In this YouTube commentary, the host passionately argues that the fan‑made series Star Trek Continues deserves to be treated as official Star Trek canon. He praises the series for faithfully recreating the look, feel, and storytelling of The Original Series, highlighting its use of familiar episodes and its exploration of what happened to original characters after the series ended. The host especially lauds Vic Mignogna’s performance as Captain Kirk, describing it as the most accurate portrayal he has ever seen. He notes that the project was a nonprofit, Kickstarter‑funded effort, and suggests that if future official Star Trek productions (e.g., Star Trek Discovery) wanted to revisit the original era, Star Trek Continues would be an ideal template. The video concludes with a call for viewer opinions, a wish for more episodes, and a reminder to like and subscribe.

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. And today I want to talk a little bit about Star Trek Continues. You know, this was got to be the most well-done Star Trek fan film I've ever seen. They just got everything right. And I, my opinion is I think it should be definitely considered canon. And I think what a lot of Star Trek fans, if they haven't seen it, once they see it, they'll understand why I feel that way, that it should be considered canon. It does a really good job of paying homage to The Original Series. And just what was so very interesting about what they did They took a lot of familiar episodes from the original series. You know, one of my favorite, we get to find out what happened to the Greek god Apollo, and I just thought they did an awesome job. The actor who plays Captain Kirk, Vic Mignogna, I believe his name is pronounced, Uh, he just gives this very eerie, uh, almost perfect, uh, portrayal of Captain Kirk. He has the mannerisms down, he has the look down, and, uh, just, um, just, uh, I, I can't put into words how great I thought, uh, he did as Captain Kirk. Uh, I've never seen anybody do Captain Kirk quite that well. Guys, I'd love to know your opinions about Star Trek Continues. There have already been some reviews done on it. You know, it has been out for years now. I wasn't even on YouTube, so I'm not gonna bother to do a review on the series because it's been out a while now. A lot of people have done great reviews on the show, but I just wanted to give my, you know, quick opinion that I thought definitely it should be considered part of Star Trek canon. If you have seen the series, please comment, let me know if you agree that, you know, this should be considered part of the real deal. I would really like to see them do some more episodes with this series, but it was done by a nonprofit organization, and, you know, basically I believe it was Kickstarter funded. And, you know, just awesome. You know, if they ever did a TV series, like we know we have Discovery, Star Trek Discovery coming up, and it's gonna basically cover 10 years before Captain Kirk. But if they ever wanted to kind of bring back the original series this would be the perfect way to do it with an actor like Vic Mignogna. We know the original series only went about 3 seasons, and so a lot of us who loved that original series were kind of forced to watch, you know, the old episodes. But this revisits a lot of those original series episodes lets us know what happened to some of those original characters, you know, after we— after they were left off. And I just thought they did an awesome job. I wish there were more episodes. I wish this could have went, you know, several seasons. But anyway, guys, give me your thoughts and views on it. If you'd like to see some more Star Trek Continues, This character actually plays a Vulcan in the Star Trek Continues, and you know, obviously he was in the J.J. Abrams reboot. But anyway guys, if you like these type of videos, don't forget to like and subscribe. And until next time guys, take care.
