Define your destination before picking a technology tool. Choosing the wrong solution without a clear goal wastes money and time, like trying to bike to Hawaii when you need a plane.

One of the things that I really try to work with my clients a lot on is this issue of picking technology before they pick the destination. You wouldn't do that in your personal life. You wouldn't say, I wonder if I should buy a bicycle, a motorcycle, a car, an airplane, a jet, a spaceship to go from point A to point B. until you figured out what your destination was. So what we find, you know, as I'll use a kind of a crazy example, if I decided, you know, I'm gonna buy a bicycle and then I later find out, oh, I'm gonna go to Hawaii. Well, I can't bike from the United States to Hawaii or I can't bike from India to Hawaii. So you kind of go, well, I picked the technology without a destination in mind. And so I harp on this idea of, do you know where you're going?
