Bakkt - Launches December 12th

Bakkt launches December 12th with Bitcoin futures that settle in actual bitcoins, not cash. Owned by the NYSE's parent company, it lets institutions and 401(k) plans hold crypto in a regulated custodial setup. The host thinks pulling bitcoins off the market could spark a price surge.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we're going to talk a little bit about Bakkt. Bakkt is an exchange. We had spoken a little bit about it earlier. Um, it's part of the Intercontinental Exchange, which is the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange. Yes, the New York Stock Exchange. So getting into highly regulated territory here. And one of the features that's going to be part of the Bakkt exchange is Bitcoin futures. Now, many of us, you know, have had a problem with when Bitcoin futures were originally released on the CBOT. And many, many thought that it did more damage than good. Where Bakkt is going to handle this differently is they're actually gonna take delivery. You're actually gonna take delivery of a Bitcoin with these futures contracts. So that means that the actual Bitcoins are going to have to be bought and purchased off the market. And we know that this will obviously, taking these Bitcoins off the market, cause the price of Bitcoin to increase. And so some of the large predictions that had been made at earlier parts of the year. Some may possibly be, be possible, uh, as a result of Bakkt. We do not know at this point in time, but, uh, the good news is by those actual Bitcoins being purchased up and taken off the market, uh, that's going to allow, uh, for possibly an incline in the price of Bitcoin, right? And so very interesting, very exciting. Also is gonna make it possible for 401(k)s and many institutional investors to be able to hold these, hold Bitcoins. Now the date scheduled for release is December 12th. And so this is when Bakkt, in the Intercontinental Exchange warehouse will act as a clearinghouse for the delivery of the Bitcoins held in the Bakkt digital asset warehouse. So this is very interesting, guys, and I think it's great news coming at the end of the year. I think we're already due for a bull run, and I think this is going to be part of, maybe part of the catalyst that starts and sets it off because we are due for one. And I, you know, I think it's about time we got one. So something just keeps, uh, pulling me towards this may be that event, uh, that gets us there. Uh, so not everybody are happy, uh, about Bakkt with all these institutional investors coming in, um, which are going to be able to now handle Bitcoins in a more custodial way, um, and various things like that. Some people are using terms like Wall Street 2.0 coming our way for the cryptocurrency market. You know, of course, many in cryptocurrency space are anti-Wall Street, have come into this space to avoid that very thing, only to maybe have some of those, you know, those elements enter into the cryptocurrency space, which seemingly is happening. So guys, we're going to have to wait and see. But thinking this may very well be the catalyst we need, uh, December 12th, guys. Guys, if you like content like this, don't forget to like and subscribe. Until next time, take care.
