Incorporated Season 1 Episode 8 Operational Realignment [Review]

In this YouTube review, the host walks through the major plot threads of Incorporated season 1 episode 8, “Operational Realignment.” The episode opens with Theo’s continued use of an experimental performance‑enhancing drug, which drives him into violent, erratic behavior and culminates in a lethal cage‑fight. The reviewer then details Ben’s (formerly Aaron) memory‑wipe, his work with Hendrix to reconstruct Roger’s murder using a 3‑D forensic system, and the shocking revelation that the reconstruction points to Ben himself as the killer. Hendrix’s reluctance to restore Ben’s memories is explored, including his activation of a pre‑recorded fail‑safe that threatens to upload incriminating data to Spiga unless the memory restoration occurs, and his subsequent hack attempt that shortens the deadline. Julian’s investigation leads him into the Red Zone, where he reconnects with former military comrade Goran, who helps him pursue the truth about Roger’s death. Meanwhile, Laura finds purpose running a clinic in the Red Zone, treating a child with a failing artificial heart. The corporate subplot reveals a board member scheming against CEO Elizabeth, prompting her to seek Sanjay Mirage’s salt‑water crop technology as leverage. The reviewer wraps up with predictions for the final two episodes, hopes for a second season, and a call to like, subscribe, and return for the next review.

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel, and today we'll be reviewing Incorporated season 1 episode 8, Operational Realignment. And in this, um, opening scene, we get Theo And as we recall last week, Theo had been, um, an experimental drug had been used on Theo in his cage fighting matches. But as we get this opening episode, it appears that the drug is still very much in Theo's system. Or rather, it almost seems like Theo has become addicted to the drug, and his behavior is very, uh, you know, his erratic— he's very irrational. He, um, his partner is starting to see the effects of the drug, and it's really causing an issue in their relationship. And the scene opens up. Theo has a baseball bat and there is an escort. I, I'm not sure, I think it might be the same escort from last week's episode, and he, he appears to still have her with him. So I'm not sure if he has her with him, uh, you know, to, uh, you know, to keep, you know, keep him calm with the drug, or if he, you know, if he's now just decided that he prefers women. I'm not sure, but, uh, he, he actually is trying to knock a— he has a baseball bat, he's trying to knock a ball off her head. And his partner wakes up and sees what he's trying to do, and he tells him, hey, you need to stop, you're gonna kill her. You know, his partner's trying very hard to stop him, but, um, you know, Theo is just, you know, really— he's just really gone over the edge. And, you know, he begins to threaten his partner. His partner tries to fight him back, but, you know, Theo's, you know, uh, you know, attacks him, you know, takes the baseball bat from him. And his partner actually ends up, you know, leaving because he's just, you know, it seems he's had enough with, you know, Theo being under the influence of this drug. So In the next scene, we again get the, um, the escort from last week. And, um, you know, Theo was basically, uh, still have, you know, having his, uh, you know, his episode. And she seems to be enjoying, uh, everything's going on. So they're just kind of having a party now, but this is a different Theo. This is a Theo who, he's not only under the influence of the drug, but he seems to like it. So in this episode, um, or scene rather, Theo arrives, you know, back with Terrence and there is, um, they, they have a, they have another fight, uh, scheduled. And this time, you know, each week the opponent seems to get better and better. So, you know, so there's a new fighter and he seems quite mysterious, and they're, they're worried about Theo. Um, you know, they don't think that Theo, um, you know, is in the proper condition to take on another fight right now. Um, I don't think they're quite certain or sure about what this drug ultimate effect will be on Theo, but Theo's ready to go. Theo's ready to fight, and he wants them to, um, you know, uh, give him some more of the drug, and he wants to go ahead and fight this guy. But, you know, you know, as I can— you know, as you can— you're starting to see that, uh, Theo's becoming an addict of this drug. And so he, he starts fighting. Worst comes to worst, and, uh, you know, the drug does kick in and Theo does win the fight, but this time he actually takes someone's life. So Theo does win the fight, but we can see what the drug is doing to You know, Theo, it's, it's totally changed him and it's starting to take over his life. So, you know, in this scene, as we recall, we've been, um, last week that Julian Morris here was closing in on him. Julian, um, had, um you know, decided to use the Everclear mind machine to interrogate everyone in the company, specifically Ben, because he really, you know, is closing in that Ben, everything revolves around Ben, that Ben is the link to it all. And so in this scene, he's actually being tested. The machine is actually being used on, you know, Ben in order to find out exactly what his involvement is. But Ben was knowing this was going to happen. Ben, along with Hendrix, he was able to go ahead and erase all of the memory of who he was as Aaron. So at this point, the only thing that Ben, um, is aware of is the— is his life in the Green Zone. And, uh, so all of the Aaron memories are erased. And so as, um, you know, Aaron's asking him questions, uh, Ben is able to basically answer the questions, uh, with only the knowledge of, you know, being Ben Larson. So even though Ben has passed the, uh, the machine, Julian still, you know, as a person who's been doing this for many years, you know, he's sticking with his hunch. He still believes that Ben, you know, is involved with this some type of way, even though he's at a point now where he can't prove it. But being, uh, now being actually Ben, as he has no recollection of who Aaron is, he's actually, uh, trying to help Julian to find out, find who killed Roger. So, you know, he's, you know, he's really trying to find the, uh, you know, the murderer. And Ben is very smart, so Ben's using all of his knowledge and skills to assist Julian. You know, he's letting Julian know, hey Julian, you know, Roger was, you know, one of my best friends. Although he was a jerk, he was still one of my, you know, my best friends. I want to do everything I can to help you find his killer. And so they actually— Julian and Ben, they actually go back to the crime scene of everything that happened. And, you know, Ben's very sharp, so Ben is basically there and examining the scene of the crime, and he's able to, you know, through some technology and just some know-how, Ben is trying to come up with a way to recreate the entire crime scene, in which he'll be able to actually identify who the murderer was. And so this is what Ben is doing now on the rooftop, you know, with this device. And I'm not certain what exactly this device does. I don't know if it's through use of security cameras or some kind of way it can create this crime scene, like recreate it three-dimensionally. And so Ben's setting this all up, and I mean, he's on it. He's using every, you know, all his know-how in order to help to catch Roger's killer, who just happens to be him. And so, you know, after Ben becomes, uh, or Aaron, the part of him that is Aaron is erased, you know, this is a different Ben now. This is a more, uh, a likable Ben for everybody in the Green Zone, you know. And so he's very nice to Laura, he's very thoughtful, you know, he's fully committed to her now. He wants to spend quality time with her, he takes the day off early, he wants to buy her gifts, and she's really enjoying this new Ben. But also, he kind of acts like a stranger, so, you know, because she's never seen him like this. Because now this is a Ben who's totally uninterrupted, you know, by thoughts of Elena, and he's not held back by anything. He can just have a happy life with his wife Laura in the Green Zone, and, uh, you know, he's just unburdened. So this is an interesting scene, um, because while Ben is cruising in his driverless car, um, he's going, well, I want to buy my wife, you know, a nice gift. And, you know, he decides on buying her a ring. And so, um, what's interesting is the ring that he decides to buy her is almost an exact replica of the ring that Elena gave him. So, you know, that basically lets us know that although, um, you know, Eren is erased, or the memory of Eren is supposed to be erased, somewhere in his mind he's, he's still thinking about Elena. There are still fragments of, you know, uh, Elena. And, uh, even though he can't figure out what it is, he's still— those memories are still kind of coming to the surface. So, you know, not only Laura is enjoying this new band, but apparently Hendrix, who got him in the green zone, is enjoying this new band too, because this is a This being without Aaron makes his life very easy because he's not threatened by, you know, Ben exposing them. He's focused on Laura, he's focused on his life in the Green Zone, and Hendrix really likes that because Hendrix really wish Elena wasn't in the picture. He wished that, you know, that there wouldn't be an Elena and Ben going on these dangerous escapades and putting them all in danger. So, uh, Hendrix has basically decided that he's not going to, uh, give Ben back his memories. Like, he has no intentions of, uh, you know. And it's kind of strange because, uh, last week when I saw them coming up with the plan, or Ben coming up with the plan where his memory would be wiped, and then, you know, when this, you know, they, they help us to understand that Hendrix's— the key to giving him, you know, reimplanting his memories back. My— but the first question came to my mind was, why would Hendrix do that? Because, you know, this would be what Hendrix actually wanted, you know. This would be a— you know, why would he put Aaron back in and expose them? But we find out, uh, you know, well, actually Hendrix does exactly what I thought he would do, and that's decide not to do it, not to give Ben back his errand side. But of course, Ben being sharp and anticipating that Hendrix would try something like that, he, he has a, uh, a, uh, a, um, a pre-recorded message that calls his phone and lets them know, hey, uh, you know, basically if you're getting this message, it means that you haven't restored my memory yet. And that's bad for you because I already have it set up to where all of the information on you will go to the Spiga Corporation and you will be exposed. And there's a kind of countdown to where this data is going to be uploaded for Spiga to get it unless Hendrix, you know, puts, you know, gives Benz back his memories as Aaron. And he's the only one who can stop it. So Hendrix now is forced to, uh, comply. But Hendrix decides, you know what, I'm really tired of this. I'm really tired of, uh, this entire situation. So there's got to be another way. So Hendrix decides to try to hack You know, he decides to try to hack into, uh, Ben's system and its data to try to stop it, to try to stop the upload to Spiga. And Ben has a failsafe that kicks in, and it's kind of funny, uh, what happens because, you know, Ben has already, you know, uh, is already several steps ahead of Hendrix on this. He knows Hendrix is going to try all he can to get out of this situation. And, um, so what happens is, as he attempts— as Hendricks attempts to hack it, this failsafe, you know, kicks in. And Ben's telling him, hey, you know, you still haven't done it yet, and you're— that means that you're trying to hack into the system. I'm aware of that. And so now, instead of you having 72 hours to get, um, this, you know, to get my memories back in my head. You now have only half of that, or 36 hours. So, you know, so, uh, that even puts more pressure on, on Hendrix to get this thing done. So this is another interesting scene because what we see is we see Julian going down to the Red Zone. And the reason Julian is going down to the Red Zone is because the crime that happened when Roger was— he's investigating Roger's murder and he's doing it in the Red Zone. And he's trying to get all the information he can about, you know, um, you know, who was there, who was, who was in that area. And, and so the person he goes to see about this in the Red Zone is actually the, the gang leader, or the person who's the leader of the community who helped Laura to set up the clinic from last week's episode. So, you know, to basically— after he's taken control of the community, he now wants to try to make himself out to be a stable and a leader that people can rally behind. So he wants the support of the people basically now. And so What's interesting about it is we discovered that, uh, and I believe the gen— the guy's name is Goran. We, we, we discovered that Goran and Julian actually have a past, that they were, they were both in the military together and they were both in the same unit, and Julian was his commanding officer, or he was a captain. And so they have a very, uh, strong, um a brotherhood, you know, from, from being in the military. And, and, uh, even though Goran is in the Red Zone, he chose to, to go into the Red Zone, and Julian chose to join the corporation and go into the Green Zone, that, that, that military brotherhood, it still holds them together, and they still kind of have this code between each other where, where they can— they'll always help each other and be there for each other. And that's what's happening in this scene. That, you know, that that basically, uh, you know, outranks, you know, whatever differences they have. And so Gordon has agreed to help Julian to help to try to find out who, uh, murdered Roger. And so, you know, uh, basically this is Laura in the Red Zone and she's at the clinic now. And, uh, you know, so she's finding her purpose. This is what she really wanted to do. She really wanted to use her medical degree to really help people who were in need of help and not just help people to look better, you know, to get, uh, do plastic surgery and things like that. So she's actually— her— one of her first patients is, um, a young, a young kid who has an artificial heart and it's been malfunctioning. It's not working properly. And Laura was there trying to, uh, to help him out. So this is actually, um, Julian, you know, um, investigating Roger's body. That's, that's Roger's body they've recovered. And this is a, this is an interesting scene because what we have here is we have a board member who's actually plotting against, uh, Elizabeth. And he basically wants, uh, Julian to come on his side and, uh, basically, basically be a spy and feed information back to him because their plan is to eventually oust Elizabeth from CEO. But Julian is, uh you know, basically, uh, uh, really not interested in helping. He's loyal to Elizabeth, and so he kind of just, you know, brushes this guy off. So Julian informs Elizabeth that, hey, you know, your time as CEO, you know, is— you know, they're trying to oust you. About this, they're trying to make that come to an end. And so Elizabeth knows she has to, in order to keep the board on her side and get rid of the board member who's trying to bring her down, she knows she has to find Sanjay Mirage. You know, he's the key to bringing their corporation into the situation they wanted to be in because he's the person who's found a way to make, uh, their crops grow because he's found a way to use salt water to, uh, you know, to be tolerable to the plants so that the plants can still grow. And so, you know, this is a, this is a very, this is a very interesting scene because, you know, in this scene, uh, the technology that Ben was using. Um, he's able to get it to work, and I'm not exactly sure how this technology works. I'm not sure if he used some type of camera and computer, uh, uh, intuitive program that can kind of anticipate, you know, uh, what a crime scene looks like. Kind of like when you get, uh, in a lot of these cop shows and a lot of these forensic science shows we watch on TV where they show up and they investigate a crime scene and they try to basically reconstruct the crime scene as to what happened. Well, I guess this program, it can actually in a 3-dimensional way, you know, recreate almost to— and it seems to a T what happened. And, uh, and not only that, but I, I'm assuming through some type of cameras or something or another Basically, it's able to recreate the image too. So again, I'm not exactly sure how the technology works and, you know, how they were able to make it work, but basically that's what's happening. And it's creating— it was able to create a 3-dimensional image of who killed Roger. But, you know, as Ben's working this thing, he's starting it— as this image is, you know, becoming visible, he's saying that, hey, you know, this image looks exactly like me. So, you know, basically, uh, the scene kind of— the episode kind of ends there. It kind of ends with, you know, being realizing that it's him that's killed Roger. But at this point, he's still unaware why, you know, because he, he doesn't have his memories of Aaron. You know, all he's saying is that Well, this is weird. Um, you know, I killed Roger, but I have no idea why, you know. And so it's still, uh, you know, uh, left up to Hendrix to put his memories back in. Um, you know, basically, um, Hendrix, he was gonna just skip town, you know. It seems to me that Hendrix was just, you know, he, he didn't want to be caught up in it anymore at all after he couldn't hack through, you know, being system, he decided, hey, it's time for me to just skip town. I'm not gonna, you know, stick around, you know, for this anymore. And, um, you know, there's this scene with him and his daughter, and his— he wants to take— he's telling his daughter, and, you know, that they're gonna go camping up in the mountains or something like that because, uh, Hendrix doesn't plan on coming back. But, you know, It's just this really touching scene with his daughter, and she's like, all my friends in the green zone, and I really don't want to go there, Daddy. I want to stay with my friends. And I guess it kind of gets to Hendrix. So I think it seems like Hendrix is going to stay because he's hugging his daughter and he's saying, I will never do that to you. I will never take you, you know, away from your home and friends. And, and, and so, uh, it seems like, you know, Hendrix is gonna, you know, go ahead and put, you know, uh, Aaron's memory, you know, or Ben's memories as Aaron back into him. But, uh, you know, it's just, you know, now, uh, you know, my prediction is Ben is going to keep this hidden away, that he is, uh, you know, that it's him who killed Roger. Let's, you know, at least until he can figure out what's going on. And, uh, you know, and, uh, until Hendrix can get, you know, him back, uh, you know, get his, his memories back. Although he doesn't really know you know, what was going on. So, uh, you know, I, you know, I was kind of confused by last week because I was wondering— I, I knew that Hendrix wouldn't, uh, you know, be so, uh, you know, eager to, uh, give, uh, Ben back his memories. But, uh, I didn't know that how Ben, you know, had this— you know, I didn't know how he was gonna be able to get Hendrix to do it back. I knew he was a smart guy, but I don't know, for some reason I would thinking he was— he would have these fail-safes. For some reason, I was thinking that it was going to be Elena somehow that, you know, was going to convince Ben again that he was Aaron from the episode last week when they made contact. But, uh, it didn't go that way. But, uh, very interesting episode, you know. I thought it was— I thought it was good. It went pretty well, um, and, uh, um You know, it's only 2 more episodes left. Uh, you know, I really like the show. I'm hoping it does get a second season, but so far I haven't heard, um, uh, you know, Syfy, uh, I have— haven't heard any announcements that they will be ordering a second season, you know. Although, um, a lot of science fiction shows or Syfy Channel shows do get, you know, that second season. I, I don't think I've seen one yet where they've canceled on the first season. And I think, I'm at least, I'm assuming that the show's ratings on Syfy, you know, have, you know, been good enough to justify a second season. So again, we're down to our last two. I look forward to the next few episodes, and I hope you guys enjoyed these, um, uh, this episode tonight. Um, and, uh, be sure to come back next week, uh, to tune in as we will review the next episode And, um, don't forget to like and subscribe. Take care, guys.
