Now, you've talked about this story, your grandmother and college sandwiches to talk about money. How does that differ from normal cookie-cutter type approach to financial planning?
So my grandmother is my hero. We grew up in a small town in Laurinburg, North Carolina. Early in my life, when I was 11 years old, her and my grandfather had raised my mom and aunts and uncles, but they got some devastating news. My, my grandfather had— was diagnosed with cancer. He could no longer work and died shortly after that. So my grandmother had to innovate through desperation. And yes, she had made this collard sandwich for 30 or 40 years, but through that innovation, she now turned it into a business. She had a 3rd grade education. She couldn't really read. And now what I've realized in building One Oak Financial was that our clients bring ingredients to us. We take those unique ingredients that clients bring us to create a truly one-of-a-kind financial plan, just like my granny did with collard sandwiches.
