We are experiencing the greatest technological and economic shift in human history. We need a way to help millions of Americans transition through this period, and a universal basic income is the best and most efficient way to do that. Hello, I'm Andrew Yang, and I'm running for president as a Democrat in 2020. I believe I have the right vision, priorities, and values to improve the lives of millions of Americans. 7 years ago, I started Venture for America to train hundreds of young entrepreneurs.
Welcome back to the channel. I hope you all are having a great day. So excited to talk about Andrew Yang has started releasing his universal basic income ads, television ads. So in my last video, A little bit controversial. Uh, we talked about, uh, how I wasn't very— I wasn't much moved by the, by the ads. There were these introductory ads as we got to see, and it talked about a lot of the other policies, uh, healthcare, um, and many of the other policies that, um, Andrew, uh, has as part of his, uh, over 100 policies. And these things are very important, no doubt about it. But, uh, we were kind of, uh, well, I was kind of torn with the ads because I wanted, um, Andrew to focus on those very— that very compelling message of universal basic income, because it is the— it is the message that resonates, uh, so well with me, um, and I think it will resonate well with a lot of other potential voters, right? Um, and I think I fall in the camp of it needs to be pushed and it needs to become normalized in American lives, because the more Americans hear that message, I think the more it will become something they think more about. The more we kind of shy away from it, I think what happens is I think people will just start to kind of always kind of look at it like as something that they feel the government won't let happen because they don't realize that they are the government, right? People don't recognize and realize that the government is supposed to represent us and not the only other way around. It's not supposed to be a government with their own interests and, uh, not representing us. So basically the bottom line is supposed to be, if we want universal basic income enacted and it's the will of the American people, it should go forward like that. So of course I'm happy because I just like everything about these— this ad. Now, you know, um, it was a few ads that I got to see that Andrew introduced. Uh, one was this dealing with the UBI and automation, and then another one kind of shows him and his lovely wife Evelyn, our First Lady, uh, and they're taking care of their, um, their children at home, their autistic son. And I really like that ad as well. These are home run ads. right? Um, because what happened was not, not only did we get this very human element of Andrew Yang that families, moms at home, people, uh, dealing with special needs children, which is a lot of Americans, not only did that— is that something that could resonate well with them, uh, they also see that Andrew's in the same situation as they are, right? And they're like, okay, now this is a candidate who lives this. He understands this. He understands the importance of what we need to do, right? And that was great. Now, and I love at the end of that how he went, oh, and Amazon's going to pay for all of this, right? Because that— those are the messages that stick with people, you know? You know, now this guy's talking about he's got me— Amazon pay for all this. This is how we're going to get it done. Uh, he recognizes the problem of automation. The other candidates aren't talking about that. Why aren't they talking about it? Now, in our last video, um, the last video I did, uh, about, about the ad, the Humanity First ad, which I thought was visually stunning, uh, you know, I think me and a lot of community disagree with the effectiveness of the ad. Uh, it wasn't compelling to me. It didn't jump out to me. What it, what it appeared to me was like It was Andrew Yang trying to run up against Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden. And I don't want him to run that kind of race, right? I might be wrong. Maybe that's why I'm not a campaign manager or a political ad creator, but I feel like Andrew Yang is best in his own lane, right? Uh, sticking to the things that is going to resonate with American people. You know, and the reality of the situation is when candidates talk about healthcare and when they talk about climate change and the many different areas of the economy that they plan to deal with, or getting rid of Donald Trump, any of that stuff, right? The American public has already identified certain political candidates with those issues and topics. And I don't think it's a good idea for Andrew Yang to try to do a head-to-head with them on those particular issues that they seemingly dominate, right? You gotta remember, many of these political candidates are still going to be a safer bet for some voters than Andrew Yang because Andrew Yang is an unknown. He still seems like he's come out of nowhere. So what Andrew Yang needs to do is have that compelling message nobody else has or nobody else is doing, but is just as important, that is just as dire as those other messages, and stand apart from them and have the solution that puts the value back in the American people's hands. And I think that's going to resonate quite well with a lot of American people. Uh, this is why Andrew has been able to pull Trumpers and conservatives and Republicans so well, because they resonate with that message of putting value and money back in the American people's hands so that they can put the money and they can control their money in the areas of their lives they see fit, giving them autonomy over their money, right? And, uh, when we don't talk about the Freedom Dividend, when we don't talk about UBI, and we try to be the normal politician, uh, we're now in a camp where it's going to be a lot more difficult to compete, uh, with these other candidates. And we're not really standing out or doing anything different than them. And that, I think that's how come I was a little bit concerned about that being the first impression of Andrew Yang because I could have, if that was my first time watching an Andrew Yang message or ad, I would have just looked at him like, okay, well this is some guy. I don't know. I've never heard of him before. He's talking about the same issues as Pete Buttigieg, as Elizabeth Warren, as Joe Biden, as Bernie Sanders. And they have been tested in the political arena, um, over, over the years. And they have a polit— a long political record in history. Why on earth would this guy think he could compete with that record, right? He needs to introduce something they're not introducing and be a specialist in that. And that's what I think he does great with the Freedom Dividend, Universal Basic Income. And the Freedom Dividend, it covers so many aspects of the issues, right? It is going to deal with homelessness, it's going to deal with healthcare, because if you're healthier, if you have money in your pocket, you're going to be healthier. That's going to be part of preventative care of a lot of health issues, a lot of mental issues, right? Um, so it is just so vast. It's just about how it's displayed and how it opens up. And what Andrew does in his ads is he goes in very strong. He's very strong in these ads now, in these latter ads, right? But it does make sense. I do like the fact that he does the Humanity First ad. That is a very, uh, kind of entry-level introductory ad, right? But, you know, first impressions are a big deal too. So I kind of would have preferred he go in strong like this with these ads and then mellow out toward the end and just be like, oh, and by the way, I'm also a candidate who champions all these other issues, right, that, uh, Biden and Sanders, Warren, Buttigieg are kind of leading the charge and are leading in the polls. Now, I champion them as well, But here's what they're missing, right? They're missing the cataclysm on the horizon, right? Uh, they're not aware of this, right? And, and their judgment is not aware of this. They don't see this, and that makes them not as best for this role as I am. So that's kind of where I was at with it. Tell me all what you think, but I'm very excited with this, this next round of ads. This is what I was waiting on. I wanted to see how they were going to approach this, and I really like what I saw in this. Um, also just want to move on to, uh, uh, if you don't know, uh, Andrew Yang has broken over 1 million Twitter followers. So the American people are speaking. It's quite interesting. I still speak to people who don't think that American people want universal basic income. A lot of people who don't think this thing is going to happen. But every time we see a support system like over a million Twitter followers, that is the American people speaking to, yes, this is what we want, that this is what we want to deliver. And remember, this is a government that represents the will of the people, right? This is not the Republican Party and Democratic Party, and these are just people doing what they want. Now maybe that's how they've run the country, but that's not how it's supposed to work. And so our wills are supposed to be their will, and they're supposed to represent our will. So we gotta keep that in mind. Uh, and, uh, I guess that's all I want to say in this video. Very excited with what I saw. Uh, don't forget to join our Universal Basic Income project. This is a global blockchain universal basic income project. Would love for you all to join. This is for everybody, global, just not in the United States. So make sure you join. On if you're a person who are not in the United States as well, you cross the pond, uh, we'd love to have you over. If you're an American, hey, there's no such thing as too much Freedom Dividend, too much UBI. So, uh, so come on over, give that a try. Let's make this world a better place. That's all I want to say in this video. If you like content like this, don't forget to like and subscribe. And until next time, take care.
