AI isn't new or a threat to trades. It's a tool that helps technicians find information faster, learn quicker, and organize notes, but it can't replace hands-on experience, site visits, or the judgment that comes from years of work.

If you're new to the trades, you're going to start hearing a lot about AI, and some people are afraid of it. But the truth is, AI isn't here to replace technicians. It's not here to spy on us, and it can actually be quite helpful. Truthfully, it's just another tool. And interesting enough, It's not technically new. It's actually been around for a while, one in one form or another. It's only now that we're becoming more aware of it. But AI tools can help you in many ways, from looking up information faster, understanding systems better, learning faster. Finding parts and organizing your notes. But as helpful as AI tools can be, they will never replace experience. They can't replace observation. They can't replace our presence on the job for our customers. And it definitely can never replace your good judgment. AI is just a tool. And just like any other tool, ultimately, you, the technician, are in control. So just like a multimeter, just like a wrench, and every other tool, it's only as powerful as the technician using it. And now you know. And now you can help someone else know.
