Steemit - Chatrooms That Pay!

Mango Steam is an alpha chat app built on Steemit where your comments earn cryptocurrency when others upvote them. The presenter earned real money from upvoted messages and sees it as the next step in social media monetization, though the service currently has a 20-second posting delay.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we want to talk about, uh, chat in on Steemit platform or built, uh, on top of the Steemit platform. And, uh, there are several chat rooms that have been established that relate to Steemit, but As of late, we've had a unique one that does something the other chat rooms don't seem to do, and that is it's found a very interesting way to monetize the chat experience, and it's called Mango Steam. I believe it's in alpha at the moment, but, um, As far as the concept goes, very impressed so far with, um, you know, what we're getting, uh, with Mango Steam. As I understand it, the creator is going to be creating, uh, quite a bit more features to go with this. But, um, you know, basically, generally during your chat experience, there is a upvote button in which you can actually upvote comments. And these comments get fed into the, actually, your comment section on the Steemit.com website. And very interesting, at that point people can upvote your comments, they can do it directly from the chat area, chat room. Um, one thing I found interesting about Mango Steam is that it does, um, have this delay that, uh, you know, when you're commenting, it's about 20 seconds, it looks like. And that could be quite inconvenient if you like to chat. I don't know if that will be improved in the future, but so far I like the, the concept of Mango Steam. I think it's important that development continues along the Steam Network, that innovation, you know, continues, and that we do find, you know, more ways to you know, make it more appealing to people using the site. And so of course developments like this is gonna always add to the value of Steemit. You know, in the idea, the question, or concept of, you know, should one be monetizing site, or rather monetizing the chat function? Well, I think there's been a a, uh, you know, it's been going around quite a bit of time now, uh, with various websites about ways to not only monetize social media but to monetize chat functions. And until the cryptocurrencies, you know, become available, never quite seen it be able to be done to this degree. But, um, Several chat rooms I've been in over the years online, I've seen where advertisers are actually advertising on top of chat room spaces because people are within these chat rooms. So my thoughts would be, as long as there exists an opportunity to monetize anything online because you have eyes there, you have people there, that I think that is always going to be reasonable to find a way to get money back to the users of the platform who are actually adding value to the chat experience, adding value, you know, to, you know, various online websites. It's pretty much the same argument concept as social media is, so I don't see why a chat platform should be any different. Mango Steam has found a way to monetize it to give money back to the people. So, you know, good, good deal. Good job on Mango Steam Chat. You know, so I definitely would recommend at least trying it out, you know, seeing how you like it, getting to know the community. You might make a few bucks. You know, I made some money when I first logged in and got going. People voted up a few of the comments. You know, never before in a chat situation had I earned anything, so I think that's a pretty good start. So guys, check out Mango Steam. We're just looking for other ways to meet the community, get paid at the same time. Check out Mango Steam. You'll probably see me over there. Be sure to drop in, say hello. Guys, if you like content like this, don't forget to like, subscribe, and until next time, take care.
