In this episode of the "In Search of Good Coins" series, the host examines the MANA token, positioning it as a universal basic income (UBI) cryptocurrency. He outlines the token’s original intent to provide a blockchain‑based, universally accessible basic income, references the broader UBI discourse (e.g., Andrew Yang), and evaluates MANA’s historical market performance—highlighting minimal recent volume versus brief spikes during the bull market. The discussion then shifts to a speculative future where AI and robotics cause massive job displacement, arguing that a token like MANA could become a viable tool for distributing value when traditional government solutions may falter. The host critiques the token’s current lack of sustainability, attributing it to human greed and insufficient economic design, and suggests that hybrid models (such as his own BitcoinMYK project) might better balance UBI with capitalistic incentives. He concludes that while MANA is presently underperforming, it warrants monitoring for potential relevance in a post‑automation economy, and ends with a standard call‑to‑action for viewers.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel, and today we're featuring Mana Token in our In Search of Good Coins series. So what is Mana Token? Mana Token is basically a universal basic income token. It was probably one of the most popular that I could remember throughout the cryptocurrency history. Universal basic income has become a very hot topic over the last few years. It's become such a very important topic in the United States that we have a serious presidential candidate by the name of Andrew Yang who's actually running on the platform of universal basic income. And I gotta tell you that He doesn't sound like a quack. He doesn't sound like a socialist. But if you listen to him long enough, he actually makes a lot of sense. And so what we try to do in this series is we try to gather cryptocurrencies that we feel are necessary to the advancement of humankind. It's something that has a use case, something that we really need to use, some significant, and something that as well requires blockchain technology. Because if it doesn't require blockchain technology to accomplish it, then it's probably, you know, doesn't really have any value in the cryptocurrency space, right? So when we think about universal basic income and the MANA token, where it fits into this, Mana token fits in as using blockchain technology to send out this, this value, these payments over the blockchain. And as we can see, Mana token doesn't do hardly any volume. It only did $5 over the last 24 hours. Going back to the bull run market, did a lot better. Some days were about $10,000, $11,000, but it was hit by the bear market, as we can see, a great deal. But not only just that, I think the model for MANA token just fails at a time, at a particular— or was released at a time in history where Universal basic income and the need for it were things of science fiction. Now it has become quite plausible that a robotics revolution, super AI, is on the way and it's going to create a huge job displacement. So that's going to leave a few options on the table for what to do with these displaced workers. And so one idea has been using the blockchain, using cryptocurrency as a means to move value to society, to be able to support society in a time of this uncertainty of what artificial intelligence, uh, may mean to us. In any event, many have concluded that doing something rather than nothing makes more sense, and perhaps one solution is something like MANA token. Now, uh, in this series, again, uh, we consider MANA token to be a good token on the list. That's why it's included in the In Search Of, not because of what we see happening with MANA token today right now, but what could possibly happen with MANA or one of its relatives in the future. So we believe a token like MANA token is still trading every day, may be able to pick up at this coming time in the future when we're faced with such a threat as a robotics revolution. Blockchain technology, we feel, will also present a much better option than what could be a very chaotic attempt by governments to try to solve this problem, which they don't seem to have done a very, very good job at doing. Uh, and so in using something like blockchain technology. And I'm trying to find their website here so we can take a look at it. Let me go back up to the top, see if I might be able to discover it there. Let's see what we got here. There we are, it is up here. Let's click on that. But we feel that it may present a great solution to the problem. Uh, and this website is still functioning, still working, a very pretty nice looking website. Um, although little to no trading, it does seem to— somebody seems to still be paying the bills. What is Mana, the people's currency? Mana is the world's first universally acceptable, accessible People Power Alternative Currency. No matter who you are or where you're from, we believe you have a basic human right to share in the money supply. Isn't that a great way to put that? That this kind of is reminiscent of the research done by Dr. Putnam of Harvard University who talks about social capital, human capital, and the contextual framework of money, uh, that we may have it backwards, right? That the value— that people are probably more valuable than anything on the planet. And so the real monetary value lies with us, not a precious metal or stone or, or fuel or some type of energy, uh, like we tend to think of, but it lies in us. And thus we If the value lies in us, the value should exude out of us. So very interesting to look at. Now, of course, and it kind of goes into the evolution of money and things like that, but now, of course, uh, Mana token still doesn't seem to be doing quite well. And so there's something missing in this economic philosophy, isn't there? And one idea is that perhaps what's What's missing is it's just not sustainable, right? We're unfortunately, we're just not altruistic people. We're not going to hand over our money to help people even if in the end it results in it being part of our own best interest. The human greed, human psychologically, or psyche rather, doesn't allow us to do that. And so we are kind of trapped in this vicious cycle. And so this is the problem mana faces until this chosen time where we believe mana will actually be well utilized with blockchain technology and dispersed to the people who need them to keep a society intact, to keep a civilization intact. That may face an issue that it has not yet faced. That's the advancement of artificial intelligence, super AI, robotics. It is hard to predict the advancements of technology to this degree. So Mana token hasn't succeeded as of yet. We believe it will But we do believe there are hybrids that incorporate a form of universal basic income and a more traditional capitalistic earning capacity and finds a way to balance these elements and generate a form of universal basic income to people. And one such project is one I started called BitcoinMYK that I'll leave a link in the description for that you can check out now. And it may have some, at this particular point in time, more sustainable features in place to make it work more efficiently. However, MANA token is one you want to keep your eye on, uh, at some point in the future. Guys, that's all I want to say in this video.
