Star Trek Discovery - Starship Mandela Effect?

The creator used to think the Starship Discovery looked ugly, but now finds it beautiful. He wonders if the Mandela Effect—collective false memories attributed to parallel universes—explains why his opinion shifted, or if he's just seen more of the ship. He asks viewers if they've had the same change of heart.

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. And is it me, guys, or does Starship Discovery all of a sudden look a great deal better? I'm really starting to like the look of this ship, which is pretty odd because, you know, as I recall, when it first came out, I just thought it was hideous. I did make a video saying that I thought the ship was structurally sound more so than some of the other Federation starships I saw, but I just never really liked the design so much. But it's really starting to grow on me. And so it's seemingly that this is happening to a lot of other Trekkies and people who are interested in Star Trek as well. And so that just kind of put this weird idea in my head that, uh, is the Mandela Effect alive in this situation? You know, for those of you who are, you know, not familiar with the Mandela Effect, it's actually a theory based on Nelson Mandela, who was the president of South Africa, who was believed to be dead for many years and was actually very much alive. He had been in prison, but people actually remember his funeral and him being buried. There was a lot of people, and that wasn't the case at all. He was very much alive. He is dead now, but the theory is based on false memories, you know, being in people's heads, and it's generally a large group of people people who have changed. And one theory about it is that it's due to the overlapping of parallel universes. So I know a lot of you go, well, this is pretty far-fetched. You know, maybe they just changed their minds. Maybe they saw more of the ship, something like that. I don't know, but I know for me, I thought I saw as much of the ship as I needed to see. but all of a sudden my mind's just moved towards, "It's a good-looking ship," and I find that quite odd. You know, you think about the Star Trek: The Original Series, the Mirror, Mirror episode, or if you just think about the theory behind parallel universes, which is basically every decision you make in a parallel universe, there would be someone who's making someone just like you or another version of you making the direct opposite decision. Like if you chose to go right, maybe another version of you chose to go left. If you chose to like the Starship Discovery, maybe another version of you someplace else chose not to. But in the case where the parallel realities or universes overlap, then you start to take on, uh, the memories of another. Um, so is that what happened, guys, in this situation? Or am I just out of the blue starting to dig this design as well as a lot of other Trekkies? Uh, maybe that's the case. Maybe I'm just yanking you guys' chains. Uh, but anyway, whatever this— whatever it is, guys, comment. Let me know if you have kind of all of a sudden changed your mind about the Starship Discovery, if it looks a little bit better than it looked originally when you first saw it. And don't forget to like and subscribe, guys. Till next time, take care.
