Dr. Martin Luther King Day - MLK Died Fighting For UBI

The video opens with a historic excerpt from Martin Luther King Jr., in which he calls for a guaranteed annual income to address economic inequality. The host then frames the video as a Martin Luther King Jr. birthday reflection, linking King’s late‑life support for a guaranteed income to today’s resurgence of universal basic income (UBI) discussions. The host argues that automation, robotics, and AI threaten jobs, making UBI increasingly urgent, and cites thinkers like Ray Kurzweil and Elon Musk to illustrate the scale of technological displacement. The narrative challenges common misconceptions that UBI is a welfare handout, emphasizing that it would be a universal dividend paid to all citizens, citing Alaska’s permanent fund as an example. The host promotes a proprietary social‑network/cryptocurrency project, BitcoinMYK, claiming it can build a citizen’s dividend by aggregating social‑media activity into a decentralized fund. Throughout, the speaker urges viewers to research King’s UBI advocacy, join UBI groups, and take concrete actions—subscribing, sharing, and joining BitcoinMYK—to help fund a guaranteed income system. The tone mixes historical reverence, alarm about automation, and persuasive marketing for the platform.

All people and for all families. One of the answers, it seems to me, is a guaranteed annual income, a guaranteed minimum income for all people and for all families of our country. It seems to me that the civil rights movement must now begin to organize For the guaranteed annual income, begin to organize people all over our country and mobilize forces so that we can bring to the attention of our nation this need and this something which I believe will go a long, long way toward dealing with the Negro's economic problem and the economic problem with many other poor people confronting our nation. Now, one of the answers, it seems to me, is a guarantee.
Welcome back to the channel, guys. I hope you're having a great Martin Luther King Jr. birthday, national holiday. In addition to that, we had the presidential inauguration which occurred on the same day. As Martin Luther King's birthday. This has happened, I think, 2 or 3 times before. I believe it happened on Barack Obama's inauguration, uh, and some other president. Um, and so today, um, I thought it was very important, especially if you watch the channel, you probably are aware I created a social network based around human economic energy that creates money, basically a cryptocurrency, out of social media activity, out of your participation in the social media site. And it creates the citizen's dividend, which goes by many names. It's known as— could be known as guaranteed annual income, it could be known as basic income, it could be known as Citizen's Dividend. It could be known as Universal Basic Income. Uh, many retrospects, they're all synonymous in meaning to a great degree. Now what's very interesting, um, about, uh, all the great work that Dr. Martin Luther King did is a lot of people are unfamiliar with— he died trying to fight for this guaranteed annual income, universal basic income. There are conspiracy theories out that had a lot to do with why he died, right? This push, this mobilization of people, you know, getting, you know, not just Black people, not just African Americans, but just getting a lot of other people throughout the country who, were experiencing economic hardships at the time to unite around him. And this would've made Martin Luther King a very powerful force in the United States of America. He probably would've got a lot of support, and this could have been dangerous to the system as it exists today, especially now that many believe we live in an oligarchy, right? right? I'm sure many of you all are hearing that. And so, you know, guys, this channel doesn't get a lot of views. It doesn't get a lot of views based around Universal Basic Income, but I do the channel and the topics anyway because I feel, much like Martin Luther King who died fighting for this, that it is that important, right? Now, the revival of guaranteed annual income, basic income, universal basic income, uh, has come back a lot to do with automation, right? So now it's the added pressure of automation and robots being able to displace workers. Now some people believe that there will be more jobs created, and that is true, right? There will be more jobs created. But the research also shows that it's very difficult to retrain a workforce, right? It is very difficult to use the quote, learn the code or learn the program. What was the famous quote they had going before that? I can't recall it now, but it was kind of a meme, right? Where everyone would raise to the level to be retrained to do highly technical jobs, right? If you listen to people like Ray Kurzweil, you know, people who've been very good at predicting the economic curve and development of human beings in relation to artificial intelligence and robots, Ray Kurzweil speaks a lot about the human cranium, right, not being able to outgrow— I'm sorry, the human brain not being able to outgrow the, uh, our cranium, right? Meaning we have a limited capacity on our development and competition with robotics and automation, right? So basically that's saying that there's only so far we can go in this before we get displaced by these machines before the machines can do every job a human can do better, right? And we're seeing so many elements of that. To deny that, you just would be incredible. Also, when we're speaking about robots and automation, it's important to note that a lot of people tend to think of humanoids, right? A robot that looks like a human, right? right? But robots are also cars, right? As Elon Musk says, right, that Tesla is mistaken for a car company when it's a robotics company, right? With the driverless cars and technology as such, right? So these robot cars, right, will be autonomous soon. Um, and so they won't need human drivers, right? We won't need drivers at all. And more likely insurance companies will prefer robotics drivers, right? So yes, there is a chance that many new jobs can come to fruition, but there's also still this reality of people gotta learn to do those jobs. And does everyone want to work in tech, right? Because the other jobs are gonna be automated away, right? They're going to be, philosophied away by machine, by reasoning machines that can reason at levels greater than humans. As I said earlier, right, when great figures like Martin Luther King are willing to die for ideas like universal basic income, I have proposed that this idea should be the top 10 in your order of most important things. I think it should be up there with nuclear proliferation, I think it should be up there with the job economy, climate change, you name it, right? Unfortunately, I think in a world where there are so many distractions, there are so many frivolous things online, streaming movies, you know, shows of entertainment and things like that. I think the distraction could become so great, uh, or, or even just, uh, the jobs we presently have, uh, in the present that just keep us so busy, like drones working. It's hard to fathom and think about things like this, right? And so whereas we're dealing with a serious topic here, a very important issue that is more serious than than pretty much any topic you're gonna encounter today, it's very easy to get distracted away from that, to not consider that, or just to not wanna be bothered by that, hoping somebody else will fix or deal with the problem. But unfortunately, when we deal in a society, in a government, in our communities in a way where we're hoping somebody else will fix the problem, that never works well for us because at the end of the day, the people fixing the problem are people like you, right? And so if you don't do anything about it, you will have to be a victim of the consequences of that, right? So very important issue, guys. For Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday, take a moment and do some research about his involvement in, Universal Basic Income, the basic income, you know, why he died fighting for ideas like this, right? He could have been doing anything, right? He had already did such great work in the civil rights movement, and you can see here he wasn't done. It was time to move on to something else. Um, you know, there's also, I think, a great misunderstanding with Martin Luther King that His temperament and movement was just all about the civil rights movement. Martin Luther King became quite radical after the "I Had a Dream" speech, and he also spoke a great deal about the ineffectiveness of the "I Had a Dream." He admitted to being wrapped up in a fantasy himself. And, you know, basically moving to this point of actually doing something physically that was going to really change people's lives, like the basic income, guaranteed income, right? Because when you're giving, you know, speeches about dreams, about how things could be, those are great. These are great dreams. These are great ideas. But they're only as good as the implementation. You know, of them. They're only as good as an actual blueprint and plan on how to achieve them, right? And so when you look at ideas like universal basic income and Dr. Martin Luther King, and you wonder what you can do about it, right? Even if you wanted to do something about it, what could you do about it? Well, I would say join universal basic income groups, join basic income groups, join our social network, right? That just by you joining, we can build a social network the size of your Metas, your Twitters, your Instagrams, right? Your TikToks worth billions, trillions of dollars owned by the people, run by the people where everyone shares in the dividend. And for a move so simple as that, that takes you 30 seconds to do, you'll be amazed how much you could accomplish, right? But it just takes that 30-second action, right? And it's a very easy action, but you have to first be educated about universal basic income. The reality of the situation, a lot of people still don't know or quite understand universal basic income. They mistake it for a welfare program, for a handout program, right? Um, universal basic income is not welfare or a handout. It is given to the rich and poor alike. Um, it is practiced in the state of Alaska successfully. Uh, it is practiced in areas around the world successfully. And so it is not a government handout. It is a cividan for citizens who contribute to society, and we all do in some way or another. Right? So all very important stuff, guys. Very probably some of the most important things you're going to consider, you're going to do, you're going to watch, because the future is now. And these robots and this automation is only going to get more complex. And, um, you know, we're going to see wondrous things we've never seen before. And unfortunately, it's going to leave some of us out in the cold. Right? And it's not to scare anybody. This is all about responsibility, right? This is all about reality and that we have to take this serious, right? So I hope you've had a great Martin Luther King birthday and I hope you take me up on researching the end of Martin Luther King's life, him dying for things like this, right? And I hope— we hope to see you over on BitcoinMYK where you can take action. You can do something about this. It may not affect you right now. It might affect your friends or families, as I'm sure it is already. You have friends and families that are struggling to get jobs. They're struggling to make ends meet. This could help them. You have people people who've been replaced by machines, even computer programmers, right? People in workshops and factories, right? Who over 4 million jobs have been automated, automated away in the last several years, right? So this may not affect you personally yet, but it may be coming for you, right? So it is definitely something if you can, you wanna do something about, you wanna be aware about it. Another way you could do it is subscribing to the channel, making sure you hit the like button, sharing the video so people get it. But that's all I think I want to say in this particular video, guys. Again, I hope you had a great holiday today, and, um, as always, take care of yourselves and each other.
