woj.eth warns that blockchain's open data combined with Web2 convenience will expose too much personal information on-chain, destroying anonymity. Privacy-preserving sign-ins could help, but startups have trained users to pick easy over safe. Building privacy-first apps requires investors willing to back solutions the crypto world hasn't agreed on yet.

I love open data and it's very useful. But again, if we behave in this open data paradigm as we behave in this Web2 internet, after some time there will be just too much personal identifiable data on chain and on open data, which will just lead to very dangerous situations of you unknowingly using your real identity in a situation when you think you're anonymous. And maybe you will show to your friends that you watch some content that you're ashamed of. So getting this right will be very important. And I think it's the existential problem for crypto adoption. Maybe actually just using sign in with Google everywhere. but without your legal name is the way to go. Maybe Google will ban you for that, but maybe not. And maybe this has no way to work in general.
So that's number 2 for me, privacy. And you think it's more of a philosophical or is it a bottleneck that people just don't feel comfortable or?
It's in general convenience versus right internet usage. So I think over the last 30 years of internet, we developed some patterns where a huge part in development of the internet was played by startups and just companies trying to maximize growth and profits. And you make the whole user experience as seamless as possible and you guide your users to either a payment or some revenue-generating event. And a lot of people, just like 2 billion people that are using internet or maybe it's at 4 right now, whatever, huge number of internet users is just like we humans are used to go with the easiest option in these devices, in these applications. So if we continue using applications like that, which is probably the way how it's going to go forward, it's going to be very easy to leave too much data. behind yourself. And this is dangerous. We can still turn it in this new paradigm of new applications. Maybe new applications will just not allow to leave too much data. But again, it's going to come from us, from entrepreneurs, from investors willing to bet on this future. But it's definitely not consensus yet.
