Steemit - Version Of Quora

In this video the presenter introduces Musing, a Steemit‑based question‑and‑answer application that functions as a blockchain‑powered alternative to sites like Quora. He explains how Musing leverages STEEM tokens to reward answerers, arguing that this creates an incentive for thorough, high‑quality responses. The host highlights that Musing lowers the barrier for users who are not seasoned bloggers, allowing them to earn tokens simply by answering questions, which is especially appealing to time‑pressed users. He then discusses the main drawback: every Musing post is published to the user’s Steemit blog feed rather than the comment section, making the feed appear spammy and potentially turning off followers. The speaker acknowledges this issue but emphasizes the overall value of concise, incentivized Q&A over lengthy blog posts. He concludes by encouraging viewers to try Musing, follow his activity there, and engage with the platform despite the spam concerns.

Hey you, welcome back to the channel. And guys, today we want to talk about Steemit's version of Quora. And if you don't know what Quora is, Quora is this question and answer site where valuable information can be relayed through people posting questions and, and then answers being posted. We've seen these type sites throughout our odyssey on the internet. One big one was like Yahoo Answers. It's been like Ask Jeeves, you know, various things. And obviously such sites are valuable. Now we have our own version here built on the Steemit blockchain, Musing. And I could tell you right off, I fell in love with Musing. I just started using it yesterday. I don't— I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's only launched a couple of days ago. But I immediately saw the value in this project. And, you know, I can see a lot of potential with this and a lot of uses for it, you know, obviously. And, you know, what's a little bit more significant to musing is that unlike other sites that do this, Musing uses the blockchain tokens, uses the STEAM to compensate people for their answers. So you're incentivized to give a more thorough, complete, detailed answer that could be useful for someone, right? And obviously there is a great deal of value in that. So I'm really loving this site. Also, if you're a person who started off on Steemit.com, you probably already know that Steemit.com is more or less a blogging site, right? It's been compared to Reddit, but, you know, in, you know, with the, with the blog posts and articles and various things like that. But When you're writing blogs and you're writing quality content online and you're being compensated for it, you know, it's gonna require that you are, to really be a, do well on Steemit, it's gonna require that you are an excellent writer. If you write books or novels or if you've written professional articles, obviously Steemit will work out very well for you. But if you're like the rest of us who aren't excellent bloggers, or maybe never was a blogger but you are interested in social media, or maybe you're a smart cookie in one area or another like many of us, you know, tend to be, then Musing is going to be awesome for you. It's going to be a great site for you because you can come in, you can answer questions, and be compensated for it with these, with the Steam tokens, right? And like I said, I'm addicted to Musing. Now there are some drawbacks, unfortunately, to Musing, much like we discovered many drawbacks when we joined Steam. It's that, hey, maybe Steam is not as easy as we thought it was. Maybe I'm not as good of a writer as I think I am. And when I'm writing, maybe spending weeks on content and it's not being noticed and various things like that. So it's a lot of investment time going into statement for some. Now with Quora, you can relay over very valuable information to someone, um, and you don't have to do all this blog writing yet. At the same time, this content still be of value, right? So you might answer a question, a few paragraphs that is, uh, very valuable to someone, and it hasn't taken you all week, hasn't taken you all day, uh, you haven't invested your entire life in, in, into writing a blog, right? So that's what I like about Musen. But let's talk about some of the drawbacks. We've discussed the pros. Let's look at some of the cons. What are the cons? The cons are something that happens similar to projects and applications built on the Steemit blockchain, and that is everything feeds back to Steemit.com. That's a problem people have been trying to solve, and I'm not sure if how they're going to solve that. But the issue is, if you're like me who thinks they're a know-it-all, who loves to answer questions, who loves to be helpful, and who loves to gather information and share information and ask questions and answer questions, then, you know, it won't be long before if you've asked several questions that is just filling up your Steemit feed. Right? So it can look spammy, it can look like spam, and this could be a great turnoff to many of your followers on Steemit. What do you do about that? I don't know. And this— Musing is kind of worse when it comes to this, more so than other apps, because it's feeding into your blog post and not your comment section. There was a similar application that dealt with chat rooms where You can chat with people and maybe some of the information or the conversation you had, someone enjoyed and they could tip or upvote you and it would all just feed into your comment section. So you just have tons and tons of all this dialogue in your comment section. And obviously that's problematic. But this is even worse in that it's gonna feed into your blogs, right? So, you know, right off because I'm addicted to Muzing already, I do apologize for my followers, all nearly 3,000 of them, that you're gonna see a lot of questions and answers from Muzing going to my blog section. And I can only hope you all understand that and appreciate the pros that go along with Muzing, that this is a great application on Steam. And I think, in my opinion, it might be the best and most useful. And I say that because trying Trying to digest several pages of blogs and articles is not only very time-consuming for me, but it's very difficult for me to rate it as a great post other than acknowledging the time and effort put into the post by the writer, right? And, you know, obviously it might be some value in that amount of attention and hard work they put into that article, but that article may be of very little value to me. And so very hard to rate those kind of blogs. And, but whereas you're dealing with questions and answers, a lot easier to get a whirl of information from questions and answers with not relaying pages of information, which I think is awesome. It's going to be awesome for a lot of people who are using Steemit applications, going to be very, you know, great for people who uh, are time-pressed like myself and many others. And so, uh, you know, in that respect, this is going to be very useful to them. But at the same time, it's going to, uh, uh, relay quality of information as you're being incentivized by the questions you give, right? You're being incentivized by the quality of information you give. So you're not just, you know, throwing stuff up on the screen And you're addressing specifically a need to a question and things of that nature. So I really like this application. This is great, guys. Let me know if you see a great value in this. I know some people are still complaining about the spammy posts and, you know, the spammy type feature of it. Going into your blog posts and things like that. I quite understand that, but I hope y'all can appreciate the tremendous value as well that this is handing over and have some understanding of that as well. But guys, that's all I want to say about this. Make sure if you come over there, I'm always on Musing. Follow me. Hopefully you can get some great answers or some great questions to think about as I am a know-it-all, and we'll get to find out if I am or not. But anyway, guys, just wanted to talk about— bring that to your attention. Musing, guys, you like content like this, don't forget to like, subscribe, and until next time, take care.
