In this YouTube video, the host presents a fan theory about the meaning of the Episode VIII title "The Last Jedi." He argues that the title most likely refers to Luke Skywalker as the final Jedi, drawing parallels between Episode VII (The Force Awakens) and the original trilogy, especially Return of the Jedi, which centered on Luke. The speaker suggests that Luke will die without passing on a formal Jedi Order, implying the Jedi Order will effectively end rather than be rebuilt, though Force‑sensitive individuals will continue to exist. He also notes a possible double meaning: Luke as the last Jedi ever, and the Jedi Order’s eventual dissolution. The video briefly explores religious influences on Star Wars, mentioning Buddhism and, more prominently, Zoroastrianism—highlighting its light/dark dualism and the concept of balance, which the speaker likens to the Force and the Jedi’s fate. Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. And we finally get the title of Star Wars Episode 8, The Last Jedi. So guys, many are trying to figure out what the title means and whom it refers to. So I have a theory on who exactly the Last Jedi may be. Now we know that Jedi's plural form is also Jedi. So Jedi could refer to a group of people or just one. However, I found there are many seemingly cyclical events in the Star Wars story. You know, there's a lot of similarities between The Force Awakens and the original Star Wars, or Episode IV and Episode VII. So we know we had Return of the Jedi back in 1984, and it literally was speaking about a particular Jedi who was Luke Skywalker. And, you know, so basically I think that this is going to be the same thing. It's going to match the, from 1984, the original Return of the Jedi. I don't think there's going to be any complex interpretation to the meaning of The Last Jedi. I I think it's going to be pretty straightforward at this point, and it will be talking about Luke Skywalker. So Luke is the last remaining Jedi, and we are aware that there are Force-sensitive people, but none are trained in the way of the Jedi. And so some people are theorizing that, hey, well, Luke Skywalker will probably train Rey, and then he'll die. And maybe she'll be the last Jedi, but I don't think it's gonna go that way. I think what's gonna happen is I think Luke may die, but I don't think he's gonna pass on the training of the Jedi Order to any other person. And I'm basing that on how we find him at the end of Episode 7. I think he's found that starting the Jedi Academy and trying to train people in the Jedi Order has created more problems than solutions, and I don't think Luke is gonna want to repeat that process again. And, you know, although the Force will continue, it will still be in individuals, and it will remain in all living things. There will be people who are gifted in the Force. That will continue, so we'll still have people who can use the Force. I just don't think the Jedi Order will remain. So in that regard, I think it's, um, kind of a double meaning, you know. You know, if anything, it's complex. I think it's a double meaning in that Luke will be the last Jedi ever. Something else I found kind of interesting about Star Wars is that some believe that it's greatly inspired by Buddhism to a degree, but also I think more directly inspired by a religion we don't hear much about these days. I don't think it's about— it's only about maybe 200,000 people of this religion left in the world, and the religion was called Zoroastrianism, and it focuses a lot on the light and the dark, positive and negative, balance, similar to the idea of bringing balance to the Force. However, much like Zoroastrianism, I think the Jedi Order will pretty much fizzle out or come to a to an end. So that's my theory, guys, on what the title means. Anyway, feel free to comment, let us know what you think the title means, and may the Force be with you. I hope it tells you to like and subscribe. Okay, take care, guys.
