In this announcement video, host Mike re‑launches the HVAC Mentors Podcast after a hiatus, explaining a strategic shift toward serving entry‑level HVAC apprentices and anyone considering a trade. While still promising occasional technical tutorials and tool reviews, the core of the new content will center on soft skills—professional attitude, communication, workplace etiquette, and the unspoken norms that distinguish a tradesperson. Mike mentions an upcoming video on an apprentice’s tool bag, highlights existing audio episodes available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon, and asks listeners to follow the show on Facebook. He reflects on finding a niche that only he can fill, emphasizing that knowing how a scroll compressor works is less useful to a newcomer than learning how to talk to a prospective boss. The message ends with gratitude to the community and excitement for the next chapter.

What's up everybody? It's Mike with the HVAC Mentors Podcast. I am thrilled to announce that the podcast is back after taking some time off. Uh, I really thought about my focus and direction in this podcast. Not that we don't have room for more technical skills training, but to be perfectly honest, my passion Uh, what tugs at my heart is the new people who want to come into the trade or have just come into the trade, and maybe they don't necessarily know the difference between a nut driver and a screwdriver, or maybe they don't know the tools that are in their trainer's tool bag. Um, and it's not just tools training, it's soft skills, it's attitude, it's how to be prepared, how to have a successful day, the things that separate us as tradespeople from any other worker. It's the unspoken, the universally known truths of what makes a tradesperson a tradesperson. Will there be some technical skills and some, a few tool reviews? Absolutely. Absolutely. I'm working right now on a video on an apprentice's tool bag and what tools you should Have on your first day, but the focus, unlike a lot of HVAC content, is going to be soft skills. What it the attitudes again and the philosophies and the language, the things that we say without even thinking about it. What does it mean? And and how do we sound like and look like a professional tradesperson? Not just you know some guy who's faking it until he makes it. I've got a few videos out. Excuse me, I've got a few audio episodes out now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Podcasts. This is the first video I'm putting out. Also like me on Facebook, please. HVAC Mentors Podcast. Um, really looking forward to this next chapter. I'm very excited. Um, instead of doing a little bit of try this, try that, I really felt like I needed to have a thing, a niche, um, something that is, that is me and mine. Um, you know, a good friend of mine who actually is in the content creating community here, uh, and lives pretty close to me, he challenged me by asking me, you know, what, what is it that you're doing That nobody else is doing. And that kind of blew my mind. Like, yeah, you know what, you're right. Not that we don't need more of the technical skills training, because we do, but if you're trying to get into a trade or considering a trade, if you don't even know the first step that you need to take to even get into a trade, then, you know, knowing how the inside of a scroll compressor works Isn't helpful to you yet. You just need to know how to talk to your prospective boss. So we'll be going through that and a lot more. Again, so excited to be back. I want to thank everyone, uh, before for their support and friendship, and that means the world to me. And I look forward to continuing to grow with this community. Talk to you guys later.
