Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11 Martian Chronicles Review

In this YouTube review, the host walks through Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11, “The Martian Chronicles,” summarizing the episode’s multiple intersecting storylines. The episode opens with Miss Martian (M'gann) sensing a stalker at an alien bar, which turns out to be John (Martian Manhunter). They confront a White Martian, and M'gann refuses to involve others, fearing danger. The plot then shifts to Kara (Supergirl) and Mon‑El at the same bar, where Kara tells Mon‑El she doesn’t like him, leaving him dejected. M'gann later discovers her husband, a White Martian, intends to take her back to Mars and will burn the city if needed. Meanwhile, Kara’s friendship with Alex is strained as Alex spends time with Maggie, who has concert tickets, while Kara feels left out on the anniversary of her arrival on Earth. The DEO brings M'gann into their fold; John and the team devise a Martian‑origin test (hand‑flame skin‑peel) to expose shape‑shifting White Martians hidden among the staff. The test reveals that DEO agent Winn is a White Martian, and later Alex is uncovered as the second White Martian. A battle ensues, with John, M'gann, and Supergirl fighting the impostors. After the fight, John confesses romantic feelings for M'gann, who decides to return to Mars to help her people, despite John’s concerns for her safety. Kara finally confesses her feelings to Alex, who reciprocates, but Alex hints Kara’s unresolved feelings for Mon‑El. Kara discovers Mon‑El has moved on with a CatCo assistant, leaving her heartbroken. The reviewer praises the Martian‑focused storyline, finds the episode strong overall, and ends with a typical YouTube sign‑off encouraging likes and subscriptions.

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel, and today we will be reviewing Supergirl Season 2 Episode 11, The Martian Chronicles. So we open up with this week's episode and, uh, we get the scene of Morgan, I believe her name's pronounced, or Miss Martian and she's at work in the kind of alien hangout bar slash bar thing they have going. And it's a scene where she's, she's taking out the garbage and she can kind of sense with her psychic abilities of someone who's been following her all week long. And I'm immediately, uh, thinking back to last week's episode and I'm going, hey, you know, it's probably the white Martians. You know, and so she tells him to come out. You see this weird-looking old man who steps out from behind a dumpster or some garbage, and it shifts into John, the Martian Manhunter. And so, you know, he's basically letting her know, you know, what I was thinking, and you know, from where the show left off with last week, that, you know, hey, you know, aren't you worried about the White Martians coming for you after, you know, what happened. And so, uh, you know, she's basically, you know, letting John know she doesn't want anybody to get involved, that, you know, she doesn't want to bring danger on anybody, and she wants to take care of the matter herself. And, um, you know, all of a sudden we get, um, one of the White Martians shows up, and it's a fight that goes on between the White Martian and both, um, John and Miss Martian, and she joins in, and they're able to beat back the White Martian temporarily. But then again, you know, we get Miss Martian, and she's basically, uh, you know, still not wanting to expose, um, John and the rest of the team to danger. But, you know, John lets her know that, hey, you know, we want to help you, you're considered a friend of ours. And so she's, uh, you know, still pretty much concerned you know, about their danger and well-being and doesn't want to, you know, cause them, you know, any, any problems. And then we cut to basically, um, the next scene, and we get, uh, Kara and Mon-El. And Kara's visiting, um, Mon-El at the, at the bar. He's actually working at the, at the bar where the aliens— he works, actually works at bar that, um, um, Miss Martian works at. And, uh, Cara has a conversation with Manel, you know, after their awkward situation from last week, and she basically lets him know she doesn't like him, you know. And so, well, that doesn't make Manel feel too great. Um, we then move on to, uh, Miss Martian again, and she gets an interesting visit to the bar, and it appears to be someone she knows from her past, and he's speaking this alien language. And you know, it's not long until we find out he's actually the white Martian that they were fighting. And you know, we also find out something else that's very interesting, and that's He is Miss Martian's husband who's come to take her back to Mars to stand trial for what she's done, uh, to her people to help the Green Martians. And he's letting her know he's gonna burn the whole city if necessary down, uh, hurt whoever he needs to, but he will be taking her back to, um, back to Mars. We cut and we get Kara and Alex. And Alex, Alex and her relationship with Maggie seems to be progressing quite well. Um, Maggie's got her, um, tickets to a concert, but Kara doesn't know this. And Kara is, uh, actually, uh, it's Kara's, um, anniversary to arriving on Earth. So it's like her, you know, like a birthday anniversary type thing. And, um, so she wants, you know, to hang out with Alex, but, you know, now she's kind of feeling out of place in that, uh, Alex is now, you know, greatly preoccupied these days with Maggie. And so, uh, you know, uh, Maggie actually gets her tickets to the Barenaked Ladies concert, a band I remember. I think I can remember a few songs from them some years back, uh, and I find that kind of interesting. I'm trying to remember, did other superhero shows ever reference real-life bands? And I think Smallville did. I think Smallville actually did that. Just something came to mind when they was, you know, that these bands exist in their world, in the universe, um, But, uh, you know, so Kara was, you know, basically letting Alex know, oh, it's okay, go with Maggie. But, you know, she's really kind of down. She really wanted to hang out with her sister on her, you know, anniversary of arriving to Earth like they always used to do. So, you know, it's kind of downer for Kara in that, you know, in that regard. Uh, so, you know, in our next scene, we get, um Miss Martian, or Morganne, and, um, Meganne. And she's come down to the DEO. She's decided to accept, uh, John's offer, you know, to work with them and, and try to fight together. And but Morganne also informs the team that, hey, you know, uh, the Martians that are here to take me back, uh, one is my husband. And, um, you know, he, you know, um, I'm basically putting you all in, in danger. But John lets her know it doesn't matter who he is, their job is to protect the Earth from aliens, uh, that come there meaning harm. And so, uh, interesting enough, we find that, uh, due to the ability to shape-shift, you know, after the, uh, the systems are taken over by someone, uh, they become aware that the White Martians are already there in the facility. And because they can shapeshift, they could be any one of them. And so they come up with this test. There's a lot of mystery surrounding who's the White Martian and who's— because also White Martians, like Green Martians, they can read minds. So Uh, they can take on all the personality and characteristics of the person as well as know everything they know. So you can't ask questions to try to figure out who's who. They have all the memories and thoughts of the people who, who they've, you know, through a psychic link, assumed their identity. And And so, um, John comes up with a test, and it's a test they used to do on Mars in the, uh, when they were back on Mars in the camps and they were fighting against the white Martians. And it involves something like holding your hand to this type of flame, and it makes the shape-shifting skin peel back, and you can see the true, you know, uh, body of the true hand of the White Martians. And both, it works actually for the Green Martians as well, because when John does it, you can see his hand is green. But so they're still trying to figure out who's the White Martians, and there were two. There were two White Martians there who took over 2 of the, of the, uh, uh, people, but they were unaware. They were unaware of it. So, so we get this scene, we get the scene where, uh, basically, uh, we get the scene where basically, uh, John is conducting the test and Wynn doesn't want to go through with the test. You know, Wynn's basically You know, trying to stall. And so, you know, after a while, you know, Wind starts just kicking everybody's butt. So, you know, we find that it's Wind, you know, it's the white Martian posing as Wind. But it's just kind of funny because, um, you know, it's funny to see Wind just kicking everybody's butt and how it looks. And, uh, you know, but also because the Martian took over Wind's body, that explains as well how he was able to shut down the, uh, you know, control a lot of computers throughout the DEO and various things like that. So as they're looking for, uh, you know, the White Martian, uh, Kara and Alex are together. And, uh, you know, as they're looking, you know, Supergirl's finally starting to tell the truth to Alex that, you know, hey, you know, uh, I really wanted you to be with me on my anniversary, and I just didn't want to tell you that 'Yeah, I had a problem with you, you know, not, you know, coming around and going with Maggie instead.' And so after a while, the, you know, Alex, you know, starts telling Supergirl how pathetic she is, and she starts kicking her butt. And we find out that Alex is the second White Martian who's hiding there, you know, that they didn't— and Supergirl didn't know, because again, they have all of their memories and personality and things, you know. Like that. So, you know, they start fighting, and, you know, Supergirl is basically able to stop because they're two, one of the Martians. And then, you know, there's a good fight between John and the husband of, of M'gann, and they're all fighting And, you know, they prevail throughout the fight. You know, however, in the end we get this scene. I'm trying to get to my slides here. Let me go to another slide. But we get this scene with McGann and John. And, uh, you know, um, you know, John basically reveals, you know, to Megan that, you know, he's really into her and he wants a relationship with her, and she feels the same way. But she now has this new calling where she wants to return to Mars and help other people, other Martians that like her, that want to change from what they are And so, you know, John, you know, doesn't want to see her go, but he, you know, he, uh, you know, he thinks it's dangerous. She's going to get herself killed. But, you know, she decides that's something that she really wants to do. Um, and so we have the goodbyes between those two. We also move on to Supergirl, um, and Alex and Super, uh, Supergirl basically, uh, uh, you know, comes clean to Alex because when she came clean the first time, it wasn't really— it wasn't Alex, it was the White Martian. But Alex kind of knows that, uh, Supergirl or Kara, uh, she already knew how she felt in a sense, but also because she kind shared a link with the Martian. So when they link to each other, they both kind of can kind of share the thoughts of each other. So she kind of had the thoughts, you know, from the Martian when Supergirl spoke to the Martian. So she knew how Kara really felt. And so she explained, she, you know, comes with a cupcake and, you know, they celebrate and get their relationship back together. But then she, you know, informs Kara that, you know, maybe it really wasn't about her, maybe it was about her and Mon-El, and that she isn't expressing her true feelings about Mon-El. So Kara goes over to see Mon-El, but it's too late. Mon-El has, you know, moved on with, uh, one of the, uh, I believe it's one of the Uh, uh, ah, the, uh, assistant who works at Cat, Cat, uh, CatCo. You know, I think she, she works for the, the, uh, for, um, the newspaper. And I think her and Manel had had a thing before where she liked Manel, but this time Manel decided to move on as he didn't think Carla was, uh, you know, available. So, uh, you you know, Kara and Mon-El. They basically, um, you know, she's kind of missed that ship right now. She's feeling, you know, pretty, uh, pretty bad about it. And, uh, you know, that was pretty much this week's episode. I thought it was a real good episode. I, I always like the episodes which feature more with the Martian Manhunter, um, you know, in it. And, uh, so I, you know, I thought that was, you know, well done. But anyway, guys, I hope you as well have enjoyed this week's episode, and please don't forget to like and subscribe. And until next week, take care, guys.
