Hey guys, welcome back to the channel, and today we will review Supergirl Season 2, Episode 15, Exodus. And so guys, this episode is filled with, uh, iconic big guest stars from some of our favorite TV shows from the past. Uh, we got Terry Hatcher, who starred in Lois Clark, part of this episode. Uh, also who starred alongside Dean Cain, who we get returning in this, uh, week's episode as Jeremiah Danvers. And we get Kevin Sorbo, who many of us remember from Hercules: Legendary Journeys, one of my, one of my favorite shows. So I like this big list of guest stars, and I really enjoyed this episode. You know, as they're bringing in these guest stars, many of them who are paying homage to the Superman mythology and things like that. I hope they do one with Mr. Tom Welling, who we know played Clark Kent in Smallville. And finally, after 10 years, we get to see him, kind of glimpse a little bit of him in the Superman suit finally. And I really would love to see If they bring Tom on this show like they've done everyone else, if they bring Tom on here, I would really like to see them bring him on as Superman. And I know many are going, well, how in the world would they do that? But remember, this Supergirl exists in, I believe, what they call Earth-3. And so, you know, Uh, just make Tom be Superman from another Earth, you know, Earth 4, whatever you want to call it, and have him be a pure— a parallel universe Superman. I would love that, where Smallville really exists. And then go ahead and bring in Lex Luthor, played by Michael Rosenbaum. You guys would really make my day. But you know, these guys are all part of the same network, the same writers who do Supergirl. You know, they've done, you know, all these various, you know, stories, these superhero stories. So I think that would be awesome. But let's get into what happened on Supergirl. Let's just forget about my fantasy right now and let's deal with this week's episode of Supergirl. So we get the return of You know, Cadmus has come back. Uh, we get to find out what they've— what they're doing with that registry they went through so much trouble to get access to. And you know, we just get this funny— which I thought, I thought it was funny— we get this, you know, these scenes where they're, um, this cop, this one cop, he, he keeps pulling, you know, people over and He's talking about, "Well, you know, I pulled you over because you got a broken taillight and tape can fix it." And, you know, for some reason I just found that funny. But, you know, basically what's going on, we find out that this is how they're using the alien registry to kidnap aliens. And the plan is to kidnap aliens and send them back into space back to their planets and get them out of Earth. They don't want— Cadmus doesn't want any aliens here. And, you know, um, I was wondering what they were gonna do with the registry, but we get to learn in this episode that, uh, you know, whereas I, I did think, think the original plan was probably just going to be to annihilate and murder all of the aliens that are, that are on Earth that they decide to deport them. And what we saw in last week's episode that we thought was, you know, we couldn't quite figure out what it was. I did, you know, think it looked like a spaceship of some sort. Well, it actually is a spaceship. And we get to basically learn that, you know, they're boarding these, these these aliens on this ship to send them back to, you know, basically deport them. And, you know, in last week's episode of Supergirl, when Kara and Mon-El finally really got to get their relationship, get the fireworks going, you know, there's this scene where she kind of leaves him, uh, you know, the morning after, you know, leaves him in the bed and he's looking for her, he can't find her, and she's out to get, uh, you know, breakfast and things like that. And you know what we get from Supergirl, and I guess it would make a lot of sense, you know, Supergirl is very powerful, very capable woman, and she really shows how a woman can possess and have a lot of strength and control in her relationship. And, you know, so she's the Superwoman. Um, and so what I got from that was that, you know, we get a lot of social commentary, which I thought was fair to, you know, show that women can be the powerful in the relationship, can be the dominant, you know, figures in a relationship, that it doesn't have to just be men. And, uh, you know, I thought that You know, that social commentary made a lot of sense with dealing with a character like Supergirl and dealing with women in general, you know. And I think that was the message, that women can be strong and should be seen as equals in relationships and not this, you know, past of the 1950s image of women, the Leave It to Beaver women, where they just stay in the house and they do this and they're just over-emotional and things like that. So I thought in last week's episode we got to see, you know, some commentary on that. That. And in this week, um, with the, um, alien deportation, you know, a lot of stuff that's going on in our, uh, world today, in our political landscape, uh, you know, with, you know, the Trump administration, you know, immigration has been a big, you know, part of the conversation and Uh, you know, we in this, you know, this alien deportation episode, you know, we get a lot of social commentary on that, you know, basically dealing with what happens when people get deported, you know, what's happening to these, um, alien races of beings on Earth that don't want to go back to their planets because it could be war there that's driven them away. Maybe their planet was on the brink of destruction. Maybe it's barren land. And so a lot of parallels there, a lot of, you know, information going there with what's going on in our world and what's going on in Supergirl's world and in their environment. And so, you know, throughout the season, Wynn's girlfriend from Starhaven, his alien girlfriend, is kidnapped. And, you know, Wynn's very you know, upset by that. You know, obviously he wants his girlfriend. You know, he kind of takes it out on, uh, Alex a little bit because he knows that Jeremiah is involved with Kat, and so, uh, he knows that he's a participant in everything that's going on. Um, you know, getting into the, the psyche of Alex at this point, Alex is very conflicted because She understands she needs to do her job at the DEO, but at the same time, Alex loves her father and she believes that all his actions, although he may be carrying it out in the wrong way, that his intent is good natured. And we get to learn the story as to why Jeremiah is doing what he's doing. Cadmus has, you know, threatened Supergirl's life, Kara's life, and Alice's life, and that they'll wage a full-scale war if he doesn't stay in line, you know. But, you know, and prior to that, we get with Alice that, you know, she really wants to believe her father Um, and the D.E.O., John, is concerned about where— will Alice be able to do her job, you know, under the circumstances, uh, of the things that's going on with Jeremiah. So, you know, we get to see he pretends to be, uh, Jeremiah Danvers just to see if Alice could be, you know, swayed into assisting Jeremiah in some way. Alice, of course, felt the best because of her conflict. And, you know, her and Maggie, they're often— it's terrible in this episode to team up together. Maggie still believes in her, and that was interesting. I kind of, I kind of like to see that Maggie was the ride-or-die, uh, partner for Alex, that, you know, although, uh, you know, everything that Supergirl and John was saying was correct, that, you know, despite it all, she was gonna be there with her girlfriend, I believe, and her girlfriend. So, uh, I, you know, I, I like that. I liked how Maggie kind of stepped up, you know, either or, and got involved and, and, you know, and decided to support Alex. And, you know, Alex goes in by herself to, uh, you know, just to stop Cadmus. And, you know, we also got to see that, you know, through the process of trying to stop Cadmus, that she was able to get Jeremiah to make the decision that they have to stick together, you know, that, uh, despite what the consequences are, that, you know, when that time comes, that they'll fight and protect each other best they can despite, uh, Cadmus' threats. And so, uh, you know, I— me personally, I felt like, you know, Alex and Supergirl have, you know, already been under a lot of threats and dangers, you know, where that Jeremiah wasn't part of, and, you know, are going to continue to be, you know, under such danger. So with that storyline, as far as Jeremiah said, I'm doing all of this to protect you guys, um, you know, I kind of thought that was kind of a weak one. Although I understand the power of Katniss, you know, maybe he looked at it like this time they're going up against something that they won't be able to deal with. But, you know, at the same time, Jeremiah has been out of the girls' lives. You know, he's not able to see how competent they are and how powerful they've become and capable people they've become with dealing with tough situations. And, um, you know, unfortunately they didn't really get a chance to convince him of that in the earlier episodes. But, you know, if he's, you know, you know being able to, you know, gather information on them, which I'm gonna assume that maybe he wasn't. Maybe a lot of the threats they faced, you know, because they had the threat with the Kryptonians, you know, last season, you know, these very severe threats, that world-ending threats and things like that. It's like, where was he then? So, but anyway, You know, that's basically, you know, why, you know, we understand that's why he's doing all these things. But, you know, um, you know, Alex, he was finally able to make the decision where they were going to do things the right way and do the right thing, which I thought made a lot of sense for their characters with everything they've been through and, uh, you know, things like that. So, um, he ends up having to face off against, uh Cyborg Superman. Now my issue with Cyborg Superman is that, uh, uh, they need to do a little bit more, you know, you know, with his, uh, his appearance. Because I don't know, he kind of looks like Phantom. He got kind of got this Phantom of the Opera thing going on. But come on, let's invest a little bit more in Cyborg Superman's, uh, you know, everybody else has got a pretty cool look every other villain and things like that. Let's try to do a little bit more with— a little bit better with Cyborg Superman Phantom of the Opera thing happening. I like to see that. And so he's facing off with, you know, with Jeremiah Danvers. You know, we got all of that, and we got, you know, Supergirl. She was able to stop the, you know, the the deportation spacecraft, uh, from, you know, leaving the planet and leaving the, leaving the, the solar system and light speed jump to another part of galaxy. And so through a great, you know, display of, uh, of, uh, strength, she's able to, you know, do that under the encouragement of Alex. But, uh, I thought this was a, I thought this was a good episode. I enjoyed this episode, guys. Um, Didn't really have a lot of complaints with this episode. Thought it was a good show. Uh, we got to see, uh, in the end, we know that you have this alien group, a group of people looking for, uh, uh, Mon-El, and they get unmasked. We get to find out that it's actually Teri Hatcher, and, uh It's also Kevin Sorbo, you know, Hercules: Legendary Journeys and Lewis and Clark actors. And I really liked it. I liked how, you know, we got some hints to ask who they may be. We got this "Your Highness." They were calling him "Your Highness," so we know that there's some type of royalty. And, you know, kind of has me in mind going back to when The, um, the, um, the alien race that, um, uh, that, uh, was bowing to my nail and was saying, don't harm, don't harm my nail. The, um, I don't know why I always forget this race of alien beings, but it'll come back to me. But anyway, um, you know, so they're headed to Earth. But we also noticed this, we, we also noticed that You know, they're noticing changes in themselves and in their bodies. They're talking about they feel so different, they feel so strong as they're getting closer to Earth. So, like all of that, let me get my speculations and some theories. I think it's gonna mostly be some repeat things of what I said in some earlier Supergirl episodes, but let me talk about my theories as to what's going on with that, who these people are, and what we can expect. So, you know, let's connect the dots. There's some type of royalty. They're looking for Manel. You know, some speculation that Manel is the prince of Daxton. Hmm, could they possibly be his mom and dad? And my speculation is yes, they're his mom and dad. Apparently the king and the queen of Daxun didn't die, uh, that they were separated. Now they're looking to find Man-El. Now I'm not sure what kind of people they are. They don't seem— they, from how they killed that alien back on the other episode, they don't seem like very tolerant people. They seem like people who, uh, are interested in you know, having things go their way, getting what they want despite, you know, you know, the consequences or, uh, and things like that. But anyway, uh, my speculation is they are Maneo's parents and that they aren't good people, and that of course they're getting stronger because they're getting closer to the— they're, they're getting close to the Yellow Sun. The Yellow Sun's starting to have an effect, you know, on them, you know, as they're— and, uh, so I think that they're going to be a problem. I don't think that they're Carla's gonna get to meet her mother-in-law and her father-in-law, but my speculation is that is not gonna be a good, uh, meeting. So like this week episode, guys. I hope you all enjoyed it as well. Uh, don't forget to like and subscribe, and until next time, guys, take care.
