Hodgetwins - Steemit- Yay!

The Hodge Twins are moving to Steemit and DTube because YouTube pays almost nothing, even with millions of views. On Steemit, creators earn directly from the platform instead of relying on ads, and the twins' audience could bring millions of new users.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today I'm excited to talk about something that I had been kind of hearing about and I didn't really look into it. Had been hearing about the Hodge twins at comesteamit.com. And so when I checked out it, checked, checked up on that and found out that they had been here a little bit over a week before I discovered that they were here. And, uh, you know, this— these, uh, chain of events, a lot of them are happening due to, uh, a lot of, um, uh, things, uh, starting like Adpocalypse from YouTube. And, um, also, uh, uh, just, um, how YouTube is set up with their content creators and, uh, many surprising revelations, uh, you know, we we got to learn from the Hodge twins, um, you know, basically like, uh, you know, some of the kind of money that you can expect on YouTube, um, you know, even if you're getting a significant amount of views. I mean, um, uh, if you don't know who the Hodge twins are, they're like this comedy duo, uh, that are very popular on YouTube. Uh, just about everybody I know have watched their videos. I've been entertained by several of them. I love the guys and I'm very happy they're here on Steemit. But these guys have about 2 million followers, I think. So I think they might be the biggest YouTubers to come over to date. So when you, uh, when you think about that, uh, and you contrast that to the number of people on Steemit, I don't think Steemit even has 1 million people. I think it might have around 750,000 people right now. So So, um, they're doing pretty well. They're doing a great deal more than, um, what they make on YouTube, uh, or have in some instances an entire month. Um, I believe they may have mentioned something to the effect of they made over 3 million views in one particular month, and over the course of those 3 million views, they only received about $500, and they kind of jokingly, uh, joked about, uh, how, uh, the money had to be split between the both of them. So when they got through with taxes and, and, and all that, uh, you know, they were probably around $100 or so each for 3 million views. And when we compare that to, uh, uh, high-quality television productions, some of them struggle to maybe get 3 million viewers, uh, on some of, you know, they're on the TV shows, right? And these guys have this channel that are pulling tens of millions of views, you know, probably have hit a billion views since they've been on YouTube. And, you know, pulling in like $500 a month. So, you know, it does kind of reach a ridiculous level. And, you know, a lot of people attack YouTube. I'm not attacking YouTube per se because I've kind of looked into the mechanics of YouTube and how they operate not at a profit and very various things like that. So, uh, it might not, you know, be possible for them as a company to, uh, you know, to make money if I understand the mechanics of it correctly. But with the Hodge twins, I think this could be very big for Steemit. Um, and as these YouTubers come in, some of them make great deals of money. I've had discussions with people on Steemit who, uh, I think kind of see some of these big YouTubers, uh, kind of like when you think of athletes in the world of sports, you There used to be arguments that athletes got paid too much and various things like that. But I think that when you're dealing with this colossal amount of people who get this type of viewership, I personally think that's where those issues kind of go out the window and that these people do produce results more in line with the type of earnings they receive on Steemit. Probably unlike any other people, because the effect of possibly, uh, being able to bring, uh, millions of people to a platform, uh, you know, has a tremendous amount of value. So that's kind of where I am on that. I'm happy to see the Hodge twins here. I've had to leave my comment here, uh, you know, and I, my hope is that they will tell members that they know. A lot of these other big YouTubers I hear hanging out with, doing collaborations with, that get millions upon millions of views. My hope would be that they would tell them as well, because in theory, hopefully this translates to money. People buying Steam here, buying Steam there. A lot of these people um, in the entertainment industry that have a support system where there's Patreon or something like that, a lot of them are probably going to end up bringing a lot of that monetary support here with them as well. So I think overall that equates to it being a great situation overall for Steemit marketing, uh, that costs a tremendous amount of money. We've had to raise money for marketing in order to get people to know about Steemit through upvotes and various things, but these guys with their numbers, that they can bring the attention just by them alone. So, uh, like all of that, look forward to watching the Hodge Twins content on DTube. Uh, if you don't know what DTube is, um, I invite you to, um, uh, go and investigate DTube, which is proven to be a solution to a lot of people on YouTube right now. Guys, that's all I want to say. Uh, guys, if you like content like this, don't forget to like and subscribe. And until next time, take care.
