Welcome back to the channel. I hope you're all having a great day. So I wanted to talk about the Creature Commandos being the first property into James Gunn DCU, right? And that kind of gives us a mirror of the kind of uh, work James Gunn does, right? So Creature Commandos, uh, this is an animated series. It feels like it's probably on the, on the edge of what would probably be a rated R animated series. Now, uh, we've seen successful rated R properties, um, in the comic book world, right? Um, And so that happens. This happens with the Wolverine. This happened with Deadpool as such, right? And so that's an area that they venture towards sometimes. Interesting that James Gunn, one of his first works launching, would be something like Creature Commandos. But although I didn't know how to feel about Creature Commandos as this being you know, the thing he started off with. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this show was, right? Um, and so if you've been watching it, uh, if you don't know, they are getting a season 2. And, uh, I just thought it was an excellent job. And I, and I thought it was important just to, like, for if you're kind of on the fence about Superman and, you know, uh, what you are looking to expect from the world of James Gunn, uh, you know, this program, right, because this is all part of DCU, you know, they exist in that universe with, you know, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman. And, uh, throughout the episode we see indications of them, you know, being there In fact, spoiler alert, uh, you know, you do get a scene with Batman in it, right? A little, a little small scene with Batman. Um, and I thought that was awesome. I thought that was awesome. But, uh, if you're a skeptic of what James Gunn can do in the DCU, I hope Creature Commandos, uh, gave you an idea of how good his storytelling is, right? Because you remember, James Gunn writes these things, and so he, he knows what he's doing. Now, so far, I haven't heard like any negative comments about Creature Commandos, right? And, uh, anybody who's watched this show, uh, they will, um, I, I think they'll have to agree that this is an awesome show. This is awesome. It's well written. It's just well done. Um, and, uh, you know, again, I was skeptical at first because I was like, these creatures, these— they seems like these, uh, you know, these old world, uh, you know, original creatures like Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, the werewolf and such. Uh, and so I didn't know, you know, what to think about this. Initially. But as I got into these episodes, I start to say, oh, I understand what's happening here with this, where James Gunn is going, right? And it just made me trust James Gunn even more with what he's going to do. Now, Superman, all of the, all of the DCU exists within this universe. And I won't give it away what you get in the episodes, but you, you know, but you clearly understand and you see how the rest of the DCU fits in with this, right? So if you haven't watched it, I would highly encourage you to watch it. If you have watched it, I think you'll understand what I'm talking about with where these stories, uh, can go and just, uh, how well James Gunn can put all of this together, right? I, I think watching this this first, you know, characters out of the DCU, I think it just solidified my confidence in what James Gunn was, you know, going to do. I knew he was going to— it was going to be, you know, whatever he did was going to be good, but I just didn't know to what level. And I, you know, I can say again, I am just delighted with what I saw. In the series. Uh, these are the characters who play the, uh, or the actors who play the characters of Creature Commando. I recognize Frank Grillo, you probably know him as Crossbones from, um, you know, the Avengers movies, Captain America movies. Uh, Indira, who plays the bride of Frankenstein, uh, next to him, um, um, she, she's been in the Game of Thrones, right? She's been in, in, um You know, several, several things before that. She had— she was in Rome. So she's a, she's a, um, uh, a big alumni with, uh, HBO Max, right? She's been, uh, doing things for them for quite a bit of time now. Now I don't recognize, um, this, uh, I believe her name is Ivana Mazursky or something like that. Uh, or that might— I'm sorry, that might be the character's name. She's kind of like this amphibious creature that, you know, has to live in water and things like that. And then David Harbour, you know him probably from Stranger Things, or, uh, uh, he plays the, um, the, uh, the red, uh, uh, what's his name, uh, he's like the Russian version of Captain America. Can't think of his name for some reason. I'm going blank now, but you all know him quite well. Uh, I, I think this is a relative of James Gunn because his last name is Gunn too. Next to him, uh, he plays the werewolf, right? And, um, um, I'm sorry, he doesn't play the werewolf. He actually plays G.I. Robot. G.I. Robot. And then next to him, um, uh, I believe his last name is Tzersky or something like that. He actually plays Dr. Phosphorus. He's kind of the man who's on fire. You know, the character's on fire here. I believe it's caused through a nuclear, some type of nuclear reaction or something. And, you know, he's well known from the Firefly series. You know, he's been a lot of stuff. He's done a lot of stuff. You know, and, um, just a, a fantastic show, guys. I can't wait for season 2. Uh, I love to be surprised by, uh, shows, especially when I'm not expecting them to be as good, uh, as I thought they would be. So the direction that James Gunn is going, it is a very interesting direction. It's exciting. Um, it, it kind of— it feels like a fresh spin on things, but although very much so familiar. Um, so if you're skeptical about James Gunn, I tell you what, watch the— watch this series. Uh, watch this series, and then, uh, I'm gonna have to believe that you're gonna at the very least be willing to give the James Gunn universe a great chance, right? Uh, because it's just such a, such a well-done show, right? I mean, it is just such a well-done show. The, um, now like I was saying before, you know, there's one thing when you do, uh, you, you approach the comic book world and you know, it can splinter into a series of— some people, they just like the Dragon Ball Z type setting where, you know, you got the action, the explosions, and, you know, you got all the action. And then you have some people who are more geared toward character development, right? And then you got some people who fall somewhere in the middle, right? And it just seems like James Gunn is a master of all of them. In a perfect blend. And that's what we get, uh, you know, with this series right now. I see no reason why, as these— as all this is in the James Gunn universe, I see no reason why he's not going to be able to trans— uh, for— and translate over many elements of this into the Superman film, right? Because remember, here's another thing that comes up in, you know, Creature Commandos, and I assume that a lot of information we get out of Creature Commando is going to be resonating all across the DC Universe, right? The Superman movies as such, they're going to be, you know, information relative to what's going on in Superman movie. Likely what's going to be going on with, you know, many of the other, uh, characters and shows, right? You know, and so, um, um, you know, in that fashion, all these things are going to be relative, like kind of like the Marvel formula was, right? I believe we're gonna, we're gonna see that. But, um, but I believe those elements are going to translate over to the Superman movie simply because, you know, as it's brought up in Creature Commandos, metahumans are well known throughout humanity at this point. People are tired of dealing with metahumans. It almost kind of feels like that, you know, the X-Men registration thing, right? When they had the people were, you know, well known about mutants and, you know, they were existing amongst humans and you know, and so on, right? And so it's a similar thing happening with metahumans in this situation, you know. So this is the world that, uh, consequently Superman is occupying in the DC Universe because, you know, you know, as it's brought out, this Superman— this isn't a Superman origin story, this isn't Superman day one or year one, this is a Superman that's been Superman for quite some time, you You know, he knows all these other characters. He's moving amongst metahumans. You know, this version of Superman already is up to speed with all these things, right? And so, you know, again, if you watch this series, you're going to know exactly what I'm talking about. And if you haven't watched it yet, watch it. And then, you know, I think that'll put a lot of you guys' minds at ease with what James Gunn's going to do with this franchise, what he's going to do with Superman, how they're going to be connected. Bump off each other, right? Uh, and, uh, I, I'm convinced it's gonna go very, very well. And, uh, you do get glimpses of Superman as well in Creature Commandos, right? So it's all very relative, you know, as well as some other interesting characters, right? But that's all I think I want to say in this video, guys. Tell me what you all think if you saw Creature Commandos right? Uh, if you thought it was good, if you thought it mixes in well with where James Gunn's going with the DCU. And, uh, don't forget to hit that subscribe button, guys, uh, so you can get the latest information, uh, that we do here at the Education Entertainment Television, uh, show. We'd be, uh, glad if you did. And, uh, as always, take care of yourselves and each other.
