Inhumans Episode 4 ( Review)

In this solo YouTube review, the host walks through Marvel’s Inhumans episode 4, “Make Way for Medusa,” reflecting on the series’ shift from its IMAX‑theatrical opening to a more conventional TV look. He notes the visual downgrade, but remains entertained, positioning the show as a decent superhero series comparable to CW‑style Marvel shows rather than the higher‑budget Netflix or Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. productions. The review outlines key plot beats: Maximus’ scheming to become king while grappling with his newfound mortality, Black Bolt’s escape and reunion with Medusa, Karnak’s jungle conflict and hinted romance, Crystal’s isolated storyline, and the limited screen time for Lockjaw and Grogan. Production critiques focus on CGI budget constraints, especially the reliance on teleportation over a ship, and the overall limited episode count (8) which the reviewer views as a strength for maintaining quality. He concludes that despite flaws, the series remains entertaining and invites viewers to share their own opinions.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we're going to talk Inhumans episode 4. I believe the title is Make Way for Medusa. And guys, uh, uh, as we get into, uh, episode 4, we're about halfway through the series now. I believe it's only 8 episodes I'm starting to see some differences in what we're getting or what we got with the IMAX cameras in the beginning. As we know, Inhumans was aired in the movie theaters, the first 2 episodes, this big cinematic experience. And I didn't watch it at the movie theaters. Maybe I should have, maybe I could have got the full effect, full scale of the IMAX cameras. But what I do notice is I notice as we get up into the episodes, I can see now the difference between what we got with the scale of those IMAX cameras and some of these shots as we move forward. This is definitely, to me, starting to feel a great deal like TV. But I've always kind of been lenient with what to expect from the Inhumans, you know, it being on television, having a limited budget. And I just naturally set a different bar for a weekly TV serial and what we get at the movie theater. But I can say that I've continued to be entertained by Inhumans. It's still holding my attention. You know, is it a great Marvel TV show? Is it one of these, you know, great ones? Is it on the scale of like what we get with the Netflix Marvel shows? No, absolutely not. But I think Inhumans does a good job as a TV superhero show, you know, on the scale of, you know, what we get with CW shows. You know, some people may disagree with that, but I, I think it's pretty darn close, especially for ABC. You know, I don't, I don't ever think ABC's been the best, you know, has handled Marvel shows that great. I was never really a fan big fan of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I felt they kind of teased a lot of the Inhuman storyline with Maximus and with Black Bolt, and we finally get that in their own show. And I still rather much watch this story than what we were getting through, you know, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. So I still much prefer this to it. At certain points in the story, does it seem a little bit weaker? Does it? Yeah, but overall, I think it's a fairly decent show. Also keeping in mind, it was looking like we were going to get nothing from the Inhumans story, as it didn't seem like they wanted to do anything, you know, with it. They, they have so many other Marvel movies on the Marvel, the MCU, uh, lined up. And so somehow Inhumans didn't make it in there. So my assumption is it didn't make it in there because they just didn't feel it was, uh, as important as these other stories. Maybe not as popular, although I've always liked Inhuman stories. So that's what we got, guys. But anyway, we're still moving on the Inhumans family, you know, throughout this episode. They're trying to, uh, basically reunite, right? And, um, Maximus is still trying to, uh, solidify his place there as king, lead the Inhumans, uh, to Earth. And Maximus kind of hits a roadblock. We got to see because this is what I like how they what they've done with the show, how they kind of got Maximus pulling all the strings, um, you know, uh, or was— has always been doing that kind of for the Moon on Earth. Because I would have expected, you know, a group with advanced technology who can— who are smarter than humans to be somewhat manipulating humans, especially if you got factions that were against Black Bolt's reign. So I like how they got Maximus kind of the head of everything, and you don't know who every— like, you know, pretty much everything that's happening on Earth, Maximus is kind of pulling the strings there. But he runs into a monkey wrench, and that is, you know, as we got to see, he couldn't kill Black Bolt because Black Bolt is offering now, or possibly may hold a key to getting Maximus to being an Inhuman, what he was before. Maximus does not want to be human, and some type of way the Terrigenesis process converted him to a human being, so now he's mortal, he can die quickly, and is vulnerable like a human, nothing more than a human. And so kind of needs Maximus alive, as we got to see, kind of got this doctor kind of under his thumb that he's pulling strings on. and as they were doing research with Maximus and various things, or rather Black Bolt, Maximus trying to unlock those keys. We also got this interesting story going on with Karnak. It looks pretty interesting as Karnak, you know, he's pretty much given up on, you know, reuniting with his family. He's found something else. To occupy his attention, but it doesn't seem to be going very well. There's this weird thing going on with the, uh, the, uh, the kind of the head of this little group or gang that looks like they're harvesting these illegal drugs out, um, in the, in the jungle, rather. And, um, he, he It says that he needs, uh, extra hands to keep this process going. And whereas he's in this argument with this one guy about it, they seem to, uh— I guess it ends well because we get to see him dead. And he was saying he only needed two other people, so I don't— I'm not understanding that process. Uh, uh, you know, it does— you know, does— is he trying to keep it so hush-hush that he literally only needs a couple of hands and he's willing to kill whoever the extra dead weight is. I'm assuming that must be what it is because he's burying one guy. It's almost like he's letting Karnak replace him. So I guess he's not gonna be— I guess Karnak won't be able to leave now. So he has a very interesting operation going on there. You know, I'm not quite sure why he would have needed those people anyway. Uh, but, uh, that's what we got with that. And, um, you know, of course we get Crystal and Lockjaw. Still not sure how I feel about Lockjaw. You know, Lockjaw, to me, uh, I, I wish they— you know, as I said earlier, I wish they would have done him, done his story a bit different. About his powers and not getting a whole lot of screen time with Lockjaw. I'm assuming because maybe the CGI budget, but he doesn't look bad as far as the CGI is concerned. I just don't like— in fact, I've had an issue with how they teleport from the moon to Earth, you know, basically since the beginning. I think I would have preferred some type of ship. But, um, maybe that's a budget constraint as well. Uh, and I've had some ideas about how they could do that, but teleportation again is the cheapest way to go. Uh, Star Trek— there's a story about Star Trek, how a lot of teleportation got started in science fiction and how it's been very convenient and very, uh, cost-effective you know, for a lot of these shows. But I've been entertained by the Inhumans. There's only 4 more episodes, I think, remaining. A lot of people complaining about that. They say, oh, it's not enough. I think it's enough. I, you know, because I don't want Inhumans to be— I'm entertained enough so far. I don't want it to start to just— I don't want to go through 15, 20 seasons and, you know, they don't got much story to tell. And, uh, you know, it can't even get to a season 2. So I'm fine with the, um, uh, the 8 episodes. Um, a lot of shows are doing that now. I would much rather 8 episodes of the best quality you can deliver than, uh, you know, 20 episodes of me, you know, you know, watching time and going, well, I don't think I'm gonna be back next week, or I may skip a week or so. Uh, And so, um, you know, we also get Black Bolt. He does escape from this doctor in this facility, and, uh, Medusa finds him with the help of the same doctor who we got in the beginning who sent the, the Land Rover to the moon, and, uh, uh, Grogan, uh, stomped it with his hooves. And they keep talking about that, uh, so she's an interesting kind of comical relief uh, inclusion in the story. Not sure how I feel about that either. Uh, it, you know, that kind of puts a little wackiness on it to me. I feel Lockjaw, he's kind of already that element. So, you know, uh, but all in all, guys, I'm entertained. I'm entertained by the show. Uh, maybe in the next episode we'll finally get to see all the Inhumans reunite as We have gotten Black Bolt and we've gotten Medusa now together, king and queen. And, uh, you know, perhaps now, uh, Black Bolt, now he has Medusa back, he could focus a lot more, try to get to the other members. Crystal's, uh, out in the country somewhere making friends. Uh, Grogan's still dealing with you know, fighting this war as he's being hunted and, you know, dealing with losing some newfound troops under his command. And of course, again, we had Karnak having his romance or his romantic interest, and I thought that was very interesting for Karnak. I think when he does come to, I'm interested in seeing how he reacts to possibly leaving behind his love interest and going to serve the interests of his family. Anyway guys, that's my thoughts on this episode of Inhumans this week. Tell me what you think. Tell me, are you starting to like Inhumans now a little bit, or if you're still kind of on the fence about it, or if it's just, you know, okay show, which I think it is for me. I like the fact I'm still entertained by it though. That's a— to me, that's a telltale sign of whether it's a bad show or not.
