Superman - Supergirl New Image!

New on-set photos show Millie Alcock as Supergirl in what looks like an intergalactic bar, possibly with bounty hunter Lobo. The House of El logo appears darker and grittier than Superman's classic symbol, hinting the film may have a revenge-driven tone like Seven Samurai.

Welcome back to the channel, guys. I hope you're having a great day. So in latest news, right, we got Supergirl already filming, right? And this seems to be a scene of her sitting in— looks like a pub, right? An intergalactic pub, a nightclub. This looks like something that the bounty hunter Lobo would find himself, right? The main man, right? Remember, he's supposed to be in the Supergirl film, and Supergirl is actually playing, uh, the Woman of Tomorrow version where it's going to be kind of this intergalactic odyssey, right? So they're going to be, uh, unlike the Superman film uh, that she's going to be a part of, right? And, um, I don't know if she's going to be a part of that film and she's going to get there. Like, we don't know what period of time this film is going to take place and the Superman film is going to take place, right? So when she shows up, uh, in that film, right, is this going to be a part of that film or is this going to be something that happens when she was, um, you know, or elements of this scene going to be in the Superman trailer? Or is she going to kind of just show up, uh, you know, after this period of time? Uh, or is this a future, right? Or more likely to be— I'm sorry, according to the comments, it would be— it would have to have happened in the past, right, before she's with Superman on Earth, right? So that would be before she gets there. So Uh, you know, could it be something like she shows up in the Superman film and they kind of cut from that to this? Uh, kind of like how the Marvel films have done, because according to the credits, her father Zor-El, right? I believe that's her father's name, Zor-El, and her mother will be in the Superman movie as well, right? So that's all very interesting. A lot of people are optimistic about this movie. Some people even dare to say this movie might be better than Superman, right? I wouldn't go that far. I like Supergirl as it is linked towards the Superman story, right? But I've never went out on a limb to say or I wouldn't go out on a limb to say that it will be better than the Superman movie. It will be different from the Superman movie, right? Because it is kind of, if you go by the comic books, uh, a vision story, right? Uh, and so this could be a lot more grittier Superman. Also, you know, when you take, take into consideration Kara, right? Kara's storylines hasn't featured the same virtuous, uh, degree of Superman's story, right? Superman is raised on Earth by human parents, right, with a great degree of sentiment to humankind. Zara— I'm sorry, Kara is more so relative to her Kryptonian nature, right, and the values and principles of maybe putting Krypton first to a great degree, right? Even though she's many times educated by Kal-El, by Superman, when she arrives on Earth. Uh, now the actress playing Supergirl is Millie Alcock, right? And many of you all remember her from House of the Dragon. Now Millie Alcock, uh, you know, she has the Supergirl look. That's what a lot of people like. They like that traditional blonde hair, blue-eyed look. Millie Alcock has that. Now the thing is, uh, she's a phenomenal actor on House of the Dragon. Phenomenal. And she, um, you know, wasn't a very big person, right? She has a very slender frame. But that was years ago, and she was very young when she took that role. And now she's grown up. It's been some years, you know, since House of the Dragon. And as the common idea with many of these superhero hero— heroines, they bulk up, they build muscle, they get ready to get in that suit. We, uh, Gal Gadot did that with Wonder Woman, and she came out with a very good physique for Wonder Woman. I thought it was a great physique, especially where she came from. She came from a very slender frame. And Millie Alcock has also a very slender frame, but again, she's aging, she's getting older, she's probably filling out a lot more. So, uh, I just know she's gonna look great and different from what we're used to seeing. So she's probably gonna look great in that suit. Now, much like House of the Dragon, they have these house sigils, right? We're looking at what the House of El sigil, right? What we kind of relate to as an S that's not an S, right? It's a symbol in Kryptonian that means hope. But in addition to that, in some iterations it looks like, uh, the number 8, right? A lot of times numbers and math are— is the language of the universe, right? But the comparison I'm making from it in House of the Dragon, right, the Song of Ice and Fire lore, is that everybody had a house crest. Now if you notice her sigil, right, her house crest, that S-looking thing looks different from the traditional Superman logo. And that's all very interesting because the traditional Superman logo looks a little bit more bright. It looks a little bit more hopeful, friendly. This symbol looks like kind of gritty, like it's been through something. Kind of looks like Man of Steel, right? You Snyder fans, uh, this is a darker version of the House of L, uh, family crest sigil. So why does it look like this? At this time, we don't know. Why didn't James Gunn just make it look like the traditional Superman Crest of Hope? Maybe because of the spirit of the film. This is a revenge story. It's a vendetta, right, movie, um, you know. Uh, it's a Seven Samurai type film, right? And so in that way, uh, the image and the mood of the film might not be that— versus this might be a kind of darker element story, right? That's one reason it could look like that. The other reason is maybe it could just look like that because, uh, even like on House of the Dragon, the Targaryen family that Emily Alcott played a part of. Her crest was different from, uh, the other factions of the Targaryens. They, they looked exactly alike, but the color scheme was different to separate them, right? Which what happens with many, uh, uh, groups with different points of view, right? And that's to say this is a different type of Superman story, right? But Maybe it's just also a Kryptonian thing, or could be in James Gunn's world where, uh, everybody who's a member of the House of El don't share all of the same design choices and ideas, right? Like, uh, uh, Jor-El, his brother Zor-El, who was Kara's father, uh, they might have different, uh, distinctions, departments, ideas. Philosophies. I don't know, but it could be so many reasons why this is different. But what is clear, it is a different Superman logo, right? It's very much Superman, but it is not like the logo in Superman Legacy that's coming up in July. Now, does that mean that they weren't both the same? And maybe Kal-El changed it when he arrived on Earth. Maybe, right? It could mean that, or it can mean so many other things, right? But all looking good, guys. Looking forward. Like I said, a lot of people are starting to say things like this might be better than Superman, and they're more excited about it than Superman. Uh, that's a weird thing, I think, for them. Well, it's not weird, uh, because some of them a little bit skeptical about this Superman film. It's not weird. I'm excited about both of them, but, uh, I'm, I'm Superman all the way first. But I am looking very forward to what Millie Alcock does with this role, and I'm cheering her on. I'm gonna watch both of them. I'm excited to see both of them. But tell me, guys, what you all think. Why the change in the logo, in the Superman logo, Supergirl to Superman logo? And as always, take care of yourselves and each other, and don't forget to hit the like button.
