to all end up— I think, uh, a lot of candidates are going to all end up, uh, neck and neck vying, uh, for that candidacy. I just got that feeling. But I think Andrew Yang, he keeps making appearances like this. This is the best thing he can do. Just keep making appearances, keep making appearances, and trying to get on as many shows as possible, doing things in the media to get noticed, and kind of creating his own format, right? I don't think he necessarily needs to just dominate debates, right? There's so much more to winning debates. But what I would like to see Andrew do is keep getting in the media some kind of way, keep getting a few more minutes to talk. And so for Americans to go, who's this? There's that Asian guy again, talk about that $1,000 per month. And he's still around and he's still in the debates and he hasn't dropped out yet because Andrew Yang's not going to drop out. He knows he's run a good campaign and he knows he has a great chance of winning this thing. But I really like the the, uh, the, the episode. And I, and I, um, I'm, I'm glad that, uh, um, for me this felt like a big turnaround for Andrew Yang because, you know, um, everybody was aware of the mic debacle. And Andrew Yang answers that, you know, in the, um, in the, in the interview. I'm glad he didn't make a big deal about it. I'm glad he let other people make a big deal about it because NBC denied it, uh, and, uh, you didn't want this back and forth thing keep going on where he's, you know, going, oh, well, you know, NBC, they are, uh, you know, that's not true, that did happen, and NBC going, no, that's not true. Just, just let it, just let it die like that and we go forward. And what happens now is everybody's aware of it and they're going to be paying attention to it. And I think in the next debates, I think that's gonna be, uh, uh, I think that's going to be a thing that's noticed. And I wouldn't be surprised to hear a joke from the debate that's coming up where they go, well, you know, we know you didn't get enough questions or we understand the situation of you not getting enough time. So this time we're going to make sure that doesn't happen. And I think they might maybe on purpose this time will give Andrew Yang a chance to, uh, to, uh, participate and speak more just to try to you know, uh, not be in that situation. And in doing that, that's what's going to make Andrew Yang get bumped up his biggest lead ever. I'm telling you guys, I got this belief. I think Andrew Yang is going to dominate the next debate because it doesn't take much. Just remember this, it doesn't take much for Andrew Yang to sell this idea. Uh, NBC was just clever enough not to give him the opportunity because they knew if he had that chance, they knew that that would be it for everybody. Andrew would shoot up in the lead. That's what would happen. And they didn't want that to happen. So CNN's not going to have that issue. The next debate is not— that's not going to happen. They're going to try to make it look good. He's going to get a little bit more time. He's going to get more fair questions. And Andrew Yang is going to be ready. They're going to pitch that ball and he's going to hit a strike this time. That's my prediction. And I believe that's going to happen. And that's when he's going to shoot up. And we're going to probably see this neck and neck thing with him, Warren, Sanders, and Biden and Harris. And I believe a few of them are going to get dropped out of it. Probably Buttigieg is going to drop more. I believe either Sanders or Warren is going to start to drop more. Biden is going to drop more. And something tells me Harris is going to drop a significant amount too. I don't think Harris is going to do as well as she's doing right now. I think she did get a real good bump and people are looking at it as they want somebody who can go on an attack against Trump in the debates. But I think things are going to work out a little bit different. I think we're going to be surprised this time around. I think Andrew Yang is going to emerge amongst these candidates and it's going to be a much, much closer battle. But, uh, I think, I think where they're going to make the mistake with Andrew Yang for these platforms who may or may not want to see him succeed, uh, is they're going to give him enough time to get out that $1,000 dividend message in an effective manner that Andrew Yang can do it if given enough time. And when that happens, that's going to turn things around. So, uh, I'm pretty, I'm optimistic about what we're going to see happening next. This type of format is Andrew Yang's best format, but now that we're making the case that he needs more time, I believe he's going to get more time. And I think we're going to, we're going to end up in a much better situation. But, um, but, uh, I think everything's looking great.
