In this solo‑presentation the host explains how YouTubers can generate substantial income despite most channels having modest view counts. He first outlines ad‑based revenue, noting that top creators can earn thousands per video but that average earnings are roughly $1‑$2 per thousand views, making ad income insufficient for small channels. He then introduces affiliate marketing, illustrating how a high conversion rate—using a store analogy and a personal product‑review example (the Nutweasel)—can turn a few thousand targeted views into sizable commissions ranging from $20 to $500 per sale. The speaker emphasizes the power of targeted traffic and the ability to earn with only a few sales. Finally, he discusses direct sponsorships, explaining that channels with as few as 1,000 subscribers can be paid by companies for product promotions, though it is harder to secure. Throughout, he offers practical advice: focus on niche product reviews, join high‑payout affiliate programs (Amazon, Walmart, hosting services), and leverage even modest viewership to earn money. The overall message is that view count alone does not dictate earnings; strategic monetization can enable even small YouTubers to make “tons of money.”

Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. And today I want to talk about why YouTubers make tons of money. So are all YouTubers millionaires then? No, but there are some reasons why they can make a ton of money. However, I just like to illustrate in a simple way how YouTubers easily can make large sums of money. So the first way I think would be the most obvious. That is, YouTubers make money through advertising. Now, no doubt you've had to skip an ad on YouTube, or two, or three, or a thousand. And in some cases you can't skip them at all. You have to watch the entire ad. Well, every time that happens and you see that ad, YouTubers are getting paid money. At the top of their game, some YouTubers can take home thousands of dollars just on one video. Imagine if they are doing several dozen per month. Some people are full-time YouTubers and may do hundreds of videos a month. So it's possible for YouTubers to make hundreds of thousands of dollars per month and millions per year just from ad revenue alone. However, let's use YouTubers in a broader sense, meaning the majority of YouTubers. What can the majority of YouTubers, which with much less views, make? Well, let's say a YouTuber who's only getting a few thousand views per month, like myself. How can I make tons of money? Well, to make good money on YouTube ads, you need views in the hundreds of thousands. So unless you can get that many views, you won't make hardly any money. It varies due to what advertisers pay for the month. Some have come up with an average of around $1 to $2 per thousand views, but it can actually go much higher, all depending on the advertiser. So in the general sense of being a YouTuber, you won't make tons of money through advertisers alone. However, it's actually possible that even YouTubers with very small views can make a great deal of money, and some achieve this through a term you're familiar with, and that term is called affiliate marketing. However, not just affiliate marketing, but having a really good conversion rate. Conversion rate is when your percentage of views can result in a sale of a product. Now let me give you an example of what I mean by good conversion rate and great affiliate marketing. So imagine you had a store and 1,000 people visited your store on a particular day. Let's say it was a health food store. And let's say that you sold a very specific product that cost around $500. And let's say that of those 1,000 visitors to your store, only about 1% of them bought that particular product. Or let's even say that one product was the only product you sold in your health food store. That would mean 10 people of the 1,000 purchased that product. So when you multiply 10 by the cost of the product, which was $500, that means you made $5,000. So that wouldn't be a bad earnings for the day, right? Or let's say even a fraction of that. Let's say a tenth of a percent. That would still equal out to be $500 for the day. And let's add a little more to that. Let's say you just had a chain of these stores spread out all around the country and each one of them was doing the same thing. Well, some YouTubers have copied that same concept. The problem though is just how targeted are the viewers. I did a product review on something I love called the Nutweasel. The Nutweasel was a cool gadget. You could pick up fruit and nuts or golf balls or tennis balls without bending over and breaking your back. Now, before I got one, I watched videos on YouTube on how effectively to use these Nutweasels. After seeing the videos, I was impressed and then decided to purchase one. So in that example, people that do videos that specifically target a product even if they are small YouTubers, can have a great conversion rate based on that. Now of course, some videos that get a lot of views aren't targeting any specific product, so they only make a few bucks per thousand views. They probably won't make a lot of money on ads. However, let's say you did dozens and dozens of product reviews this, this way on items that, you know, people like, or or even doing them on products you like yourself and already have, uh, which would be more ideal. You simply then provide them a link to the product, and the people that are already interested in the product have a great chance of purchasing it. That's called targeted traffic. Smaller YouTubers often use places like Amazon.com, Walmart.com, various website packages and hosting services they often promote. The great thing about, about this is that you don't need a lot of views to have great conversions because your views are so targeted. And on average, my affiliate programs generally pay out between $20 to $500 on just one sale alone. So if you have targeted YouTube videos in this manner with thousands of views It's possible, depending on how well the video is done and the product promoted, that you can make great money with only a few views and only a few sale conversions. Another way YouTubers, small or large, can make good money is if you have at least 1,000 subscribers. Uh, in some cases, you can be paid by companies to do product promotions directly to your channel and receive money directly from them for that. So even small YouTubers can get deals with such companies. However, it's a bit harder for them. But bear in mind, even if they offer you no deals, if you get a few thousand views per month, you can still make good money depending on how your product reviews promote, how your sales convert, and how many product reviews you can do per month. So there you have it. Now you see even small YouTubers can make good money. So don't pay attention to the views only. They don't mean necessarily that the person with the most views makes more than the YouTubers with the less. So if you're thinking about starting a YouTube channel, you now know what to do. There you go, there are some ideas. Let people know about your favorite products that you use. Join affiliate programs like amazon.com. Join affiliate programs like Walmart.com and other great ones that pay very high per sale. That way, if you only get like one sale, you still make $500. Some of the affiliate programs I work with are such programs. So there you have it. You can now make tons of money as a YouTuber too. So take care, folks.
