Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we want to talk about bots, voting bots, upvoting bots, various systems that are being used on Steemit in order to help maximize efficiency of curating, maximize the effectiveness of people who come on the site, new people who maybe in the beginning, you know, have a difficult time navigating Steemit, trying to get their footing, trying to get their content out. And so one thing that I've seen done a lot here on Steemit is upvoting booster sites. Sites that help to boost your polls, to help you get upvotes, various things like that. And there are many reasons for these bots. I mean, you know, when you're using a site like Steemit, you're busy creating polls and maybe you want to curate, do various things. There is only one of you that And we found that technology applications can help assist us in locating good posts, trying to upvote them, helping to distribute quality content around the Steemit network. And so many people have chosen to use bots. So today I wanna talk about some of the bots a bot in particular that I decided to use. Not the only bot I've used, but, uh, one that I want to bring attention to because I think it's great for beginners on the Steemit network, and it's called Shadowbot, and it's in beta right now. Tried this last week, wanted to see what would happen with this. Um, You know, I noticed my posts, not only did I start to get a lot of votes, go from like, you know, 2, 3, 4 votes to like 50 votes, but I noticed also that my, the money that I was making on my posts were going up. And as I looked more into the system, I talked to the creator of the system, tried to get as much information as I could. I was very impressed with a lot of information he told me. So what I'm going to do, guys, in this video, uh, I'm gonna talk specifically about what ShadowBot is, why I think it's great for not only beginners but people who are using the Steemit network who just might need an extra boost or just like these type of mining pools to help distribute, uh, you you know, around the Steemit network. So what I'm gonna do, go over here to the frequently asked questions section so we can tackle the important questions regarding Shadow Bot, and some of which, or some of the reason why I think Shadow Bot is a great bot to use. So let's first start with the obvious question. What is ShadowBot? ShadowBot is a Steemit bot that automates many of the actions on your account for managing, upvoting the best content, automatically following back users that follow you, as well as providing insight into the performance of your account. And right there, guys, we can see that's, um, uh, doing a lot of good things that, uh, or it has a lot of features that we, a lot of Steemit users, would be interested in. And as I talked to the creator of this bot, I also got to learn that he has a plan to create even more, uh, useful features as he's working on the bot. So, uh, was very impressed with what I heard, like the immediate results. Also, the bot is free of use. And I just want to say, guys, that, um, With this whole bot thing, um, you know, I would have thought maybe at first this wasn't a legal thing, um, you know, but Steemit, as of the time of making this video, bots on Steemit are very legal, legal and helpful, um, you know, in many ways. And so, uh, this is all completely legit and legal so far as the time of this video. I like it so far. It's really helping me. I invite you all to try it out. It doesn't cost you anything, and I think it's going to be great for you. But let's continue on getting more information about, uh, ShadowBot. So let's, let's, let's, let's go to this, you know, is ShadowBot safe? You know, because I think this is a big question, especially for new users. ShadowBot only needs your posting private key which is stored in an encrypted wallet. Your posting key only allows voting, following, and posting on behalf of your account. Shadow Bot has no access to any of your funds attached to your Steemit account. And that's very important as well, guys, because, you know, that's one big concern, or what was always a big concern for me with using these bots. I thought Maybe if I use the bot, people would be able to somehow steal my funds or take control of my account and various things like that. But these are just posting keys you're using. This isn't your master key to your, of your password of your account. And that's the only thing it does. So you're in no danger of your account being taken over or anything like that. So let's find out. What a shadowcaster is. You know, what, you know, what's with this terminology? What exactly is a shadowcaster on ShadowBot? Shadowcasters are members of the ShadowBot shadow pool. By being part of the ShadowBot, you are a shadowcaster and part of the shadow pool. Okay, so, and what is the shadow pool? So let's find out what the shadow pool is. So We know exactly what we're talking about here. The shadow pool is a shadow rank weighted queue of posts you and other shadowcasters have authored that all other shadowcasters potentially will upvote. So it's like a mining pool, guys. You're all in this pool. You're all voting on quality content within this pool. And works quite well. If you kind of think about applications like Steam Voter, bots like that where people put people in their Steam Voter and they vote on those people and various things like that, and it's automatically done. This within your pool votes up people in the shadow pool. What is shadow rank? You know, this is something else that's used here on ShadowBot service. Shadow rank is a great way to see how you are adding value to the Steemit community. As you author high-value posts, your shadow rank will go up. Likewise, if you author countless spam posts that yield no value, you will see your shadow rank fall. Shadow rank goes from 1% to 100%. New accounts start at 10%. Your shadow rank determines how much of a total 2% voting power upvote other shadowcasters will delegate to your polls. So this is very important, guys, and I think this answers one of my main concerns with using a bot, and that is, is the content going to be quality? And as we can see here, there is this program, this algorithm that delegates more of the mining pool to quality posts. So that answers a lot of our questions about, is this going to be, uh, upvoting quality content? And not just, uh, distributing across the Steemit network like we've seen some bots and some programs do, where people just kind of vote on people who maybe they like, or maybe they're who are their friend. And, uh, I mean, it's your right to vote on whomever you wish, but, you know, for the overall quality of the network, of the platform, we definitely want good quality posts to add value to the Steemit network. So does my Steem Power influence my Shadow Rank? Yes, but your Steem Power is only one of many factors that decide your Shadow Rank. And this is important as well, guys, because we know, especially being new on Steemit, very little Steem Power that it's very hard to have any kind of influence anyplace. So this gives you the opportunity to not only get your posts upvoted that are good, although you have low Steam Power, but to be influential to the system without having tons of Steam Power. So I think that will work very well for new users, keep them interested, keep them using the Steemit platform. Can I still upvote posts and comments on Steemit? Yes, but the more you allow ShadowBot to upvote from Shadow Pool, the more you will see your shadow rank increase. So this is as well important, guys, to boost your shadow rank so you will get more upvotes within the pool. And, uh, you know, as we, we all probably well know, or if you're new, you're probably finding out that the more you upvote, the less Steam Power you have and the less voting strength you're able to yield. So the less you vote and allow Shadow Bots to vote for you, quality content to distribute across the network, the more you do that, the more your Shadow Rank is going to increase and the more, uh, you'll get kickbacks, uh, upvotes and, uh, influence on Shadow Bots. How is Shadow Rank calculated? Shadow Rank is calculated based on a weighted average of your most recent author performance, your downvotes in the previous week, your current Steam Power, and how often you allow Shadowbot to vote on your behalf by minimizing or eliminating your own manually upvoted voting behavior? So, you know, again, similar to the, the last question, it's talking about how your shadow rank is calculated, how you increase it. And obviously, if you're allowing Shadowbot to more so vote on quality content than you manually upvoting, your rank is going to increase. How often is my shadow rank calculated? Shadow Bot recalculates shadow rank for each shadow caster every midnight at 12 AM Eastern. And so every night at 12 AM, you will be able to have your rank recalculated. And so that way, if you are, you know, as you're your influence increases across the ShadowBot network. You will, you know, have that available. How does ShadowBot decide what to vote on? ShadowBot works on a pool mentality. Every shadowcaster is given a position in the shadow pool prioritized by their shadow rank. Authoring high-value posts will increase your your shadow rank, leading to— leading you to see more of your posts receiving priority in the shadow pool. So again, going back to the quality of the content, Shadowbot is not about just trying to upvote this person or that person. This is an algorithm that is calculating, uh, the best performing posts. So in that regard, there's going to be quality across the network. How often does Shadow Bot vote for me? Shadow Bot is designed to maximize your voting power each day utilizing the shadow pool. Shadow Bot will only vote when your voting power reaches 100% and will continue to vote until your voting power reaches 98%. Shadow Bot will not place any votes on your behalf unless your voting power is at 100%, thus maximizing your earning potential each day. And that's important, guys, because You know, this may lead one to wonder, if I'm allowing Shadow Bot to vote for me, what happens if it just drains me of all my steam power? Well, that won't happen because Shadow Bot will vote when you're fully charged down to 98%. How fast does voting power recharge? Your voting power recharges at a rate of 0.0000228898% per second, or about 20% per 24-hour period. Shadow Bot uses this trickle recharge feature to spread your voting out over each day to maximize your voting power to votes per day. And so this is how long it takes to recharge. Very similar, uh, pretty much, you know, like your normal upvoting process to recharge. Does Shadow Bot take payment for my votes? Absolutely not. The concept of Shadow Bot is to develop a shadow pool filled with shadow casters and good authors that that contribute to the Steemit community. Any solicitations for voting by shadow bot will be ignored. I think this is very important as well, guys. I think this will also attract a lot of users that our focus is good quality content, not commerce of votes. Shadowbot is focusing on quality content. Why does Shadowbot not show my voting history? Shadowbot only displays information related to activity Shadowbot performs on your account. As we expand the capabilities of Shadowbot, we may include this feature, but for now, This is not a priority for Shadowbots. Okay, so basically as to say, Shadowbot at this point in time is focused, um, pretty much on not showing every vote that's been cast at this particular time, but focusing more on the effect— the effectiveness and the efficiency of your upvoting. Power. Now, as I did speak to the creator of ShadowBot, uh, specifically about some future plans of the bot and what's going to be happening, uh, and some of, you know, his endeavors, he has made it clear to me that they are working on a great deal more features. And so I'm excited to see what he comes up with. So far, I am very impressed with ShadowBot. What is auto followback? Auto followback is a Shadowbot feature that will automatically follow back any user on Steemit that follows your account. This is a great way to build a network of people that actually want to see what you are posting. You will need to enable this feature Since by default auto follow back is turned off. I also think that's very important to you guys because, uh, this is a feature you can enable or disable. So if you're the type of person who you only want followers, um, you know, uh, you don't— or rather, you don't want to follow your followers back, then you don't have to do that. You can turn off this feature. But if Uh, you're the type of person you're interested in what your followers are doing, and as they follow you, you want to follow them back, then this is a cool feature that allows you to follow them back, and you can as well see what they're doing, and you all can share. Um, does ShadowBot manage claiming my rewards? Yes, ShadowBot automatically claims any outstanding rewards you have earned without you having to do anything. You cannot turn this feature off, but why would you really want to? Good point. So Shadow Bot takes care of that extra labor. It's going to claim that for you. As I've used the bot, it's done it. I've seen no problems with getting all of my rewards. I think it works awesome. And, uh, it's just been fantastic to use, guys. Guys, I want to share that with you about ShadowBot. Make sure you join ShadowBot today. I'm going to use a link. I'm going to leave a link in the description. You definitely want to join ShadowBot. Uh, ShadowBot's gonna help to maximize the curation process, the distribution across the Steemit platform on quality content that we need so desperately, so we do not become victims to nepotism where our voting on good quality content may be blinded, if that's what we're aiming to do. You know, you know, as I said before, your upvote is your upvote. But if you really want to help to make this platform quality value-wise, which I don't understand why you wouldn't because you're probably already using it, invested in it, your money, time, or content, then you want to use something like Shadowbot to make sure everybody's great value content is properly rewarded, displayed, and the overall Steemit family fares well. Guys, that's it for my talk to you about this great Shadowbot or this great bot on Steemit. Guys, if you like content like this, Don't forget to like and subscribe. Don't forget to sign up for ShadowBot. And until next time, guys, take care.
