In this video, the host discusses the integration of Miko's Coin (MECO) with the Weku social network, which mirrors Steemit's platform but operates with an ERC-20 token. The speaker outlines the similarities between Weku and Steemit—identical voting and power‑up systems—and notes key differences, chiefly the lack of an internal liquid market for Weku's native token. Concerns are raised about the current inability to cash out rewards, pending an ICO that could establish a tradable market. The host explains MECO's referral and upvote incentive program, offering 1 MECOS token per activity, which is already tradable on the Waves decentralized exchange. The video positions Weku as a potential competitor to Steemit, arguing that competition can drive better products, while also acknowledging skepticism about Weku's viability and the broader ICO climate. Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we want to talk about Miko's Coin joining the Weku social network. And so, you know, as we can clearly see, Weku looks exactly like Steemit.com. And so, you know, they basically created an identical site. Now, some differences with Weku is that they're going to be using an ERC-20 token. So they seem to want to raise money on the Ethereum blockchain. Um, and so, you know, Weku, looking at it, um, if you use Steemit, you know, obviously you're going to look at this and you're going to say, well, this is just Steemit, and so, uh, what's going to be the difference between Weku and Steemit? So, um, you know, as far as I can see, there aren't going to be any differences. Um, I think the only difference one might find on Weku is, um, maybe an opportunity they didn't have on Steemit. So some people want to be at the beginning of a site like Steemit, uh, some people want better distribution on Steemit, and so people want different things and probably have various reasons for wanting to, uh, engage in other social media platforms similar to Steemit. You know, but in a— but in addition to that, there seems to be a much-needed competition for Steamit at some point. Competition drives better quality products, and it causes entities to innovate, and it causes, you know, it to be a good situation overall, I think, for, for everyone. So Looking at Weku, it has the power-up system similar to Steemit. It has the same voting system, seems to run on the same identical protocol, but with the exceptions of the update that Steemit has now undergone with the hard fork 20. But some people are concerned about Weku because what they're saying is that, well, Weku Um, they, you know, they've noticed that you can vote but you can't cash out. There's no internal market that trades. And so, uh, even though we're voting and, you know, it appears that people are getting paid in these Weku dollars, these Weku dollars don't have a liquid market at this time, which means that, you know, obviously they'll— they, they have a plan to do some type of ICO. And then at this point in time, I guess then they will have this liquid market if, you know, if it works out like it's supposed to. So some people are concerned about that. Some people don't like that idea, don't like that concept. This hasn't been a great time for ICOs, although there are some social media platforms that are pulling off their ICOs and various things like that. Uh, and so what we're looking to do here with Miko's Coin being involved is on our website, um, they have a referral program. They have, as you can see, an upvote system here. And, um, I'm under the assumption that after their ICO, they, they will have their internal markets and, and various things like that. Up and running. And so one, one hope for us is to, uh, kind of create this hub like what we're doing with many social media, uh, type-based platforms and, uh, create this type of hub where if you're, um, visiting our content, if you, if you're referred by us, then you can gain our tokens, which do actually trade on exchange at this time. So might kind of open, have a kind of an in-between gateway for y'all up until that point in time. But obviously the idea is for Weku to, you know, have a liquid market. It seems to be being compared to Solarcoin, many of these other would-be huge social networks that didn't have a liquid market, and I think they start to either die away or people aren't really using them. And so I think it's very important coming in with a project like this that you do have a blueprint in order to go forward and to be successful. And so we're looking at Weku, you know, we can only look at and go, well, maybe it can duplicate some of the success of Steemit. Maybe it can't. At this time, we do not know. But for those of you all who participate in Weku, if you use the referral links and various things like that, we will award you 1 MECOS token for the activities that you do. And for the content that you upvote, you get a MECOS token for that, and it can be traded on Waves decentralized exchange. So that's what we're going to be doing at this point in time in our involvement with the, with the Weku. Platform. You know, some people kind of feel like Weku might possibly be a scam. This was kind of similar to how Steam was in the beginning, and so it's gonna be interesting to watch what happens with Weku. It does seem to be quite a few people participating, you know, and posting and participating. So, you know, it doesn't seem like it'll be hard for them to start trading on an exchange, but You know, as a site like this already exists, Steemit, and it works very well. I think what Weku would have to do is they would have to be able to create a good alternative to Steemit, you know, as to why people should be using it. And I think they partially have that story together, as again, a lot of people might want to get in on the early success of a Steemit-like platform. Some people might not be happy in their current role or current position position on the Steem blockchain. So whatever the case may be, this is possibly going to be an option for some of them, right? And so guys, that's all I want to say about Weku on our— on the MECO coin website. You'll be able to participate through Weku and earn MECO coin tokens whilst participating. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us over on live support. Support on Miko's Coin. And, um, that's all I want to say in this video, guys. Guys, if you like content like this, don't forget to like and subscribe. And until next time, take care.
