Superman Trailer - Joe Rogan Hates Superman!

In this YouTube reaction video, hosts A and B dissect Joe Rogan's recent negative comments about the upcoming James Gunn‑directed Superman trailer. They begin by introducing Rogan's criticism, then wander through a series of tangential discussions: Rogan's shifting political stance, the role of DEI in modern superhero media, and the hosts' own views on Rogan's credibility. A substantial portion of the dialogue focuses on the scientific plausibility of Superman’s powers, especially the gravity of Krypton and the feasibility of space‑born bodies, with the hosts correcting Rogan’s misconceptions. They also analyze the trailer’s key moments, notably the appearance of Krypto the super‑dog, debating whether a flying dog is acceptable and how it fits James Gunn’s tonal balance. The conversation contrasts Gunn’s approach with the Snyderverse’s more grounded style, touches on over‑powered portrayals of Superman (e.g., bleeding in the snow), and references past actors like Christopher Reeve. Throughout, the hosts intersperse meta‑commentary about YouTube practices—demonetization concerns, calls to like and subscribe—and conclude that Rogan might redeem himself by trusting James Gunn’s track record, even if he remains a non‑fan of Superman.

Guys, welcome back to the channel. I hope you're having a great weekend. So apparently this came across my desk. Uh, it's been out— I don't know how it escaped me, but it's been out almost a week now. Joe Rogan doesn't have a, a, a good opinion of Superman, right? Um, let's take a look at some of what he had to say about, uh, the James Gunn Superman coming out in July. Um, you know, Joe Rogan's, uh, really, uh, you know, hitting zero with me, uh, these days. Um, isn't he at this time the biggest Okay, he was the number one podcast, right? He's been the number one podcast for a while, but I think he's recently been dethroned. I think someone said by some girl. So I think he's starting to lose ground. Let's hear what Joe Rogan had to say about Superman.
I'm playing Captain America, but he said something like basically, but he's not for America. Yes, he basically said, but it makes no sense because Captain America is for Uh, fair use, by the way, guys.
Fair use. Um, don't come after me, Joe Rogan. I'm just— we're just trying to analyze here what was said.
Justice and for fair play and all that. Cool, move to Ukraine. Oh, there was— it was a problem. It was a big problem. It was like— it was a PR— that's not my Captain America. No, that's not my pussy. Well, I like Steve Rogers. Isn't it weird that they feel like they have to say stuff like that to keep working? It's weird.
Okay, seems like he's talking about the, uh, Anthony Mackie, uh, Captain America: Brave New World. I just did a review on that. Make sure you go and watch that video. It's a good video. Um, uh, uh, I guess they're gonna start getting into the DEI Captain America, you know, this, uh, because I, I don't know what Joe Rogan's, uh, political affiliation is these days. He, um, You know, apparently he was supporting Bernie Sanders at one time, and then he seemed kind of open to Andrew Yang, you know, the guy who was pushing universal basic income, something we talk about a lot, you know, on our, on our channel here. We, we think for a future economy, things like that are going to be important because robots and AI is taking— you're going to be taking all your jobs, uh, you know, unless you don't think that ChatGPT is going to get any better. Um, but I, I, he was kind of there, and so I don't, you know, he was kind of like, I, I kind of seen him as an independent. Then he had Donald Trump on the show and Elon Musk, and I, I, I, I'm assuming he might be, uh, uh, a MAGA or something right now.
Now Americans aren't gonna go to fucking Captain America. That's what happens. Yeah, he's out, you know, really fucked up. Bautista. He went all in against Trump. Remember he did that video?
We want to get to what he's saying about Superman. Where does that take place at? Hold on a second here. Okay, let's see.
Let's see. Who's playing?
Okay, wait, I think this might be it.
Hold on.
Let's go back.
See it? No, I'm a grown man. Okay, okay, let's see the new Superman trailer. Did you see that? Come on, man, you'll get your nipples hard. Really? No, I'm a grown man.
Okay, I don't know who this ball guy is who's talking about— he's asking Joe Rogan, but he seems like my kind of guy. This guy seems cool. What is his name? He's asking Joe Rogan if he saw, uh, Superman, you know, I guess the trailer, right? And, uh, Joe Rogan's talking about he's a, he's a grown man, you know. Uh, the thing is, hey, you know, when you guys are 40, 50 years old and you're playing video games, uh, nobody comes after you. I'm sure Joe Rogan plays video games. I got You know, people telling me, hey, why you making Superman videos? Grow up, grow up. Hey, this is part— this is one of my jobs, buddy. You know, you know, this is getting ridiculous, guys.
I'm with you. Lighter fluid. Who's playing Superman? Is it, uh, Henry Cavill? Don't tell me you're not going to watch that movie. Watch my lips. I am not going to watch that movie. Really? No, I think Superman— that's who the Superman is.
He just called— Joe Rogan just called, uh, Superman stupid. So even if you're like a Zack Snyder fan, which I don't consider Superman, that means he's calling Henry Cavill stupid, he's calling, uh, uh, Christopher Reeve stupid, he's calling all these people that's played Superman stupid. Joe Rogan doesn't know anything.
I think it's just like living in space. If you were living in space, you're— eventually your body would decay.
Okay, he does— he obviously doesn't know, um, you know, anything about Superman because, um, he's talking about if you're living in space, your body will decay. Okay, but Superman's not a— he's, he's not a human being. He's, you know, he got— he's an alien. How do you— how does he know it's not organisms out there somewhere that can't live in space that aren't human?
You come from a place with more gravity. It's not going to be good for you on Earth. I'm on Matt's train. Fuck that. When you get back to your planet, you're not even gonna be able to walk. All right, hold on. This is stupid, Captain Negativity.
Wait a minute. Okay, wait, his science is off. He says you're living on a planet with a different type of gravity, right? And he says you're not going to be able to— well, I thought Joe Rogan was supposed to be smart, right? Doesn't he have all these different scientists and, uh, astrophysicists, uh, on his show that's supposed to be able to explain that? Right, so, uh, for— okay, so the gravity— he says you won't be able to walk, but the, the gravity of Krypton, right, the planet of Krypton, I think it's, it, it's like 100 times bigger than Earth. I think it's even more than that. It's a huge planet, right? So the gravitational pull of Krypton is so much more, uh, heavier than what would be on Earth, meaning that on Earth it would be easy to leap and, you know, the girl— you would, you would have less forces holding you down, right? Now he got it backwards. I think it's more— it's— he, he has his science backwards because it's more like if you lived on Mars, right? Okay, if you lived on Mars, that's a very low gravity. So if a Martian, uh, if you grow up on Mars like what Elon Musk— like his buddy— what his buddy Elon Musk is planning to colonize Mars, right? So if you're a Martian there and you come back to Earth, you'd be like, you know, you couldn't walk because the gravity would be so strong, right? You, your muscles wouldn't be as strong, the development of them, right? So he, Krypton is different. Krypton is a huge planet. So their muscles would be overdeveloped for Earth. So they'd probably be able to jump, you know, so many feet and all that.
He can make the world go back in time because he can go so fast. Look at him though, he's cold and he's getting picked.
Okay, he was referring to the, um, you know, when Christopher Reeve did the thing, you know. Hey, you know, well, that was the '70s, '78, you know, Superman, which I love, guys. Uh, that would— okay, that was more like in the '70s, you know, they were— that was a direct, like, comic book, uh, translation. And, uh, you know, in the comics, you know, they got these overpowered versions of Superman, right? So, you know, okay, you know, you know, if you— some people, you know, have a problem with that. I like the Superman movie, um, but I'm glad that they don't do that in today's, you know, versions of Superman.
All right, what happened to the original Superman? Hold on. Well, what do you mean? He got— the guy broke his neck. What do you say? Christopher? No, not Christopher Reeves. He's that for the TV show. Talk about last guy. Oh, they've had a bunch of—
not funny. And, uh, no, it was Christopher Reeves. He— they don't know their Supermans. Uh, it's Christopher Reeves who broke his— yeah, he broke his neck riding on a horseback riding, right? And he was a paraplegic for many years and and then he died, right? Um, I don't understand why that was, you know. I guess that's kind of, you know, the Joe Rogan Comedy Club trying to be funny crowd. Uh, I don't think that's funny at all. Uh, they're rebooting it.
Spider-Man, they've been like 80 Spider-Mans.
Oh, Tobey Maguire's my Spider-Man.
How many fucking Hulks have they had?
They, uh, you know what happened?
Mark Ruffalo. That guy makes it hard to root for the Hulk. James Gunn is rebooting the whole DC Universe. That's good too. Superman is breathing and stuff. He's— I mean, he's bleeding. You guys watch The Penguin?
You guys watch The Penguin? Joe Rose, not even focus on Superman. But, uh, the, the one— the, the other bald guy that I— that he seems to be an all right guy. I don't know his name again, but, uh, he seems like he's a reasonable person. Uh, he's, you know, he's, he's saying that, uh, You know, he likes James Gunn. James Gunn's doing all this stuff, and he seems like a fan, unlike the Snyderverse crowd.
Yeah, this part's a little tough. I don't know how Joe's gonna take this. What? What's going on? Is he running through the storm there? No, this is— I haven't seen this. Let me see this. A dog saves him. Jesus Christ, is that a—
hold on.
Yeah, wait a minute. Is that a fucking super dog? Is that a super dog? First of all, if you're not watching it He said that dog had a cape.
So, so what Joe Rogan is doing right now, right, and he's asking if Krypto flies, right? I guess he— they're watching the scene where Krypto comes to save Superman. And then the other guy, I forget his name, he used to be on MADtv. I remember him from there. But that other guy, he's talking about, you know, Superman's bleeding in the snow and whatnot. So I don't know what it is why people, um, get bent out of shape about Superman bleeding, right? Uh, you know, like Superman can't be hurt or something, right? You know, um, you know, the thing is, um, you know, Superman, uh, if you're overpowered, it, it every depiction, there's nothing at stake, right? So you gotta have, you know, I, I don't want to see, you know, Superman without any challenges.
He's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I have a Porsche. That's Guy Gardner. Porsche 912. Yes, Hawkgirl. Shut up. Listen guys, this is serious. You like Zuckerberg with the bow? You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
It doesn't surprise me that Joe Rogan bears a striking resemblance to, uh, Lex Luthor.
It's got super dogs dragging him to safety. It's over. Listen to me. Why is the dog able to drag him? You communist, you don't like dogs?
What the fuck?
Why is that dog able to drag him? Oh, he's kissing that girl in space. Oh, you big show-off, bro. He's taking that girl up in the sky.
Okay, I guess they're watching it without the sound on, you know, maybe because they'll get demonetized or something like that, copyright strikes, which I'm probably going to get for this video. If they come after me. Don't come after me, Joe Rogan. You already got tons of money with Spotify and all that. I'm only here because it sounds like you don't like Superman, buddy, and I take offense to that. So he's— so they're watching. Yeah, you have to watch it with the sound. I don't know why they got him watching it without the sound. Because it's something so powerful about that trailer with the sound going, you know, with the old Superman theme and such. You know, that's part of James Gunn, right? The music that's, you know, in his movies, that, that, that pushes the, the, the, the, the atmosphere of the film, right? It makes it so much more powerful. That music, James Gunn soundtrack, is very important. But he's kind of— I can tell he's getting bent out of shape about Krypto wearing his super cape, you know, because he's— he, he might be one of these, um, these guys like the Snyderverse is. They're, you know, they're going insane, uh, because they want a more grounded superhero movie. And so Superman and Krypto, you know, by Superman and Krypto, they start flying, they just lose it. But, uh, hey, listen, Uh, there was a college that's doing, uh, a course on the physics of Superman, and I looked at some of the stuff they're doing, and one of the main things that they say allows Superman to fly is gravitons. And, uh, he uses kind of like psionics, right, to push him off the ground. So the thing is, if Krypto does start flying, I would prefer Crypto leaps, you know, he could just jump like a dog would jump up in the air. When he jumps, he just kind of stays up in the air. I would prefer they do something like that. Uh, the choice of him dragging— he— Crypto may not fly at all, I don't know. But the thing is, if he does fly, I would imagine that the same thing that, you know, allows Superman to fly will allow him to fly, and that his desire to move wherever he wants to move You know, like if a dog's looking at something and it's trying to get somewhere, like if you put, uh, uh, the dog bone on top of the refrigerator, he's looking up at the dog bone refrigerator, his desire is to get up on top of that fridge— refrigerator. So if he wheels himself up there, you know, if they doing something like that, I, I can see that kind of working.
The dog's a bad choice. I'll admit that. The bad kind of— you know why the dog took me out of it? I thought the dog would be a bad choice. I thought the dog— I thought the dog was a bad choice.
I don't I like the bald head guy. He's the only reasonable person, uh, in the room, right? He's definitely a James Gunn, uh, Superman Legacy fan.
I agree, he's great. He's the man. Guardians of the Galaxy.
Okay, there might be a reprieve for Joe Rogan, right? A redemption for Joe Rogan because listen to what he said, right? Unlike the Snyder fans, uh, Joe Rogan says, uh, he's gonna see this movie for James Gunn because James Gunn is such a badass with Guardians of the Galaxy and such. That's what I've been saying to these Snyder fans and you guys, that he could take— like, you got the, uh, Rocket the Tucker Raccoon. You're talking about, uh, Crypto flying. Crypto's not talking though. Rocket Raccoons talks. And then Guardians of the Galaxy 3, it was a ton of these animals they experimented on, uh, the evolutionary guy, uh, and it had them talking, right? But, uh, yeah, they're just saying the, the magnificence of James Gunn. He can, he can make these movies work.
He knows how to make you care about characters that you never heard. I don't care about that.
Thank you. Well, Joe Rogan, uh, said he doesn't care about crypto. Well, he doesn't, you know, he, he, but he, if he's seen Guardians of the Galaxy, he knows that with James Gunn you're going to be invested in, in, in the characters he puts on screen.
Okay, like a fake Superman dog. Look, in the comic books, the Superman dog. Did you like Guardians of the Galaxy? Crypto the Superdog. Did you like— he drags Superman. Did you like Guardians of the Galaxy? I did.
I'll keep it a stack though. When I, when I first saw Krypto in that trailer, I, for about a second, I was like, oh, I don't know about that. But it— how that scene was set up with Superman being in trouble, and, and, you know, even because the thing was, it was so, it was so much offset because, you know, although Krypto running up there like that, you're like kind of like, okay, wait, wait, wait, uh What's this dog gonna do? But then you're looking at it's a serious situation going on with Superman, and you're like, oh, what the heck, Superman's bleeding out in the snow. But, and then you kind of got what some people might feel is goofy and ridiculous with Krypto coming up there. But there's James Gunn again, he knows how to blend it together to where you don't care about how goofy it looks, you just want Krypto to save Superman, man.
It's a talking raccoon! How could you watch that? I love the talking tree. You know what, dude, you know what, if anybody can make a super dope awesome— it's James Gunn. Did they try canceling James Gunn for being mean on set? I think so, yeah. Did they? Yeah, yeah.
This guy, I forget his name, is it Ari or something like that? Um, yeah, he, he likes to kind of put all this DEI stuff, you know, in there. He's talking about the firing of James Gunn now, you know, because every time people talk about superheroes nowadays— and this is my big gripe, guys. I know a lot of people are going, hey, what's your problem with all these big YouTubers, right, that their whole videos are DEI stuff? That, that is the problem, guys, that we can't hear any, um, any superhero content anymore without politics and DEI stuff. It's the exact opposite, right? It's the— it's— it really is the same thing as, uh, what they were complaining about with the Mary Sues and the gender role swap and the race swap and all that stuff. It's like the same thing, uh, on the other side, but it's just as annoying.
I think it was something like tweets he did back in the day. Oh shit, some bullshit. Whoopsies. But, uh, Anyway, yeah, he was saying funny things. We're all looking forward to it.
All right, that's it. You guys got the idea of it. Uh, James Gunn kind of— I'm sorry, Joe Rogan kind of redeemed himself a little bit in the end. He said he's gonna see the movie because of James Gunn. And if he— the thing is, he may not be convinced, but if he believes in James Gunn. He, he made a lot of good comments, uh, compliments to James Gunn, saying he's the man, how he put together Guardians of the Galaxy. You could tell Joe Rogan just isn't a Superman fan, period. Uh, but at least get a movie a chance first. But because he believes in James Gunn, that's kind of his reprieve, that's kind of his redemption, because, uh, James Gunn's not gonna mess up this film. You're— we're gonna get the same quality out of this film that James Gunn did with Guardians, if not many times over that. And so if Joe Rogan likes what he saw in Guardians of the Galaxy, like many of us, you know, uh, I don't think he's gonna have a problem, you know, with liking this film in the end of the film, right? But that's all we got for that video, guys. Share the video, like the video, uh, we very much would appreciate it. Uh, get us out there. We want to get more subscribers, uh, so we can bring you more quality good videos. Don't forget to hit that like button. It gets us in the algorithm and it helps us to get into more people's views, right? All right guys, as always, take care of yourselves and each other.
