Andrew Yang - Pope Endorses Ubi/Virus/Vice President

In this commentary video, the host discusses the growing momentum for universal basic income (UBI) amid the COVID‑19 pandemic, highlighting recent endorsements from influential figures such as Pope Francis and noting Spain’s adoption of a permanent UBI scheme. The speaker connects these developments to Andrew Yang’s long‑standing advocacy for a "Freedom Dividend" and argues that the pandemic has accelerated the need for direct cash transfers as a stimulus and safety net. The host speculates that, should Joe Biden win the 2020 election, Yang could be positioned as a vice‑presidential candidate, emphasizing the political advantage of having a recognized UBI champion in the administration. The video also frames the pandemic as a preview of future disruptions from automation and robotics, suggesting that UBI is a pre‑emptive solution. Finally, the presenter promotes a personal project—BitcoinMYK Universal Basic Income—a cryptocurrency‑based, free‑to‑join social network that distributes digital tokens as a form of UBI, inviting viewers to participate.

Welcome back to the channel. I hope you all are staying safe amidst this global pandemic, taking care of yourselves, being extra careful. So I want to talk a little bit about Andrew Yang today, uh, the man who had the vision to see that we needed universal basic income as part of our economy. Pope Francis, the papal state, now coming out saying this may be the time to consider a universal basic wage income. He's been sending out letters to many statehoods, many nation states, the Catholic Church being one of the largest representation in many countries in Europe, such as Spain, which has now basically adopted a permanent universal basic income. Maybe some of us should be going to Spain, huh? And a much-needed one under this crisis at the right time, obviously, but they're going to be keeping it, it seems. What's going on here? So Is there a pattern here with who's adopting and who's voicing universal basic income? You look at people like Pope Francis, you go back to people like Dr. Martin Luther King, um, the Dalai Lama. I don't think came out per se and endorsed universal basic income, but he's been quite vocal when it comes to equality and economics, and I think he may have admitted to being a Marxist of some sort, but I'm assuming that in the best possible way of that idea, but there seems to be a lot of human elements in relation to universal basic income. And I'm by no means challenging those in humanity who don't support the idea or trying to take a higher righteous or moral authority or position. Because if I'm honest about it, a lot of my career dealt with money and finance, and I looked at universal basic income as a stimulus to the economy. I looked at it as a, as a means to create better distribution. If we look through history, the worst economies in the world were based on imbalanced economies where you had a very minor group, minority group of people controlling most of the wealth. You had a lot of poor people, you had no middle class, right? And whereas in the United States specifically, we've been one of those countries who's held our middle class even though we went through shrinking middle classes and we continue to do so. So far we've been able to hold on to that, but It is clear that we're losing that. And if you look at ideas like 60% of Americans cannot afford a $400 emergency, then this is quite obvious that this isn't the best economy that can work for us or provide the best means of distribution to avoid a situation like what happens in the worst economies in the world. Um, people first, humanity first in these systems, in the, in economies, right? Uh, I think that is the driving element in universal basic income as well. Not just that it's, does this economy work best and should we do this, that, or the other, but in the creation of our structures and systems, that people come first. People come first over profit, right? People come first over items or resources. And, um, some of us are on a level in our walk in humanity where we understand that and we see it that way, and some of us have maybe yet to get there. Um, but, uh, um, you know, however we look at this thing, this is kind of what universal basic income in our world today is shaping up to be. Looking at the virus itself as being the catalyst to create this in its devastation, um, it's pushed many of us to go, wow, if Andrew had held on just a little bit longer, his candidacy would look so great because what you'd have now is you'd have this kind of expert on universal basic income in a time where many of our systems around the world, here in America, are looking for answers like that. And Andrew being the great person he is, wasn't going to waste resources fighting under the circumstances of how he could see himself on the field at that particular time. Which kind of moves me to another thought. Whereas I had said before that I thought Andrew should leave politics altogether, just focus on nonprofits because in my core I feel like ultimately Universal basic income will work better from people in society, us coming together and creating our own universal basic income, and so that governments cannot interfere with it. They can't pull certain rules and regulations to it, and that we would be able through some technology, through some system, to do it ourselves without having to worry about that. But looking at the situation with a possible president like Joe Biden, should he defeat Donald Trump, uh, many of us have been quite concerned about the health of, of, um, Joe Biden, right? And, uh, you know, in looking at some interviews with Andrew Yang, has come up that, uh, Andrew Yang does have a role in Joe Biden's candidacy, right? When he came out and endorsed Joe Biden because On paper, Joe Biden was shown to be the more possibly likely candidate, and, you know, wasting a lot of time and money and resources wasn't going to be quite helpful. Um, it would seem that Andrew would have a place in that cabinet should he choose to have one. But if it's gonna go that route, uh, Andrew's replying obviously to that, talking about This is game-changing, right? The Parnas of the world has, uh, um, endorsed universal basic income. But if Andrew was to stay in government, I would like to see Joe Biden make Andrew Yang his vice president, right? If the health concerns about Joe Biden is correct, if it's true, and if this could be a problem or even if Joe Biden can't run a second term, if Andrew is in there as the vice president— and I think we should start pushing that, right? A lot of the Yang Gang, uh, we should support that Joe Biden name Andrew Yang, the vice president, his running mate, right? Uh, because that could be a situation where it makes, it makes it easier for Andrew to go through that door should he decide to carry on with his, uh, political, uh, career. Um, looking at the virus and going back to Andrew, um, you know, the virus has basically done a great part of the fear of what we believe would happen in automation and robotics. And whereas some of us could foresee this catastrophe 5 years, 10 years down the road. And in the very human-like nature of people, uh, with a very narrow short-sightedness going, well, this isn't something we have to worry about today, so we're not going to worry about it. Let's do something else. We'll cross that bridge when we get there. We're caught off guard, right? We're hit instead now by this virus pandemic And in this, uh, virus pandemic, we're still unpreparedly forced into a universal basic income situation, um, and we weren't ready for it. Andrew Yang's trying to get us ready for it. The good that could come out of this is several goods and such a devastation that could come out of this and Some of it is related to— we now know that this is a way to deal with things that interfere with our livelihoods in our job markets, right? We know this to be a solution, just putting money directly in people's hands. Um, and that is basically the same thing Andrew Yang was saying would need to happen with automation, robotics, intelligence so advanced that it would just simply replace you. Maybe it would happen over time, but it would happen, and you wouldn't want to wait to the nuclear blast. The coronavirus is the nuclear blast. It is similar in the concept of What happens when something severe hits you and you're not prepared for it? You're either not prepared because you didn't take it serious, take the necessary steps, like some are trying to blame President Donald Trump for now, right? So you— it's either that, or it's either you see it looming and coming and you still aren't going to do anything about it until it happens. We're experiencing what would be both of those scenarios right now. As you look at people struggle to wait on their stimulus payments, struggle to get their bills paid, in need of aid and so on and so forth, right? Right, so this has speeded up the process. Um, the other part is people receiving universal basic income in our society and going, hey, you know, as Andrew Yang said, why don't we just do this all the time, right? Like Spain's doing. Why can't this be interwoven into our society so that if this happens again, we're already acclimated to a state of being that is ready for it, right? The thing is, it's more likely that the flu virus is going to keep mutating, right? And that we're going to continue to be hit with these severe virus pandemics. I don't think they're going away. You know, of course we already dealt with H1N1. We dealt with SARS. The probability is that they will get worse and worse and worse, right? That's what viruses do. They mutate. Uh, and we're going to probably repeat this pattern time and time again. Why not deal with it in one stroke, right? You've already set the wheels in motion, um, to maybe even carry this out further as UBI, then you solve several problems in the future. That could be something, that could be a place we go for, for now in this situation. And, um, looking at how we deal with this, how money gets pushed back into the economy to help these struggling businesses, as it This is, I think, going to stick in many of our minds that these things have to happen when we have crisis. You know, whatever your economic theories and beliefs, whatever you had, it doesn't matter now. These things and these approaches have to take place, right, in, in order to keep us going. Um, but I'm wondering, guys, Yang Gang out there, should we push for the Biden administration naming Andrew as the vice president. You know, you imagine if we gather forces and we push that, that would be a good thing. That would be putting Andrew Yang in a very good position, very good position, right? We know Biden is the nominee now. He has to start looking for his, uh, running mate. It might very well be that he goes back to Andrew looking at how big this thing is with the coronavirus. Getting a glimpse into the future of what it looks like when people have to stay home and can't work. You know, we still don't exactly know how long this is gonna last or the aftereffects of it afterwards, but wouldn't that be interesting? Comment below, let me know, let me know what you all think about that. And real quick, before I get out of here, want to talk about our project, our own Universal Basic Income project that we would love you all to join totally free, 100% free, real money that we're moving right now that you can get. All right, we're here on the BitcoinMYK site. BitcoinMYK Universal Basic Income. You heard that right. This is our social network. We're gonna use our social media as the oil of the future to to reward universal basic income payments in cryptocurrency, in tokens. This is digital money that can be used to spend, like digital money that you use on internet today. And a passion project of mine, something I'm excited to participate in, something I had been thinking about before I learned about Andrew Yang, right? So I was putting this together before Andrew Yang, and consequently, that's how I found Andrew Yang, by the way. I found him because I was already working on this, and then, uh, he popped up on the radar and I said, wow, this is great, right? We got a guy running for president on something that we're, we're trying to accomplish here, right? So, uh, we'd love for you all to join today. If you have any questions or comments about how you receive universal basic income from us, where does the money come from, how much is it, how does it work, and just get involved and help us make this a big thing, we'd love to have you on board. Um, so we'll leave a link in the description for that. That's all I want to say in this video. If you like content like this, don't forget to like and subscribe. And until next time, take care.
