A startup is building VR where your body itself is the controller. Full-body avatars create stronger emotional connections than keyboards and mice, even when you know it's fake. The real endgame is neural interfaces that make virtual worlds feel as real as physical ones.

So yeah, this is really interesting because I feel I've had one experience with one of our startups here. And what they do is they try to really create immersive VR experiences by linking real and digital world in a really kind of interesting way. And for the first time, I realized, oh, my body here is my joystick. Like, I don't need to have a third-party interface to interact with this world. I myself am the interface, just like I am the interface in my real life. Because right now, this is my joystick. My body is my joystick in the same way it's translated. So this is about VR/AR, though, right? Or is there a bigger point for you?
There absolutely is. But even just to touch on what you just said about VR/AR, right? Seeing an avatar on the screen that you're controlling with your keyboard and mouse already creates a deeper connection between the player and, say, just looking at a chat app. But when you get to VR/AR, your entire body and your being reacts in a very profound way, right? Like you just throw someone at a wall in VR and their body's gonna just tense up. Because even if we know that it's not real, it feels real, right? At such a deeper level. So when we have experiences around connection and interaction, they're so much more meaningful the more we relate the person to that experience. Now, the step above that, I mean, the end goal for all of this, right? If you look at the metaverse, the end goal for all of this is at some point our interaction with these systems, it's not gonna be through a mouse or a keyboard or a VR controller. It's going to be at the level of our neural systems interface with it, right? Right. And there's work happening in this direction. At some point in the future, how long it may take, virtual realities will be indistinguishable from physical realities. When that happens, Right? It alters our definition of what reality means.
