In this informal tutorial, the presenter explains the serious consequences of losing a Steemit password, emphasizing that the blockchain does not store or recover passwords. He then offers a practical solution: checking the browser’s saved password manager (demonstrated with Google Chrome) to retrieve the stored Steemit password. Step‑by‑step instructions are given for navigating Chrome’s Settings → Advanced → Manage Passwords, locating the Steemit entry, and revealing the password. The video also stresses the importance of backing up passwords securely after recovery and includes a brief call to action encouraging viewers to like, subscribe, and share the video.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we'll talk about, you know, what happens if the most dreadful thing happens and you lose your Steemit password. Now one of the main things that Steemit pushes is when you register an account that you back up your password, that you put it somewhere safe, and that you never ever lose your password. But the reality of it is people lose any and everything. So, you know, as people have lost their passwords to get into their Steemit accounts, some with thousands of dollars in it. And, you know, unfortunately, when you're dealing with technology on the blockchain and various things like that, if you lose your password in cryptocurrency, that generally means you're basically out of luck. So it's not much that can be done. The network doesn't hold your password. Nobody holds your password or has access to your password but you. So in a case like like that, uh, you know, we're basically up the creek without a paddle. So today, let's try to figure out the things we can do, uh, you know, in order to maybe perhaps, uh, get lucky, still be able to recover our password, and, uh, you know, go on without our day being ruined. So one idea, uh, that I found online and that some people have used effectively— I've tested it myself and it works quite well— is to look up if you— password. And you know, most website browsers, they have like a, you know, an auto-saver. And I know a lot of people say that's not, you know, that's not good, it's not safe to use this feature to auto-save your passwords on your websites, and they're absolutely correct in that. But when you're dealing with long passwords like the type you get on Steemit, it's very likely that you're probably— in every case, you're not going to be typing that password out. And the saved passwords on your browsers like Google Chrome, etc., they have a, you know, a function where you can basically show your password so you can see your password and you'll be able to re-enter it and get into your account. So the way that's done is the instructions are you basically go to the settings menu in your Chrome browser at the top And then you go to the very bottom, click Advanced. Bottom again, click Manage Passwords. And once you do that, it should bring you into the tab that shows every site that you log into. And, you know, basically, you know, enter your password in. These are the instructions here. Here on the screen, and you can find it in your Chrome browser again by going to Settings, Advanced, at the bottom, go to the bottom again, Manage Passwords, everything at the bottom. And once you click that Manage tab again, um, and I'm using Chrome, but most websites are going to have a function like this, browser's going to have a function like this to some degree. So you want to check that first and check and see if just by chance you're lucky enough to find your password there. So guys, try that first. I hope that helps if you found yourself in this unfortunate situation. Uh, guys, if you like videos like this, if you found it useful, do me that great favor of upvoting this video, uh, and re-steam it so other people can see it who may have this problem or maybe can't remember what their password is. But they yet can still log into their account, they can at this time use this feature, copy their password down at this time, which is what I had to do, save their password, put it somewhere safe, never lose it again.
