Punisher Trailer Review

The creator's skepticism about Netflix's Marvel universe flips after watching The Punisher's second trailer. Jon Bernthal's method acting and the gritty Bourne-like tone impressed him, especially with the introduction of Micro as Frank Castle's tech support and Rawlins, a CIA operative hunting the Punisher.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today I want to talk about the Punisher trailer we got. This is trailer number 2, I believe. Still not sure what the release date is, but guys, this trailer looks awesome and kind of has me kind of taking back some words that I mentioned earlier in some of the Marvel Netflix shows, I had mentioned that I wasn't very excited about them overcrowding the, the Netflix Marvel Universe with too many shows. And, you know, I had spoke about upcoming Punisher. I had spoke about Colleen Wing and Detective Misty Knight getting their own series as well, and I just thought it was too overcrowded. And although I like the Punisher, I was kind of concerned about him doing his own show and all of these Marvel Netflix shows being out there. And but after seeing this trailer, immediately changed my mind. I wasn't sure what they were gonna do to do with, with the Punisher, you know, who he was going to be fighting, what his story was going to be. But, um, I just think it all looks excellent. Now, what was really cool about the trailer, as I was trying to identify some of the stuff that was going on— of course, we, we get him teaming up with Micro, who's known as Microchip in the comic books. That's his, uh, technical support. And, uh, so we, we get that set up. And we also, um, have, um, as I researched online, uh, uh, the character from the comics of Rawlins who, um, works with the CIA. And apparently, uh, this, uh, you know, particular, uh, story seems to be CIA black ops trying to take out the Punisher. Apparently he must have witnessed something, you know, something that he wasn't supposed to, or, you know, and, you know, basically they're after him, they're trying to kill him. And we just get this awesome action-packed trailer with the Punisher. Also, what I want to Say about the actor here, Bernthal, who plays the Punisher. You know, watching several movies with the Punisher, I remember probably the first I could remember starred Dolph Lundgren. A lot of people don't remember that one, but Dolph Lundgren, the guy who played the Russian boxer from the Rocky movies, played He-Man. He actually took on the character of the Punisher. A lot of people thought the movie was horrible. And then later we got, in the early 2000s, we got one where John Travolta played, you know, one of the enemies of the Punisher. I can't remember his name now, but he was mafia-related or something like that. And then we finally get Bernthal here with the Marvel Netflix series, and he's just killing it. He's doing an excellent job. And as I understand from the character after watching some interviews, he actually stays in character as the Punisher, you know. So he's actually walking around, you know, as the Punisher in real life. So I just thought that was a lot of dedication to the craft, and it really— he really comes off great. Great, uh, you know, in this character. But just trying to put together the pieces of what this show is going to be, you know, how, how it's going to come across. I just keep getting this imagery of a type of, uh, uh, Jason Bourne vibe. And, you know, we could see a lot of ties to Jason Bourne, uh, Jason Bourne when he was with, uh, Treadstone, I believe it was called, the Black Ops organization and how they were after him as well and trying to kill him. Seeing Frank Castle or the Punisher going through a similar thing, and I really love to see that type of show on TV. You know, his— the enemies of the Punisher obviously are going to be more based in reality, more like, you know, it's probably, you know, it's not going to be all of this superhero stuff going on so much, although hopefully we will get to see the Punisher, you know, meet up, engage, maybe get some help from, you know, Daredevil or Jessica Jones and things like that. But I like the way this show looks. I'm definitely going to tune in. Very impressed with what I, you know, what I've seen. And guys, tell me what you think. Are you excited about the Punisher? I am now convinced that we can have another superhero show. The Punisher— still not convinced about Colleen Wang and Detective Misty Knight, you know, her bionic arm. I don't know, we'll have to see how they set that up. But guys, anyway, tell me what you think. Tell me if you're excited to see The Punisher. Guys, if you like content like this, don't forget to like, subscribe, and And until next time, take care.
