Eos: Mainnet Launches Dapps Are Coming

EOS mainnet just launched with 140 dApps already built on it, from social networks like Ono to Everpedia. The blockchain raised over $1 billion and ranks in the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market cap, positioning it to succeed where Dan Larimer's earlier project Steemit faced challenges.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today I want to talk about the EOS mainnet now being officially launched and what that means, what that means as far as EOS is concerned and what it means for decentralized applications that are gonna run on the EOS system. So as of right now, what it means is that these applications, these decentralized applications, can now be run, that this is an active— they have the active node running and, you know, it's ready to go. Now, what we know about EOS is it's raised over a billion dollars. Right now it has a market capitalization of about $10 billion. It's in the top 10, one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies. And so you're talking about, at this time, a force to be reckoned with. And EOS has, I believe, listed right now about 140 applications, decentralized applications, right? And they range from just about everything. They're gonna— they do just about everything you could think of. Now, some will be awesome, some will work excellent, and of course, like with everything, some probably won't and some will fail. But EOS has all all of the components in their war chest, you know, to make everything work for them. They have the good technical know-how, they have the money, they have everything. And Dan Larimer, who's responsible for creating this, you know, was involved with Steemit. Now we know Steemit to be one of the most successful decentralized social media sites, you know, known to man right now, and it's performed quite well. But its market capitalization is far below that of what EOS is. And EOS has had the advantage of watching Steemit, and now we can kind of look back and go, well, we've seen all the mistakes, we know what we need to correct, we got the money and the technology to do it. You know, and so, you know, not just Steemit, but every other decentralized application that they're creating across the blockchain that's gonna do all these awesome things. You know, you could— they got their own version of a social media site known as Ono, which is gonna run on a social media type platform. With a much more what people believe to be fairer system in social media. And one thing you got to be careful with when you're dealing with human psychology, and that is the idea of one, them having a sense of fairness, and two, when you're dealing with business, especially when you're dealing with a situation like this, when you're dealing with a lot of money, to make sure that they don't think that you've been overtaken by greed. And if you fall in those categories, you're going to fall prey to what EOS is doing. So you're seeing all these various decentralized applications. I believe they got one like Reddit called Karma's coming out. There's Ono, which is going to be the answer to the problems with social media sites run. And, um, you know, um, I'm not gonna go over all of these, but they're doing all kind of crazy stuff. Multiplayer online, real-time economic strategies, sites that deal with helping people, EOS chat sites, you know, these various things. And I'm sure it's gonna be a ton more, but, you know, of these that are gonna be added And they're going to be in great competition with, you know, other applications that aim to do the same thing, with the exception of, again, a great program, great developers behind it, and a lot of money. And it's already a top 10 cryptocurrency token. So where do you go? You know, how do you, how do you aim to go to the top 10? You're already in the top 10. So very interested to see what EOS is going to come up with. I'm especially excited about Ono, Karma, and I believe it's called Everpedia, which sounds something like Wikipedia, but it's dealing— it's decentralized and people be able to add content to it and various things like that. And I don't even know what this is, Billionaire Token, you know, but, but they're all gonna be headed over now and running on the EOS blockchain. So I'm obviously going to be paying attention to this, getting involved with this, and collecting some EOS tokens, obviously, as I do believe they are going to be a juggernaut and a force to be reckoned with and a force to deal with. So yeah, that's my report on EOS. Looks interesting. You know, I think I'm kind of in a situation where it's probably in my best interest to start building up my portfolio more in EOS. And, you know, obviously everybody needs to do their own research to see if EOS is a token that they want to get involved in. But so far it looks great, great to me. It looks like it's answering a lot of the questions of the public concerns, and I will be further getting involved with EOS to see where it goes.
