Mars represents the next big collective vision for humanity, a destination that can channel global optimism after globalism peaked in 2020. Like a boat carrying us to an island, a vision can transport us forward, but we can't stay too long or we'll deplete what's there.
A vision, an image, is like a boat that gets you to an island. Once the boat actually arrives to that island, if you stay too long on the island, you're going to use all of its resources and ravage the island. So you quickly need to get on a new boat and get to the next one, right? Ah, yes. That is the entire point of the Mars conversation. The Mars conversation is globalism peaked in 2020. What is the next big project of the human race? What's the next big thing? And maybe the next big thing is Mars, and maybe that's can be the thing that channels optimism and that channels enthusiasm and that gets us to, as a species, move towards something.
